edenstrauss 3 Report post Posted October 29, 2010 (edited) I would like to have vanity drawers created under all my windows becox I have alot of excessive space under those windows. The storage space created would help me to streamline my belongings and neaten my home. However, whenever there is heavy rain, water would seep through from the crevices of the flat's exterior and make its way into one of these potential places through the walls that I intend to set up the vanity drawers. Most of the contractors whom I spoke to, told me to get HDB to mend those crevices before installing any wooden cabinets there. However, this isn't possible because that part of the flat is heavily weathered under the afternoon sun. Mend it today and nobody knows when it'll start cracking up again. As such, one of my regular contractors recommended that I install mini sliding doors made of aluminium with PVC panels. They would probabbly last for a lifetime because those are the most durable - definitely waterproof because they are of the same materials as those of sliding toilet doors. However, it reminded me of those vanity doors installed under ceramic stoves in the kitchen. I reckoned that it's going to look... awful And I am thinking about getting the contractor to source for phenolic resin panels but I am not sure if those are waterproof. Or whether they'll last? Does anyone here have an idea? Or are there alternatives to what the contractor recommended? Thanks in advance! Edited October 29, 2010 by edenstrauss
