K told me there r 3 freshmen now, but under the supervision & guidance of him, Danny & Johnny. They will guide & supervise the freshmen till the completion of reno. He said the freshmen need to learn how to negotiate wif clients aso, so they will teach them how to handle issues instead of coming into the picture.. As a owner, I would aso prefer someone experienced to handle my house too.. They will still b able to accept projects, jus tat the well-known ones r more tied-up.. Cos I tink an ID normally handles abt 10-16 projects/mth, he will stop accepting new projects when the quota for the mth is met so he can concentrate the projects on hands. Anyway, dun b despair. Sometimes, its dependant on fate aso. Good luck for ur ID hunting.. L3x

I tink most of the popular ID firms recommended here r tie-up wif projects. Some firms were so tie-up, tat they cant even provide reasonable rectifications(can browse around Reno Firms & Services) & u will get wat I meant. So if u really need an ID asap, can get frm other firms tat r not so popular loh. But u hav to take into considerations the hidden costs, reputation, worksmanship, etc.. I second wat taiji said. I tink alot of ID firms r lacking manpower, can c frm the Classifieds, quite a no of firms putting up ads for freshmen. Been flipping thru the papers & online job directory for the last few weeks, looking for jobs too. L3x

Ya, happy.. Cant wait for it to finish.. I didnt change my pipes, felt quite wasteful to change it. If I can choose, I rather conceal it.. Do u like the 'steel-pipings' look or u prefer to use copper pipes & paint it over?? K aso gave some stainless steel pipings for plumbing works, a more costly material than PVC, which is wat my pipes r. Seems like Ideal House like to give stainless steel.. Wao.. Its really very cheap.. R they washable by washing machine? Will it crumpled easily??

Hi strawberri, long time nvr c u post.. So hows ur reno getting on?? Me too.. My ID said dun waste the door & money, use 2 yrs or so den decide wana change or not.. He changed the door knobs & do some simple design for my doors. I aso feel quite wasted to change it since nothing is wrong wif it. Furthermore, our doors shd not affect the outlook of the living & dining cos its 'hidden' at the common area. But its still up to individuals, unless u really loathe the doors so much. Mayb u can paint it 1st, den add some designs later on. If really still cannt make it, den change the door loh.. L3x

Hi Hobbes, I aso have the same problem. I tink for the new flats, all will have aircon problem cos alot of BEAMS, PILLARS, & the door frame is jus directly under the beam. Wana pass through the wall on top of the door-frame aso cannot..

MLR, we aso met our neighbour. Caught him red-handed for trespassing. If u dun mind to wait, I can give u the switches since Nex cannot use it liaoz.. Nex, no problem giving u the switches, cos ur giving me money aso. Heheh.. Joking lah.. But seems like u dun need the switches anymore.. Double sockets have to wait cos I may b changing my single to double, duno got left over.. Will let u noe again.. L3x

Sometimes, its difficult to advise & compare apple-to-apple. So some of the tings have to give & take. Most importantly, must not have hidden charges.. Btw, which company is it? Most of the tings in the package r quite standard. So I will highlight some issues tat u need clarifications. My 2cents..

Not like air-con, grilles, doors, electrical appliances, where u can compare the specs.. Thx, Goh & MLR. Made me so wif ur assurance.. Ya, MLR, wat u said is true. Anyway, we have decided to put it behind us liaoz since we have signed up wif them.. Jus hope they can deliver quality stuffs.. Have u found ur curtains too?? Hi diva, thx for ur tips. Some lights installed.. Living: Kitchen: Curtain pelmet: Speaking of curtain, I tink its by far the most tedious & frustrating reno item. Cos its very difficult to justify the price of the piece of cloth u like. Some ppl did theirs at 700-900, some did theirs at 1000-3000??? Very difficult to compare cos of the material & length, but in most cases the 'material' commands the premium for it. Tried searching RT for information, cant get much aso. Den the curtain shops all nvr label e pricing for the curtains, wana choose aso difficult. Den when u c the cloth u like & wan it, they said "its a better quality, u have to top up how much how much blah blah blah.." Very Sian.. The 'material' is a very intangible component tat warrants the price, sometimes double the price of the latter, which I felt it is only favourable to the sellers & not the buyers.. Cause the curtains all nvr labelled the prices. However, I signed up wif Jimmy Textiles based on their reputation. Hoped they live up to it as a reasonable store.
