  1. Actually it's a glass panel with wooden frame Hopefully with the glass door out petite flat will be more spacious.
  2. Hope the real thing come out just as nice as the 3D. !!
  3. Wow you get the earthy feeling... That's exactly what we're planning for this flat. The theme itself is modern resort. Right now the color is a bit dull for me but I hope we can bring some dark color in to create dimension. Just read your blog, you did lots of DIY work Thanks for the idea
  4. It's picture time... Just got the 3D from my ID yesterday. By ch0c0l4te at 2008-04-15 Here is our MBR. We're not going to use bedframe and actually there will be a platform about 30 cm so we can just put our mattress on top of it. Btw, did you spot the false ceiling? Too bad, that false ceiling have to go Budget constraint By ch0c0l4te at 2008-04-15 Our Living Room. We don't want the feature wall. To expensive So we're going to keep the shoe rack and TV Console.. By ch0c0l4te at 2008-04-15 Another view from the living room to the kitchen. It's a sliding glass door. I just love the door design.... By ch0c0l4te at 2008-04-15 The last one is the kitchen. The hood supposed to be the slim, not chimney type. And there will be painted tempered glass between the top and bottom cabinet. We're thinking to have a mirror there, our ID said it's more ex but hopefully we can get it at the same price...
  5. second to spam enjoy your reno From your pictures, your flat seems to be in such a good shape What kind of reno you have in mind?
  6. Done that..... He said it'll be ready on our key collection date I am keeping my finger crossed. Let's hope it come out nice nice......
  7. Hi Kajua, I like you're toilet bowl so much Thinking of doing some exchange Can you pm me your toilet bowl price? Thanks
  8. I am not sure whether have to top up or not. The nice lady at the store already asked my ID about the price and he said have to absorb lor, no choice But since the quote itself still haven't been fixed, so anything can happen. Anyway, my bathroom is an ultra small one so the difference shouldn't be a lot. We even have to choose the smallest adult toilet bowl Nearly choose the kids toilet bowl out of frustration
  9. I think the kitchen homo is 3 psf, the living 3.2 psf and the toilet wall 3.4 psf (if I remember it correctly) I couldn't help to choose the 'beachy' tiles for the kitchen... I also afraid that it'll be hard to maintain My hubby will me if i leave it dirty, but I love it so much Give the sand feel under my feet
  10. Sorry for my blurry photos Need to learn how to take a better picture Tiles picture coming up Kitchen floor : actually it's a little bit rough, cream, glitter a bit.... give us beach feels By ch0c0l4te, shot with Canon PowerShot A710 IS at 2008-04-06 Living room floor : 60x60 homo, cream also, have kind of 'wood' pattern. I just love woods so much. By ch0c0l4te, shot with Canon PowerShot A710 IS at 2008-04-06 Bathroom floor and wall tiles : another earthy feels. The floor tile actually the same material with kitchen floor but in darker tone. By ch0c0l4te, shot with Canon PowerShot A710 IS at 2008-04-06 Now keep my finger crossed until the 3D design is ready....
  11. Thanks for the advice babytan The homo tiles in the bathroom floor and walll is the smaller one 30 x 30. Donny still working on the 3D drawing. Fine with me as long as he come up with a good one Today we took another look and do some measuring with Donny in our future flat. Whoa we changed our mind again.... We're finally doing some homo for the living too since the terazzo is a bit higher than the kitchen. My hubby thinks that laminate flooring will cause the floor even thicker so, better hack it off and lay some homo tiles... After that Donny took us for tiles choosing at Lian Seng Hin (LSH) Balestier. Will upload the photo tomorrow. We chose some tiles with 'earthy feeling' since we decided to have a modern resort theme... All in cream, brown, dark brown. The mozaic tiles was so tempting, but i guess it won't fit to our theme. And way to expensive... Next stop is toilet bowl, sinks, tap shop... We went to INDULGE in Balestier also. Total damage 1.45K But i guess we bought most of the thing we need for our flat. Forgot to mention that yesterday we went for mattress hunting. End up bought Simmons Night Vision Special edition - Queen for 1.63K. 2 set of mattress protector, 2 pillow FOC. Still wondering should we go for the king size instead Anybody have any idea did we bought that at decent price or what? So tiles picture coming up tomorrow...
