MLR... i was referring to ur case.... hope u dont mind ar... haha.... anyway, i ever heard one of my friend encounter leakages.... cos nobody stay, and hdb dont juz open up for no good reason, so it went un-noticed until my friend open the door! so REPORT!! haha.... haha... yup.... MLR is referring to tat cos if get those plastic type of masking tape... how to write?? haha.... HS door = Household Shelter Door.... actually i regretted not doing my toilets both walls and floor tiles.... cos really not very nice.... pink colour ones!! so u can imagine.... i went to my sis hse at BP one, hers one very nice lor... gray one lor... so nice ... hai... but nontheless, u can see for urself when u get ur keys, and u will know wat i mean... anyway, tat time i engage my ID, oso got buget constrain... so i didnt really think in depth lor.... so think carefully when u r renovating... and one thing to rem, after u move in, u wont want to change anymore things le... especially when it comes to hacking stuffs.... so consider carefully whether u really dont wan to change certain things like tiles...

eh.... from my understanding, the HDB will get their appointed contractors to go up and check before handing over the keys to u... not very very sure oso leh... heehee... btw, wat u mean by "not much was done"? u mean the interior of the house?? if u mean interior, then it will b those tat u have mentioned, and, windows (check the locking mechanism and whether the panels can open/ close fully) and most important; the tiles!! but if u r planning to change all the tiles that r already there one, then u can dont bother le la... hahaha... oh yah, and check all keys... try to open all doors with all keys... (all tis will take come time one... haha... happy testing bah!! ) tis will include the key to the riser outside ur house, at the side one... (cos i got problem opening it ) and the less prominent one; the letter box key! (rem to check oso) some common probs r: 1) the tiles (hollow / crack) 2) keys that cant open doors (might b given the wrong key) 3) toilet basin feels "loose" when gently pressed (screws not tightened properly... REPORT!! unless u r changingit... then can dont bother oso...) so far these r the things that is more common.... unless u saw there is water dripping or water stain from ceiling or walls... these can suggest that there might b a leak from ur neighbour from above... like wat happen to our friend here.... i might have left out somethings or wrong info... forumers, pls correct mi if i m wrong!!

hmmm.... by right, HDB should have send pple down to do it before they pass pass u the keys... so mayb u might wan to wait till u get the keys then send in the defects list... cos thats wat i heard from ppl who r already living there ones... they say tat 2 wks before i went up to open door, got some contractors went up and do "some things", which i suppose is the power brushing of the gates, then repaint, and all locks rust/ oxidizing removed...

I m not changing the doors.... juz keep the original ones, then i gave it a new coat of paint.... then most probably do up some designs on it... either by drawing, or "wood sticks", so got to come out wif a design first... anyway i m changing the door knob onli, so that it dosent look so "ugly" reasons y i didnt change the doors, 1) budgeting (each door will cost abt $300+, 3 doors will cost abt $1000 alr) 2) dont find it necessary, cos no matter wat, its still a piece of wood, unless u r changing it to fire-retarded ones.

Hi all... Nw, again on the updates of my photos... MBR... Origianl MBR Flooring.... W/O tiles.... (taken on the day i "open door") MBR Flooring after laying of tiles... (Same wif Living Room, Homo Tiles... but skirtings r not up yet...) MBR after laying of my long awaited PLATFORM!!! but washing not done yet... tats y so dirty... Tats all guys... hope u all enjoy, or use it as some sort of a "reference"...

Hi all... I bought my switches and sockets from FengSheng Electrical, at Veerasamy Rd... near Sim Lim Tower... This one is their branch, the main HQ is at Kaki Bukit, if didnt rem wrongly. Went there cos i really cant find much places that sells the brand ABB (cos ned to match those that were provided by HDB ones, so wanted to buy back the same model one). They oso carry many other brands too... like Legrand, Clipsal, MK, etc... Juz to share, i bought the Legrand single one-way switch for my Sis hse, and it cost $1.80. I was quite surprise... cos outside normally selling it at $3.50 or more... Hope tis helped...

FINALLY.... haha.... cos u n MLR la.... ask mi the same Qn of whether i have a reno blog anot.... so i very hardworking.... do my studying on how to set it up!! then finally one night i managed to get it up, and running good!! THNKX!! ya, its at blk 183... heeheee.... Thnkx!! heehee... i muz tell my Honey abt tis... then she can feel proud... cos the tiles r choosen by her one... hahaha... I had initially chosen a darker colour one.... same pattern, juz different colour, but there was no stock... , thats y end up wif tis colour... luckily it turns out nice nice.... if not i my Honey le... hahaha.... Hi nel... my budget initially was $30K. but i let my ID work on a tight budget of $25k!! haha... end up, i spend abt $23k. Then ordered a closet from Closetrobe, cost $1.5k. so it was still within my budget. in the end, i had $5k to play wif for my Aircon, Kitchen Sink, Hob, Lights, and ofcos the toilet accessories, and some other small small stuffs... PS: I didnt install window grilles... electrical works were done by relative... so only pay material money... , tats y i save quite a bit on tis. more pics on the way, when i get the pics sorted out! haha...
