  1. I just went thru the same "excercise". I so hate it!!! They told us don't have liao but I am the sort of person who will not take 'No' for an answer. So I went down personally to Hafary, told them where I stay, they check their computer and the history, records, everything there. Hold-and-behold, they told me they do have the tiles wor. So we conclude...some 'people'...if don't want to do, just say don't have lor. Get the point? But having said all these, there will also be the possibility that the reply is genuine. Bottom line is, get a second opinion lor.
  2. The tiles provided from HDB are in the region of $1.80 - $2.30 per piece if you buy on your own. But if HDB buy from them, they can get it at about $0.80 to $1.20 per piece. Hafary has two outlets: - 15 Defu Ave 1 - 560 Balestier - Telephone: 62501368 Hope it helps...
  3. Cool. They = ? HDB or Tiles Shop? What happen actually?
  4. Hi, is yours a new or old flat? You can find this in Hafary which is one of HDB's Contractor's preferred tile supplier. When you are there, just tell them where you stay and they will know which series your tile is.
  5. hahaha... I like your sense of humour johnseow. If only I knew you before, perhaps I may have a 50% discount for my reno quote which will allow me to use their service liao lor. Cos the 50% could be subsidise by you. wahaha... After all, you are the one who 'built a house' wor. Wowwwww richie rich gab04, not sure if it's too late to tell you this...but if you need more info about ID Emboss, you may look at an article on renotalk.com's home page. There's a job featured there done by one of their ID. My fiance and I were among the group where Hbay arranged for a site visit to the same unit. We shared the same sentiment as the editor of that article. Niceeeeeeeee. Here's the URL http://www.renotalk.com/main/article020108...v0201082008.php Enjoy the process, finding the right ID could be tougher then finding a spouse. hahaha.
  6. correcto...plus we will spend most of our time in the room. If the BTU is not sufficient, it will only make the aircon work harder. It will consume more electricity this way. This is what we have learnt from our aircon studies lah
  7. Hi henrywoo1978, our initial choice was Toshiba actually. Had a proposal from both All Best and also Hong Tar. We did not choose Toshiba in the end as they do not have the ideal BTU breakdown which we require. As you can see, I am using a larger BTU in my MBR/WIW/Study as we hack off the wall. The living/dining room also requires a moderate BTU to subtain. If we were to choose other brands, we may have to take 4 units instead of 3. Thus, this was the most ideal for us. Toshiba can only do up to 2 x 12BTU and 1 x 9BTU for 3 units system. The current Mitsubishi Starmex which I took gives us 18BTU in the MBR/WIW/Study, 13BTU in the Living/Dinning and 9BTU for the common room. Not sure if I make any sense to you hehehe
  8. ah yo...it's funny indeed but let's give people the benefit of the doubt lah. You asked for opinion and people give mah. How you take the advice is entirely up to you lah. World peace... But having said all this, may I please be permitted to comment on them? And please...I do not work or own that company hor? You can see my ratings Ok...we were first introduced to this company by Hbay. Recommendation from Hbay will be embedded with some form of reliability as Hbay would not want to have their reputation tarnished in any ways. Should there be any dispute between the client and the ID they recommended, Hbay could still be able to assist in rectification. This was what I was told by some of my friends who introduced me to Hbay lah. The lady whom served us was by far THE BEST...I must say. If it's not for budget, plus my knowledge in the design and creative aspect...I would have gone ahead to use her. Till now, she still bothers to acknowledge me and offer her assistance (if I required) when I bumped into her on the road. Please bear in mind, she already lost our deal. My fiance and I never fail to talk and recommend her service to our friends who requires an ID. Plenty of goods we can think of about this lady...only bad is we have no budget to engage an ID as well. Her passion and non-obligation assistance always make me and my fiance say "If only we have that budget, will definitely give the deal to her". It's not often you meet an ID who is so pleasant and RESPONSIBLE thru out...especially when she's not really a newbie. Think she's been in this industry for 3-4 years...if I am not mistaken. We have send a couple of 'Thank You' emails to IDs whom we rejected but non of them even bother to write back to acknowledge us. She did. It makes **** of a difference for my fiance and I. With this, I will be happy to share with all what we wrote to her when we could not use her and what she wrote back to us for the reply. For those who would like to have her contact, please PM me. I will be happy to share her contact with you. You can judge for yourself. I think it's a matter of both giving each other the chance to see if there's a match in chemistry...which is also important for the reno work. .................................................................................................... ................................................... 