  12. Wall and floor tiles in the bathroom will be hacked and change into homo tiles. I am thinking of something dark. Anybody have pictures of modern resort bathroom? Kitchen floor will be changed to homo also... Hope everything turned out to be as we imagine.
  13. For the kitchen, I actually don't like any tiles in the wall. Since we're going to use the kitchen area also for dining, we both feel kind of funny surrounded by tiles My current kitchen tiles is actually a small yellow flower pattern. It is up to the ceiling. So we finally decide to hack all the tiles (floor + wall) and cement screed it. The gap between top and bottom kitchen cabinet will be filled by painted tempered glass Don't have any idea how it's going to look like, but i think i'll like it better than the old full height tiles I hope the 3D will be ready this weekend. Otherwise I'll donny So, stay tune for more pictures sometimes next week.
  14. Not from GPlan? Hue he he he my mistake My total reno cost is posted on my blog Have fun with your reno.....
  15. My reno cost currently 28 K (exclude electrical works) Still try to find a way to reduce it. Things that we'd already sacrified : - Homo tiles for the living room - Feature wall for the living room : i guess we can still live without it - False ceiling in the bedrooms This reduced the cost from our initial quotation more than 2K ID currently working on the perspective drawing..... We're considering not to cover all exposed area in the kitchen with homo tiles. It can reduce the cost up to 2.5K Anybody have inputs on this matter?
  16. Hi Babytan, I think we're with the same ID, right? Recognize the drawing... Are u finally decided to use this ID? Good.... somebody to compare
  17. Hi Yoki, In the end we decided to use laminated flooring for living and bedrooms. I don't think we need rewiring since the previous owner had just done that last year. There will be plastering and painting for the whole house. Lots of hacking works to do. We'll change toilet bowl, basin, water heater, etc. Basically we'll do an overhaul to our new flat. Btw, yesterday my hubby and I finally agreed on the ID. Can't wait to post the 3D drawing.
  18. Well, here's the list : 1. Hacking the wall between the WC and bathroom and keep only one entrance 2. The living room floor is currently an ugly teraso. We're considering to have a homogeneous floor for the living room 3. Shifting the wall between the kitchen and the living room 1 m backward so we can have a decent dining room 4. The bedroom's floors is parquet/laminated floor (I am not so sure). Hoping we can just polish the MBR and CBR floor. If not removing and replacing the laminated floor will cost us a lot more 5. We like to change the front door + wrought iron gate and both of the bedroom's doors The rest will be the carpentry, etc. Can wait to pick the ID and move on to the 3D stage...
  19. Wow what a good eye.... Actually the previous owner already hacked that wall.. How do you know? So care to PM me you flat's price?
  20. Hi.... You're right, the odd shape lay out and placement of the utility room is due to upgrading. Not a very easy layout to work with I'll PM you the price -ch0c0- PM'ed you already.... Mine is not so cheap either
  21. HI crazycar.... Wow what a nice design you have. I envy your walk in wardrobe -Cindy-
  22. Hi Apple, Right now i am renting a 3rm in lavender, but the layout is more convenience. The wc and bathroom is located on the right side after the bedroom, so it has a square kitchen... I think this kind of layout is similar to all of the older 3 rm....
  23. Hi all, I've been visiting all the forum here in renotalk for quite some times. Now I'm making my own T-Blog We've just bought a 3rm resale flat in Toa Payoh. The key collection will be on April 17. Thanks to all of you, we're now shortlisting some ID to do the reno. So here's our floor plan By ch0c0l4te at 2008-03-26 It's a very odd looking floorplan, right? Do you notice the empty space in front of the rubbish chute? What kind of architect come up with a design like that? And the toilet area is also placed in the middle of the room. Strange.... So hard to re-arrange the floorplan. But we really like the location, it's just behind Bradell MRT Station. Near good schools for Chiara, my 3 yo daughter. Near amenities and near my brother in law's flat. I think 'our' flat in the original condition when the first owner bought it so many years back. Can you imagine? Butit's good for me so I can make a total makeover of the place There goes my first post. Anyone is welcome to make any suggestion to the floorplan, ID or everything he he he -Ch0c0-
