Hello All Neighbors, Will like to ask those neighbors who installed storage heaters, it’s installed outside the toilet or inside? Cos my current new id told me that it will be install outside the toilet, but I thought that’s for city gas heaters right? Storage heater will be inside the toilet right? Anyone, install a storage heater plus an additional instant heater? Also, for kitchen/toilet sinks, top mount or under mount is better? Can share any advise? Last but not least, can share how much u spent for the windows grilles and curtains? Will like to know what’s the price range is like, and anyone have any good and price reasonable contacts to recommend? Thanks in advance!!

Hi Jazz, No, don’t think we can change ID Company now. Everything is half done, and doubt will be able to find others who’s willing to take over, cos they might not be able to earn from a house that’s half done. Besides, our reno loans is applied under this ID company, so cant change contractors easily, plus even if really take the trouble to go to the bank to request for a change, will also have to spend time to look for another contractor, and scare will have other problems too. Yah, I’m also scare that HDB will ask how come the reno is so long and might have penalty or other problems again. Hihi Happy, Thanks a lot. Appreciate yr kindness! Hi Happy & Simpleboi, Sorry for late reply, that day type half way and laptop no batt, and everything gone and have to retype. It’s a long story, and sian just to think abt the stupid reno thing and to type it out. Will try to write in summary point, if not scare too long and bore u all to death! In short, my id change total 3 times! 1st one, just before starting, have to wait for him to go for sudden ns reservice. So delay more than 2 weeks than start reno. Then tiles that already long ordered, suddenly will have no stocks, so have to wait for the tiles. No tiles, so workers go off back to Malaysia, early for CNY. Have to wait for them to come back after CNY in mid Feb. Well, no choice, have to let the workers to go back and rest and enjoy the CNY too, so wait till CNY period over, and we even waited, and give them 1 more week to rest, then call my id. He then said that he had just resigned! Have to wait for another person to take over. This 2nd person, this don’t know, that don’t know, have to keep waiting for him to check back w company, check w the 1st id and blah blah, appt fixed to meet us, and keep changing the appts. This delayed for abt a month plus. Out of a sudden, 1 day got a call from a so called manager from their another branch, saying that they realized that how come my flat’s reno is so long? So he will take over now as the 3rd id, without really explaining what happened to the 2nd id. And best thing abt this 3rd id, he need to check some things and get back to us. Called him, nv answered or returned my calls. Sms him, and will always get a reply much later saying he will get back soon. Well, so far, I’ve been waiting nearly almost 1 month for him to get back liao! It’s really very stressed dealing with this reno. Don’t know what should I do now. My hubby’s plc and also our new flat, both now are empty for a few months already, still have to pay both sides for the town council, pub bills and rent. My parents will be staying w us once the new flat is ready. In fact managed to find a prospective tenant for my parents’ place already, in the end as we cant give a date on when we can finally move out, so the person rent from others already. Now economy suddenly so bad, also don’t know still can find any tenants later or not. Our rom ceremony initially applied to held @ our new plc, in the end, as hse not ready, keep delay sending the certs to hdb for 2 months, and hdb kept chasing us for it. In the end bo bian, don’t know when the flat will finally be ready, so have to spent a bomb to held it @ a country club for the venue, in house catering, decorations & etc. Everything is so last min arranged and rush for the rom. So that’s why my reno till now haven’t finished yet! Really headache, and don’t know what should we do? Hmm, Happy, u mentioned “can come over”? Sorry, come over to where? Simpleboi, wau u been staying there close to 1 ½ yrs already? Time really flies! Glad to hear that u and yr wife are happy staying there! Any neighbors still like me haven’t move in yet? Refused to let us know price before hand, just saying in-house is cheaper, don't worry, ended up we dont even get the chance to call in others for an quotation as theirs electricians are there already. No choice lor, but only can hope that since we given the job to their in-house electricians, and was charged ex for it, hopefully they will do a good job for us. If not then . Yr house still currently renovating? I thought i must be one of the super late one around! To Dear Neighbors, Anyone can share w me the price of fixing up window grilles and curtains for our 4room unit? Any good and reasonable price contacts to share? Hi Vitamin C, Guess yr price should be alright bah. My contractor's inhouse electrician is charging me $35 per extra lighting point, and $10 for installing per light. Your rate is cheaper than mine. What's yr total amt? Neighbours, How much did you spend for the whole hse electrical services? My as of now is $1.8k, might still have add-ons later!

As long as it's wont be like the first one which might got chance to become patchy then ok liao lor, no time to delay and shop further. Thanks!

Too bad that my kitchen is very small and dark, so hence dont think will dare to opt for a black color one. Can share w me which of the tiles that you have is glossy black? From where, the code/size and the price? I have decide on my toilet black wall tiles from Lian Seng Hing after considering for very long. Confirm w ID to select it yesterday, but then he then tell me that it's not advise to use that tile, as it will not only not be glossy black, in fact it will even look patchy, color uneven and will become an eyesore next time. And strongly advise me to chose something else to replace it. But the thing is my hubby wants to order the tiles asap w no more delay, as he wants the reno to start asap. If i still cant decide to change what tiles and gonna dealy, then forget abt overlaying the toilet. Hence i told my id to go ahead and he will order the black color tiles today. Is yr common toilet wall tile really glossy black? Any problems w it? Can share w me where u got it from, and the code if u have it? Might need to call my id asap to try to change to it if possible. Haha, lol cos that time is too dark and my bf didnt see properly! Just say can feel that it seems to be a key hole, so must have keys. Yah, can click w this id, but just cant get pass the fact that he’s charging us more, & also worry if really engage him now, he might not be doing his best for us, as he knew now that we know abt his higher price. Yap, think the mark up price is the extra commissions bah. If budget is not a concern, then not a problem to engage him lah, but when it is, then really cant justify already. As for the window grills, is the standard bronze anodized alum one. Charging us $7 psf. (more than 20% more? ) Hi Vacis, Thanks, will send u a pm for yr id’s contacts. Hi Neighbours, Problem is he says they are the same thing/quality. The first quote of $1.4k+ is the better quality one, then change to the $1.2k+ ones are the same quality as the other fellow's quote of $750. If fact almost all the items he quoted us are more ex than the other id (from same company). For the rest of the items, he said he charged more is bcoz he will give more better design n the service he provide! Cabinets can say is his better design/quality/service. But things like window grilles, how to justified? Actually, we clicked better w this id. And it's by chance that we happen to get another quote from another id from the same co, it's long story, but we really didn't purposely double check by going to the same co again. Now after realise his price all marked up, & we told him, but he's not willing to match the other quote, but just give a bit more discount off the total. Sign, dont know whether we should proceed w him or not. 1 thing is cant get pass ourselves, when we know we are paying more by engaging him (even though it's from the same co, so basically, it will be same materials/same batch of workers & etc) Another thing is worry that now that he knew we had gotten ourselves another quote from his same company, he seems abit unhappy, and so wonder will he still be willing to do his best for us or not. But as we do click w him, so abit of headache. And also dont wanna to waste any more time/effort to look for other new ids. Headache man, not sure what to do now.
