In the app, go to your profile, open Settings and activity, then Messages and story replies, and switch off Show activity status. So if you are asking how do i appear offline on instagram, that setting will remove the green dot and the “Active now” or last active information from your profile in messages. You can still browse Instagram, post, and send DMs normally. One thing to keep in mind is that once you hide your own activity status, you also lose the ability to see when other people are active.
