According to him, the cause of it is due to water seeping through the edge between the wall and bath tub (around its perimeter) when water splashes on it. This results in water collecting at the bottom of the bath tub. The plumber recommended a simple solution, which is to seal part of perimeter edge (1x length and 1 x breath) to prevent water from seeping through at the edge (joint between the bath tub and wall). He mentioned about chemical treatment included and quoted a cost of $100. I appreciate any comment if the quoted price is reasonable ? Also, would it be a better solution if I carry out a DIY or better to have the plumber do it ? What would be the sealant recommended for use that I can get it at the retail store.
