  1. Speaking of denim maybe someone can choose this lamitak denim laminate for their carpentry: http://lamitak.com/patterns/faux-denim/
  2. sink can still move...i moved my sink to the back of the kitchen because i wanted it to be away from my main countertop.
  3. Very nice! Wish I had taken more photos of my "in progress". But I only took a few, then lost most of them.
  4. Your layout is great! So fortunate that you only have one toilet door and it's in the living room so you don't have to seal up a door like I did.
  5. That's a great idea for the wall! I got curtains as well but I barely use them - I find the room so stifling when I draw the curtains because I chose heavier curtains...will replace them with lighter, day curtains when I have the time (also my cat likes to come and go as he pleases haha). The wardrobe idea is great as well (i could not do that as my wardrobe is way too messy, heh. I chose this for my wardrobe - one wardrobe on each side.
  6. I told my ID I wanted a colorful house, and she was like "....???" lol but then in the end she came up with a lovely design and I really love my house.
  7. Hi - so far the water splashes have not been that big an issue - I do clean it thoroughly every couple of weeks, including trying my best to scrub that corner. I hope there's no algae! But sometimes I think that we can't prevent that, so we'll see. It's not smooth - the tiles are textured: http://www.hafary.com.sg/collection/Tiles/Equipe-Ceramicas-Rhombus-Black-612?image=4157 No regrets for that since the textures prevent accidental slips, like you said. Can't get a tile that's too smooth. (Only regret is I feel the tiles are too small...but haha that's me feeling like, bigger tiles means less grouting issues.)
  8. Hi everyone! So it's been about two months since I've moved into my new flat, and I have to say that overall I'm quite happy. I do have some regrets, but they are minor. One is my toilet floor - which I really feel in future I will go for function over form, as it looks stylish but I think bigger tiles for the toilet are better? It does look nice though - no regrets for the wall at least! Someone mentioned they wanted to do a half-wall to divide their room? I would recommend full glass instead of half-glass - the sun really gets blocked by a half-wall! Also your living room becomes tiny...but that's to be expected. I have no TV, but be warned that a couch + coffee table + tv console is near impossible (though I guess you could always build-in your tv console). Also if I were to do it again I would possibly not make this living room carpentry and put the tv console there instead? So that my couch can face it and then I might have space for a small dining table. But that's...eh. I never eat at the table anyway so it's a small matter. Overall I'm pretty pleased!
  9. No I only sealed one - the other door faces the "corridor" which is where the bedroom used to be.
  10. My flat has already been handed over to me, so I thought I'd share some final pictures. Living room carpentry: My favorite part is the geometric lights. I split my living room into two so that I could get another bedroom, as such I have a platform bed cum bedroom and a very small living room. I also made the actual bedroom smaller so I could have a "corridor" for my cat, and so the toilet would be open to the living room instead of in the bedroom. Finally my completed kitchen and toilet.
  11. My flat is finally complete - the quotation was around 29k, in the end top up another 3k for miscellaneous which includes electrical, and then flooring by evorich - so around 35k? But my carpentry works is quite a fair bit.
  12. Bought my white bathroom mixer from Adamas for $175. It also comes in black, which is pretty nice but doesn't fit into my theme. I also bought a pure black mixer that I ended up not using - but it's no-brand one. Not from adamas though.
  13. It will be a separate room. There's glassworks as well as the platform is a bed.
  14. I put a divider and a platform in the living room so that's why the living room is a bit smaller
  15. yep switch the washing machine and sink area. overlay the tiles with vinyl for uniform look with my living room.
  16. Yes the washing machine goes in the slot between the stove and basin.
  17. Hmmm I don't think he did actually! Well I won't be using the hood much it's largely for show - I did buy an extended 4 year warranty though because my last house the hood was the first to go. You can see the kitchen attached. Also a photo of it in progress, if it helps. Mmmoh my flat is almost ready! Lighting installation plus my WC is left.
  18. I installed a Bosch 60cm telescopic hood - it's 600 x 30cm but you can pull it out. Also as it's my first post, just saying hi to everyone! Mine 2-room BTO is at Eastbrook@Canberra...:)