6 Oct 2008 Dear J, Hi how have you been coping? Hoped all is well and buzz for you in the ID industry. On the subject of rendering your service for our humble pad at Segar Road, we regret to inform you that we have decided to take up the offer from another firm. This is purely because of budget, plus they have come very highly recommended, with strings of good testimonials from their previous customers. Their offer has allowed us to meet more of our ‘wants’ in fulfilling our dream house. Believe me; no one is as disappointed as S and I, as we have enjoyed that chemistry which we have built with you. Your company is indeed blessed to have such a pleasant employee like you. Always willingly, patience and never failing to offer your non-obligation assistance. Well, life is filled with many opportunities. You can never know, our path may still meet in the future. Till then, we will not hesitate to recommend you to any of our friends who require an ID service. I have enclosed a limited edition of “The Design Hotels Year Book 2007” for you. Hope you can find some inspiration in one of those pages to bring you to a next level of creativity. Keep well and thank you for your great follow-ups, H & S .................................................................................................... ................................................... 7 Oct 2008 Dear H and S, Thank you for the token of appreciation. I'm really delighted to receive it although I've sense that most probably I've lost the "battle". Nevertheless, this is really very thoughtful of you and S plus a very powerful encouragement. I'm really appreciate and touch from the bottom of my heart. Thank you & glad that you and S appreciate my follow ups, services and passions on designing your house. This is definitely not the end of our relationships, I am still open to queries even if it is for your current renovation works, so please do not hesitate to enquire. Will be definitely grateful to meet you and S in future for more design works. Lastly, once again thank you very much! Cheers!! 11. haha...me also made a commitment with Hong Tar this morning. Here are my specs. I was served by Katherine Wong. I like her down to earth, transparent and non-pushing approach. Hope my installation will go smoothly as planned too.... 13. Huh? Did I read one room for mum and one room for MIL? You have both mothers staying with you ah? Steady sia
  14. Mattress for me. We already bought our bedframe from Lorenzo. Btw, today's newspaper...there's an adv on SERTA 30% discount storewide, inclusive of choices of gifts.
  15. The Bombshelter Feature Hi, may I ask if this is wallpaper or laminate? I see you have two 'consealed' door behind those beautiful bombshelter feature?
  16. Oh I heard it's about Euro 80. My kitchen is going to be red and silver, so the silver one fits our theme to the T. Arggg...can't wait to lay my hands on it when my friend comes back from Europe. Btw, I heard there are several replica. Some have been seen in Bangkok as well. I read you bought the last piece? Good on you
  17. OMG! I have no idea they sell it in Singapore. I just ordered my set thru a friend who will be returning from Europe. I am so crazy about this voodoo knives set. You know anywhere else selling in Singapore? Don't mind having 2 sets!
  18. Ok, count me in. I am interested in a QUEEN...Sophistifaction (only if it's really a good offer) or Missouri. Thanks a million. Do PM me if there's any progress as I may not read the daily updates here
  19. hahaha good try I forgot to mention that $3390 is for a Queen and it includes all the mattress/pillow protector, sheeps and the bench chair as mentioned by hobbes187. If you do not want the bench, they can give a slight discount of $60 I think or we can replace with a set of bedsheets. I found the name card, the guy from PS is Joel and the lady from IMM is Wanda. Both are pleasant. Wanda is nice and non pushy whilst Joel is very knowledgeable and sincere. We like the feel of Sophistication the best...among their range but may settle for a Skyline or Missouri due to budget. Times are not bright ahead...we have to be careful with every penny
  20. I was quoted $3390 in the last 2 weeks. Particularly like the sales person in Plaza Singapore. Can't remember his name. He is quite big size and knowledgeable.
  21. Hi hey, those are IKEA's? The one that I was talking about is different. See picture below. So how much did you spent in total in the end?
  22. Yo, actually the ikea wooden planks are also one of my choices too. Not sure if they will be more expensive thou...
