Curtains Help

Recommended Posts

I just done up my curtains and rollerblinds with JWT curtains for my new hse in Ponggol. Guess what, i did a random survey and found tht the price quoted to me is 30-40% lesser frm market price, i think i save close to $800 compare to the quote I got from retail shops! . I used to think that curtains are a waste of money and are expensive furnishing stuffs ... now no need to go JB or Batam to get cheap curtains maker anymore...

Was very satisfied with the completed look and the fabric offered too. btw they does wallpaper, blinds, upholstery as well at very competitive rates. Will get him to do up my parents flat soon.

Anyone interested can call Mr Tay at 86417199, visit website: www.jwtcurtains.com

Hi all,

I strongly recommend Vincent. His service is really excellent and passed my expectation. :good:

Before i met vincent, i have a "nasty" encounter with another curtain guy. He was late for the appt for abt half an hr, didnt bothered to call until I have to check with him. Finally he arrived with big bags of samples. Then he just take measurements, etc and quoted me a price. When i said i wanted to consider, he was not pleased and lamented that he took a cab from expo with the samples and etc. He said he understand if I want to compare the price with others. However since mine is just those mickey mouse condo, i might as well let him "earn" the few dollars to cover his taxi expenses and etc. Boy....was i mad :furious: because my fren told me he can go down site to take measurement without obligations. In the end, i managed to brush him off.

I have seriously considered of not meeting vincent after the encounter. So i check with him whether that his quotation on site is of no obligation. He assured me and hence we met. He reached 15mins earlier. Amazing, he checked out the surrounding, measurement n offered me advice of what kind of curtains or rollers are suitable. Also offer advised that if i were to take full length of the curtains, i would block the walking way around the bed. He offered me all the pros, cons and different rates. Also told me the different types of curtains and etc. It was so much different experience from the first curtain guy. As the price is within my budget (he give discount as i told him i got his number from this forum. :D ) and also with his excellent service, without doubts, i took my curtains with him on the spot.

Today he came and installed the curtains with his sister. A very thoughtful guy. Before he put everything down and start to drill, he laid protective sheets on the grounds to prevent scratches. When he drilled, he use a cover to collect the debris so that it would not dirty the floor. He even taught me how to fold the curtains to make it look nice instead of cuttered at the bottom. As he didnt have enough change for the balance amount and i was trying my best to fish for the exact change, he told me do not bother with the last few dollars. His offer taken me by surprise. But of cos, i insisted on giving him the exact amount. He also followup up a sms with me after the day of installation checking if i like my curtains. He told me that quite alot of business are from this forum. Actually i am also one of it who got his number from here. Therefore thanks to who who recommend him here. Hence i would also like to share my experience here. :good:

Hi everyone,

Based on the feedback that many forumers gave, hubby and I visited MGL at Eminent Plaza and looked for May Cheong.

We are very pleased with her service (speaks mandarin). Very knowledgeable and was able to recommend off the back

of the hand based on our vague ideas of what we want. My son is allergic to dust mites and she was able to tell us the

pros and cons of our different options - we decided on a no-frills roller blind that is anti-dust, easy to maintain and

hardy! Price is HALF of another quotation we got from a shop along Balestier Rd (which I later read on forum that it is

a carrot shop!!). Roller blinds and timber blinds for my 5 room flat were ready in 10 days. Installation done in 1hr and

the whole process is fuss-free. I LIKE!

2) how to install 2 rods on a single window?

3) how to hide it within the ceiling? Etc.. Hotel style..

Any1 experienced thru? Can advise?

:)

I assume you are referring to pelmet where you can hide the curtain rods and you may need to look for contractor to do it.

As for 2 rods on a single window you just need a bracket that can hold 2 rods that should be fine but I think it may be difficult to find as demand is low. 2 rods are very thick!!

Hope that helps.

Cheer =)

I think I'll be killed if I'm using $1k jz for 1 set of curtains for the whole house! Not forgetting, still got to have 1 more set to stand-by washing..

My's 3 room premium, so my curtains will be ceiling to floor; 1 'day + blackout' & 2 'day + night' curtains required. My home design theme is modern baroque and modern french hence the fabrics will be posh to the extend of even (maybe) velvet! Anyone is advIse est. how much from ikea and/ or spotlight??

If we getting the curtains fabrics n robs from ikea or spotlight,

1) do they install in?

Anyone knows where to get the replacement parts such as buttom string and buttom weight for Vertical blinds?

Hi, I suggest you to go back to where you bought the vertical blinds for the parts. Coz each shop buy their goods from different origins and of different quality. So its not easy to match the parts if bought elsewhere. =)
