Anyone Installed Water Heater, Including Wiring?

Recommended Posts

Old HDB, got no heater point in the bathroom. Called some contractor and was quoted 100+ for installation including wiring. As explained, the wiring is just connect from some power point outside the bathroom directly into the heater. No power point in the bathroom. Sounds quite simple, thinking of DIY. But just worried about the insulation of water. How to ensure water will not go in the heater?

Anyone got such experience? Of should I just ask professionals to do it?

Thanks.

Water heaters draws a high power. The concept is quite straight forward, but if you DIY, u run the risk of overloading parts of your internal circuits. Its better to seek professional help, unless you know how to check for those.

Replacing an old one maybe can DIY cos all the old wiring has already been laid. My storage heater is wired to a 20Amp isolator

go ahead and DIY that. i tried and it really was as simple as a few wirings. if u are worried about water insulation, can get some silicon glue to seal up the cable part.
