  1. Hi yoongf Thanks for sharing. At least now I have some lead and can go about doing research... Hi Warrior88, Mine happen only between 2am to 4am. Maybe there is a timing where it happens? U seems to know about this water hammer... Have you installed it or have any plumbers U can recommend who know how to install? Thanks for all yr help and feedback...
  2. Hi, I have search the forum but couldn't find anyone with similar problem. I have moved into my house in CCK for approx 1 year. Recently, at random times, when I flush the toilet bowl, there will be a loud rattling sound for a while coming from the water pipe directly link to the toilet bowl. The vibration is so intense that the metal water pipe will come out of the holder. After a while, I managed to "solve" the problem by switching on the tap at the end of the water pipe to sort of release the pressure. Does anyone here have any experience with regards to this? I also realize that this problem will most likely occur between 2am to 4am. Is it a problem with the water piping system in my block of flat? Should I contact the town council or a plumber to fix the problem? Any help or suggestions is greatly appreciated.
  3. Hi Pinkpetter, Thanks for visiting my thread... it isn't alway smooth sailing ... we had quite a few hiccups along the way... the biggest one having to change the carpenter as the previous one is dishonest and fail to meet the deadline a few times... I guess this must be downside of custom made items... Yeah the reno cost us quite a bomb but we really want a house that is veri comfortable so we decided to splurge on the reno... Really glad that the house is shaping up nicely...
  4. More carpentry updates... Our relax corner with the laminates on... laminates on my WIW... same design as the one abv but diff color... TV console mounted My shoe cabinet cum bench... My study room table... look kinda of small and weird so have ask the ID to do up a extension
  5. Have been trying hard to solve the steam room prob for the past 2 weeks... Finally we decided to compromise and wait for the things to be delivered (as we really like to have one in our house) and We manage to get the Bathroom Supplies shop to knock $500 off the price tag (after several rounds of talks) ... The steam room has nw been delivered but We have yet to install it... Below r the pict... The stuff coming in bits and pieces... The top completed with lights and fans The Jet Spray for the back The tub...with jaccuzi spray @ the side... kinda of small but no choice since there is space limitation The "electronic" controls for the tub... Come with lightning, fan and radio control... looks kinda of cheapo to me
  6. Currently, There have been some delay to my house as the bathroom supplies got screwed up. I ordered a Steam Room from them and it is suppose to be delivered by last week. Initially they claim they are having prob with fixing the jacuzzi motor into the tub but now they say the shipping company forgot to put it into the container so it will be delayed till 22th Oct earliest. Pretty upset at the moment as I have a feeling they are withhelding the truth and have not done enough to prevent this incident from happening. I am now seeking compensation from them. It seems we can't come to terms on the compensation, now wondering should I go CASE or small claim court. Wonder what is the diff btn this 2?

Hi Rdnest Nice chandelier you have there for the dining room... Saw a similar one at one of the lighting shop in Balestier Rd and was also pretty tempted to buy then also. Will stay tune and keep the picts coming...
  12. Hi... Yeah I was also a bit surprise the effects is good despite assurance from my ID before painting it will turn up fine. Some parts of the wall in white will be covered by wallpaper so stay tune... Yeah... It's a pity but to prevent further prob in the future we opted to forgo the unique floral wall... Currently carpentry works are in progress so I have yet to set a date for the furnitures... Not in a rush now since 7th month is over... In fact some of the lights are up but will wait till all is set before posting...
  13. Hi, Welcome to my thread! C that U have completed yr reno. Any blog or thread I can visit? Hopefully I can complete my reno soon and showcase all my monkey collections...
  14. More than 2 months since I updated the thread. After some discussion between my wife and ID, we decided to change a carpenter as the previous one is really slow in producing the stuffs and can't seems to get what we wanted... And also since it's the 7th Lunar Month, we decided to stop reno for a month and let a new Carpenter redo the work off-site... Fortunately things are finally moving again (P.S Actually it started on the 1st Sep but I was too busy n lazy to update) ... Below are the progress photos... 1st coat Painting in progress After much deliberation and thoughts, we decided to seal off the floral wall in the service yard for the various reasons mentioned in the thread... The finish product... This is actually dark grey but look black in the photo Will provide an update of the other photos soon... Stay tuned...
  15. This 2 - 3 weeks have been veri frustrating. My renovation have not been moving much. The carpentry work is delay for more than 2 weeks with no completion in sight. The sanitary fitting I wanted a few of them have no stock. Even the painter who is suppose to start work today did not show up. According to the ID due to the construction boom, a lot of contractors now got plenty of business and therefore are overwork and understaff. Worse still, as the demand is high they will go for jobs that pay the highest. There are also a shortage of raw materials such as copper and therefore driving up the costs and also causing alot of delays. Any of the fellow members here facing my problem? I am trying veri hard to finish the reno but 20th Jul so that I can move in before the hungry ghost festival but it seems a mammoth task. Anyway here are the photos of some of the light I have bought... Track Light to be place near to the gate (Can rotate any angle) MBR Light My matching side table wall light in MBR
  16. We have also made the final selection for the lights in our house. Below are some of the lights. Will try to post the rest soon. For Bedroom 3 (Spare Room) The blue one with white stripes For Tea Corner Wall Light for the dresser table This is a light that fits perfectly into our monkey corner and a nice item to our monkey collection. (The monkey will swing his leg when touch)
  17. It's been a long time since I update the T-Blog. There have been not much development in my house. The carpentry works are all off site and there have been quite a few delays since. Wrong material use works not up to standard and design not what we wanted. Been trying real hard to get my ID to finish works in 2 weeks time so that I can move in before the 7th month. Keeping my fingers cross... I have also change my mind to plaster smooth the whole house instead of just part of it as I find it quite weird to just do a partial work. Here are the few updates I have... PLC Lights are up in the Living Room and Study Room. Love the effects it have on the various rooms. Bulbs and Lights scattered in the living roo Have also finally decided on the aircon unit. My ID recommended a System 3 and System 2 unit. 1 Blower unit in each of my 3 room and 2 Blower unit in my living room. Had only wanted to go for a single compressor System 4 unit but my ID strongly do not recommend this combination as the living room is huge. So decided to bite the bullet and bought 2 daikin compressor, 3 9000BTU blower and 2 12000BTU blower.
  18. Hi LinDa, Hi... Welcome to my thread. U guess it from my nick n avatar? Yes I am born in 1980 but my wife is born later. End of the day, I really hope both of us have a house we can call home!
  19. Hi Hoppie, Nice house you have there. Since it is already in a move in state, are you planning on any renovation? Like the sunken tub... looks kind of cool...
  20. Update of my house renovation... Wet works are finally over. Yay! Dry works will commence next week. 21. Wow U so "lucky" ... I stay on the second floor and the worst I got is a centipede. U really a perfect animal/ insect lover. Worried abt their safety somemore. For me it will be "destroy" whenever in sight.
  22. Wow. So "lucky". Never encounter one in my house before even though I currently stay on the second floor. They are quite agile right? U must have a difficult time catching them... Agree with U they have 1001 ways to get inside, We just want to reduce the probability of them getting in...
  23. Hi TYM, I bought it for $1000 during the last IT fair. Comes with a Vista Remote Control. There is no keyboard and mouse though. It is veri silent. Perfect with a TV. Agree with you applefreak but one of our concern is also it may also make another "visitors" like cockroach and lizards easier access to the wet kitchen. Haiz really dun know what to do...
