  1. Hi there, Just a little post where we finally settled down to write about our experience on the renovation works to our kitchen. Our place had undergone HDB’s HIP in August2016. Thereafter, we met up with a few IDs and we finally settled on Renoguyz. I had been following some renovation blogs and had chanced upon Renoguyz and having seen some reviews, decided to message them for a meet up. They are social media efficient as mentioned in their Facebook page. This ensures faster overall progress compared to other contractors, as we have noticed. Our kitchen project ended up with their staff, Brayden and Alan. The whole works were mainly handled by Alan with Brayden overseeing it. I was at first a bit apprehensive as Alan had just joined Renoguyz and I wasn’t sure about his credentials. Over the course of 2-1/2 months, Alan however proved his overall professionalism. Despite the several ongoing changes that we made, he was always patient, ready to listen, giving valuable input. He was also ever ready to learn new ideas that we had brought up. A humble personality that is always cheerful and smilley. Of course in every renovation project, hiccups are bound to happen. Alan was quick to address and rectify the mistakes made, regardless of whose mistake it was. All applied corrections were adequate and satisfying. We were very happy to even receive a wonderful gift from Alan to enhance the joy of cooking in a brand new kitchen. Overall, we are happy with the final results of the whole kitchen project, and we can definitely recommend Alan Leong from Renoguyz to turn your renovation plans into reality. Alan is reachable at 8511-1444. Below are pics of our kitchen before and after the renovation.
  2. Hi everyone! My first post on Renotalk after being a silent reader for the past few months! Like many, I browsed through many T-blogs during my renovation journey where I have learnt a lot and gained numerous ideas and useful information on renovation. A big thank you to all the bloggers that took time to blog about their renovation experience. My renovation has been completed and I have just moved in. I would like to document our renovation journey to share with all and as keepsake of the exciting times. I enjoyed my renovation journey as I find it fun and exciting. Though it could be tiring (going to our house to check the progress before or after work, endless shopping during the weekend, co-ordination of the various delivery etc) and frustrating (arguing with hubby on the many decisions to be made), it was overall a smooth process and a very memorable, enjoyable and engaging experience for my hubby and I. For those who have yet to start their renovation, I wish you a wonderful and smooth renovation journey. Thanks for reading! First things first - the floor plan of my unit: Floor area is 114sqm. One thing I don't like about the layout is the small kitchen and the wasted space of 4 planter boxes. I like this unit because the balcony and the 3 rooms have a panoramic view of the reservoir. The unit is bright and airy and is walking distance to an upcoming MRT station that will open in 2017.
  3. Hi everyone!! Finally decided to start a t-blog after reading so much from Renotalk for the past 2 months! We only started planning for our renovation after we got our key in June 2014. Didnt realise that it really takes a lot of time and effort to plan for a reno and I strongly advise anyone who have not started planning to start at least 2-3 months before the key collection. We started off by deciding on the theme for our house. We browsed through many home design pictures on the internet which are of modern minimalist, scandinavian, industrial theme etc. They all look nice but none of the pics made us feel like.. OK! This is it! .... Therefore, we spent quite some time deciding on our theme. There were many changes to our initial ideas, themes and concepts along the way before we finally settled on Greek(Santorini) inspired beach theme. WX (my fiance) and I both fell in love with Greece after we had our holiday there in Dec 2013. I have always love the beach, the sea, etc... and WX proposed to me on a beach in Green Island, Cairns... so we both feel that a Greek-inspired beach home has a special meaning for both of us. There are also other reasons for choosing this theme, such as WX likes blue and I like green, and since we will be living together, our place will comprise of blue-green (turquoise), which also fits in our Greek inspired beach theme. Also, I love to have wooden furniture in the house and so beach theme is a good choice for us! In short, when this idea of Greek inspired beach theme came to our mind, both of us got very excited and we knew that Ok! This is it! This is the theme that we are looking for.
