Your condo management will have the designs and colors that you need to adhere to for standardization.

I think when you collect keys that time, some grille suppliers likely will put up display and contacts on site.

I did mine from metalcraft.

Packing was a nightmare.

My wife and I only started packing the day before the movers.

Moving is a good way to get rid of junks. Threw alot of things away.

In the end, we packed until 4am next day and we did not pack those small fragile items and leave them in the store.

We will shift those ourselves slowly.

For big items, we only took 4 fans, 8 stools, 1 ironing board, 1 fridge and 1 sofa bed to our new place.

Our cloths, books, documents, loose items took up 20 boxes.

Other big items such as display cabinets, shoe cabinet, mahjong table & chairs, exercise bike went to my parents' and uncle's place.

My ID did a good job before handing over. Up to now, I only paid 50% of the contract :P

Just settled the final payment (50% of (contract+vos)) yesterday.

My contractor told me that got 5 years warranty for tiling (I did not do tiling) and 2 years warranty for carpentry works :)

It was stated in the terms and conditions of the contract which I overlooked.

Hey I used to stay in Yew Tee block 640. Very nice and peaceful area there. And you are right about packing/unpacking/shifting. I so hate that. I think I have moved easily 4 or 5 times the last 5 years because I was renting a place, and moving overseas.

Well, good for you. Your place looks good. Congrats!

hihi i'm keen in your lights with IC...can i know how much you've gotten then and whereabts did you buy them?

Ceiling lights (3x36W daylight with IC to toggle 2, 1, 3 tubes) at guest room and study room

<img src="http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk19/sgpitbull/New%20residence/RenoInProgress/20090511%20Lighting/IMG_0212.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

Ceiling light (3x36W daylight with IC to toggle 2, 1, 3 tubes)) at MBR

<img src="http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk19/sgpitbull/New%20residence/RenoInProgress/20090511%20Lighting/IMG_0214.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

3 set of 1x10W (warm white) at MBR bay window

Note that the worker cracked the false ceiling when pushing the light in...need to touch up again

<img src="http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk19/sgpitbull/New%20residence/RenoInProgress/20090511%20Lighting/IMG_0215.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

Now that the lights are connected, the 2-way switch with LEDs are working

<img src="http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk19/sgpitbull/New%20residence/RenoInProgress/20090511%20Lighting/IMG_0222.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

Tip 1:

If you have idea on the placement of PLC light especially in toilets, kitchen, yard etc, you may want to mark with pencil on the ceiling.

Or mark them during discussion with foreman.

If not, what you communicated with the foreman may not be communicate to the workers and they assume where you want them to be <img src="http://www.renotalk.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

Tip 2:

If unlucky, the lights you purchased from light shop may not be all working.

For example, out of my 16 sets of 2x13W PLC downlight, 3 tubes got problems and 1 ballast got problem.

Luckily, Homefix is just downstairs and I can easily get replacement for installation.

I go down light shop for 1-to-1 exchange when I am free. The extra will be kept as spare for future.
