  1. Went down today to check out the paint job! Really happy with how the colours turned out so light, so neutral, I like! I chose to paint a 'feature' wall in each room instead of the entire room. All other walls were painted white. Living room is a light grey MBR is a light blue-grey Common bedroom is a light brown/taupe Service yard painted a grey-purple. I wasn't expecting a slight purple tinge to be honest, but it's still bright enough so I'm ok with it Views from the walkway
  2. @izong thanks! Excited to receive the goods too, it's quite exciting opening the packages, lol
  3. I got it from a shop on tb. I've listed almost all my purchases in past posts, you can check my 2nd post for the links
  4. Hi, you can contact Mr Poh of Singa Plasterceil 9388 9077. He has 3 designs you can choose from and he has a group buy price as well.
  5. Looking at your list of purchases I'm quite sure you're a lurker/regular on another reno thread! Not completely sure though. Nice, you're hacking the service yard walls. I played with the idea of it many times but in the end chickened out all the best for reno
  6. Very nice reno! Such a fancy and classy bathroom! The cosy corner is also another eye catcher very envious that your kitchen is large enough to have a dry and wet kitchen
  7. Nooo, is that your last post? I was looking forward to seeing everything come together! I hope the progress is ok and that your renovations can conclude smoothly sorry that it was a rollercoaster journey for you
  8. I loveee the geometric shapes on the wall! Are you planning to have it painted or is it a wallpaper? If it's painted, did your ID/contractor charge you more for painting those designs? I'm thinking of having it done too, or DIY lol For home appliances, I suggest you always check qoo10 prices first before going to any Expo. Usually the best prices can be found on qoo10 (mega discount, lion city, parisilk) especially with coupons that qoo10 give from time to time!
  9. Made more TB purchases tonight it's kind of addicting, I find myself having to control myself from spending too much on TB lol 'TV' console https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=536597601396&toSite=main It's a 'tv' console because we won't be using this for a tv we'll probably put some decor items and framed pictures on top of it. Gives more storage options too Bedside cabinet for common bedroom https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=547070905530&toSite=main Bidet sprays for both toilets https://world.tmall.com/item/525360468485.htm? Wayyyy too many choices for bidet sprays on TB I gave up and just sorted by popularity and picked the top one, LOL Ceiling lights for service yard and bomb shelter https://world.tmall.com/item/22967912251.htm? From what I gather, this is a good lighting brand on tb but these small ceiling lights are going for a promo price of $2.50 how to resist?? Toilet accessories https://yiweiyi.world.tmall.com
  10. Nothing much to update so far! Painting works are starting tomorrow and carpentry works have been confirmed after discussion this week. Painting works were supposed to start on Wednesday but there were some hiccups because some of the colours I wanted couldn't be found :/ oh well. I can't go down tomorrow to check on the progress so I'll drop by on Saturday. A few days ago, I got someone to replace one of the bomb shelter vents with something that looks nicer. The other vent on the side will be sealed by my ID foc. Some paint delivered, still some missing colours Some of my tb loot is here! One of the ceiling lamps, these will be along the walkway Condiment pull out rack, my ID will have it installed Kitchen sink and tap. Quality feels really good. Thick POSCO stainless steel, sink has a nice depth to it
  11. @Mehpuff lazarus73 is right, I overlaid the tiles! @izong do you mean with Grout Shield or something similar?
  12. Love how excited and enthusiastic you sound in your posts! Very detailed too. As for the Aida issue, my suggestion would be to stick around for awhile longer and try to push Jason for things, to gauge his reponse time and commitment to the project. If you don't feel confident in him delivering, then don't proceed with the 2nd payment. I would say $500 is worth saving yourself the headache over a reno project..
  13. Received some rough drafts of my carpentry work. My ID sketched these over a discussion with the carpenter, more detailed drawings will come from the carpenter. I'm quite pleased with the wardrobes and shoe cabinets, but the kitchen needs some changes because I want to fit a pull out condiment rack. Also missing vanity cabinet drawing MBR wardrobe + side table Common wardrobe Shoe cabinet Kitchen cabinets
  14. No big updates within these few days, masonry work and partial electrical works are completed and painting will start next week. Will also confirm with ID about all carpentry design soon. Common bathroom floor overlay is completed with grout, no regrets doing this so that we can do away with the kerbs! Both bathrooms' shower feature wall have also been grouted, kinda regret not using these tiles for the MBR toilet instead! I picked grey ones from the same series for the MBR toilet. Subway tiles have been grouted with light grey grout tiles are slightly beveled
  15. Did you use one wood-like laminate for most/all of your carpentry? It's so pale, I like. Oh and where did you get your MBR basin from? Looks just the right size
  16. I love neutral colors too, and will be aiming to use it for my place! All the best for your reno
  17. @lazarus73 ahhh I see what you mean. I'm not too sure actually... let me check with my ID. Might be a mistake :/ @izong thank you! Masonry works taking awhile @dietgalvon yeah I saw your bad experience with trunking but at least it's fixed now, after some trouble. Actually I had no idea they were going to conceal it, and neither did my ID... the subcon did it because they thought it was nicer and they've done it for others. That's why I was shocked and didn't know how to feel about it!
  18. Hm not sure which original fitting you mean, but my ID will get his plumber to install the new WC for me so we'll find out then
  19. Won't be able to visit my place till Thursday, so a small update from my ID. Floor tile overlay for MBR bathroom is done, it takes a longer time than usual to lay tiles diagonally because lots of pieces have to be cut at the edges of the area Kerb built at the toilet entrance to keep the water from flowing out Only found out today that they 'buried' my aircon drainage pipe under the tile, with the outlet directly at the drain. Not sure if that's good news but it looks nice aesthetically Kitchen subway tiles are up too, but without any grout yet Cabinet base for the sink drainage
  20. I opted out of the sanitary fittings (shower set, shower mixer, basin, basin mixer) and internal doors. WC comes included for all flats, there's no opt out or in for WC.
  21. I think your contractor is super unprofessional, sorry to say. To hear that he agreed to give drawings before proceeding and then bam your carpentry is done is terrible. Hope you can finish dealing with this contractor soon since the subcons may not be as bad. Mind sharing how many % savings you get by using different subcons instead of your initial ID quotes? Anyway hope your reno can complete without any big hiccups
  22. Did your contractor come up with the wardrobe layout for you to confirm before proceeding with carpentry? My ID had a few 'templates' and I picked the one that I liked most, but could propose something different if I wanted. Btw I saw from your previous post that the altar doesn't look like full height? Why is there a small gap left at the top? Coordinating between your contractor, electrician, aircon, painter, windows, must be such a tiring affair. Your contractor is only doing the carpentry and masonry works for you? Carpentry should really be the one of the last items to go into the house. Hopefully your other subcons can work around the furniture.
  23. Replacement of basin mixers and shower sets will be quite difficult for me. Not sure if it's the same for you. I would probably have to ask the plumber to do it for me. Afraid of rusting and also plumbing problems with TB stuff but lots of people have bought from TB and I think it's been working ok for them
