  1. Hi... need some help here. I intend to buy a semi-d and am wondering if I need to pay agent's commission. There's a few differing accounts from my friends and relatives. Some of them do pay, while a few did not. I mean.. I was the one who facilitated the sale... so why should I be paying? Still trying to put off asking the agent, lest he rips me off! Anyone care to advise?
  2. I'm sure you won't have problems selling it later on. What kind of painting is it?? and its size? If you are selling it cheap, I don't mind... hehehe! Post a pic of the painting leh...
  3. For furniture, I recommend you go to Khao San Rd. There's a big market there that deals just in furniture. You can eve get replicas of designers furniture at ripoff prices. Couches, dining sets, chairs and side tables could be found there at a very low prices. You can ask around in town or get a taxi driver familiar with the furniture market to bring you around. The quality are pretty good and the smaller shopkeepers would even arrange for their shipping back!
  4. Yups... agree with you! I was considering buying a private property in early 06. But kept putting it off thinking that the market is too expensive. Lesson learnt: when it is going up... just get into the market. But when prices start their downward spiral, get out asap. Many in the country will be thinking the exact same thoughts as you are. Right now, I believe market still has quite a bit of upside. Private property is probably the best place to get into right now. With HDB valuation out of sync with what many people are willing to pay (HDB should really relook the basis of valuation of public flats), COV is getting way beyond the reach of many young people. These young buyers will eventually be forced into the private property market. Everyone huat chye for CNY!
  5. Yup.... Don't think theres gold there lor.. In fact, no announcements of any major projects there. The way I see it.. in a few years time, the estates that would be worth a lot more would be places like Pasir Ris, Yishun, Sembawang, Bukit Batok. They were much more "mature" then sengkang ponggol area and best of all.. a lot of amenities are being built there! Yishun probably the best with the hospital and the second mall coming up soon!
  6. Yes! Definitely agree that their service is very good. I was surprised by the recommendations they made. Initially I was quite confused with which paintings to get. Then the sales guy told me to take a few photos of my living area and send it to him. He even took the pains to superimpose some of the paintings on the photos i sent him. Really makes selection much easier. Best of all, they even recommended that I don't buy too many paintings so that my home won't look so cluttered. Honest indeed! their website www.coloursofthewall.com
  7. I attended an art bazaar in Tampines industrial estate.. its somewhere behind safra tampines. The office has quite a couple of abstract painting, especially those that comes in a set. Located on 4th floor. Best of all, you can choose from as many as 6k+ paintings. I ordered a set of 2 paintings about 80x120... cost me about $400. Considerably lower price than at marina square and toa payoh
