I bought most of my custom design teak furniture from Echoes of the East. For those who are into custom designing their own teak wood furniture, the shop is located at 374 East Coast Road S428983. Look for the lady boss called Mary. She is a very staunch Christian so naturally she would be very honest and I have no issues with any of my furniture all these years. :good: For those who like to change their furniture every few years, then teak wood furniture is not for you as they are built to last a lifetime.

Westpoint design sofa: Spent $1800 on a 3 seater leather sofa n sofa's leather started cracking, peeling and flaking after a year. Went back to them and all they could do was quote another $1200 to re-wrap.

Yet another victim of PU Leather, also known as Bi Cast Leather. I am also a victim of PU Leather but in a different way, I invested in those stupid S Chip China stocks and one of which was Sinotech Fibre, one of the largest manufacturers of PU Leather. Lost $25K on just this counter alone :furious::bangwall::curse::bleah: I now termed it as PUI PUI Leather. All local furniture retailers who order their furniture from these China Con Man Factories ought to be 8|

I purchased a leather sofa from St Louis Pte Ltd at The Furniture Mall and 6 months later the hairline cracks started to appear. I was puzzled and tried calling the shop a few times and managed to speak with the manager. I was told that the leather required frequent maintenance, which we did. Then she added that it was likely due to perspiration as it has to be wiped immediately. When my family and I were in the shop, the sales promoter didn't inform us about this and when we questioned about quality and durability of the leather she used a sharp object to cut it and demonstrated to us that the leather was indeed of good quality. We could have chosen a sofa that best suited to our home condition if we were told of this. The shop refused to take any ownership on this issue and quoted us $800 to refurnish one seat and $900plus for 3 seats. And the 3-seater sofa we bought was $1500.

I decided to approach CASE and they spent 3 months trying to get response from the shop to settle this matter amicably. However, the shop didn't bother to response or explain anything about the issue. Recently, they informed the Furniture Association and gave them the final and harsh warning letter but it was to no avail. CASE advised me to lodge a complaint to the Small Claim Tribunal, which they had been telling me to do so, as they have no legislative power. Our initial intention was to let the shop realised that the sales promoter was misleading customers and they should review their sales tactic. Of course, its certainly a bonus to us if they are willing to pay fully or partially for the refurnish. However, to our great disappointment, they are totally avoiding the matter and refuse to even talk about it. This clearly shows their guilt.

It is a lot of hassle to lodge a complaint to SCT and thru SCT we can definitely meet them face to face. However, the chance of getting anything is unknown. Hence, we decided not to pursue any further. There is nothing much I could do now except to spread the words around through internet and forums so that more people are aware and boycott the shop. I am unsure about the effectiveness as I did a google search on the shop name I saw a number of complaints and the shop is still surviving so well and is still a member in the Furniture Association. Nevertheless, I still want to make an attempt. Please help to spread the words. Thank you!

I just bought my sofa from Furniture Collection center @ Sungei kadut, It's a 2.9m L-Shape fabric sofa. SGD1450. It's a custom made because I like the length and the leg-room design, my wife like the fabric. So the person-in-charge suggest we custom made it provided we can wait for 6-8weeks. It's not branded but just to our liking.

Do you guys think it's ex for a fabric sofa?

Did anyone of you have been to Lifespace Concept? It's a new shop located at 24 Sin Ming Lane. The product designs are very attractive especially our branded sofa from innovation - a denmark company.

We are having sale storewide and just for info last week we introduce a 70% OFF on our decorative lights and the sale is still on.

So if you are thinking of buying or maybe trying to browse for new stuff Lifespace concept is one of the shop that should visit.

where's OM?

what's the price like from sofaandothers?

Checked for a 2.5m length sofa by email with sofaandothers and it costs $3.5k. The design was frm their website an it comes with two laminate moveable side tables cum arm.

Their branch at Toh Guan is just a warehouse, no sofa to see or anything. FYI
