Ely1 0 Report post Posted October 26, 2010 Hello all, As I'm embarking on this crazy journey to creating a home I love, I've found my first obstacle is the hand-drawn floorplan that came from the MCST. It's an old property, so the floor plan does not indicate measurements/structural columns etc - who/what do I need to draw up a floor plan so I can start contacting some ID firms? Or, do I submit the hand-drawn plan, and get the selected ID firm to do it? (Not sure if they have enough information from the floor plan to devise some design ideas especially when I'd be hacking walls and such) Can I DIY with a surveyor and someone who has experience with measurements, then getting a draftsman to generate a CGI? Or do I need a PE, an architect, etc? Thanks in advance! -Ely
