Wood Surace Vinyl Tile

Recommended Posts

Has anyone done wood-surface vinyl tile flooring before?

I was told it cost like ceramic but has a parquet feel. Also, easy to maintain and much longer lasting.

Any brands to recommend?

PS: Sorry, should be wood surface, typo error :)

Hi Darren,

What is your opinion on :

Overlaying vinyl tiles over ceramic and parquet flooring? Assuming its an >10yr old house.

*Should we hack away existing flooring for both or either one?

* What about the groove lines between ceramic floor? Some say it will appear over time unless we do a cement layer.

* I always wonder what happen when we wash the floor with wet mop? Will water get traps under the vinyl and get moldy overt time?

There are just too many types in the market with various different name. I think most of them are just different composite of wood and vinyl inside. I've shortlisted some (None from China).

Hi TS,

Wood design vinyl tiles is a very good fuss free option if you have existing flooring (Tiles / cement) that you would like to cover up.

Thickness of vinyl tiles range from 2 to 5mm and it's easy to install and you may even try to DIY. Due to the material being thin, your existing doors

may not need trimming too. Vinyl tiles are easy to clean and are used quite extensively in shopping centers and restaurants.

You may visit www.vinyl.com.sg for more information.

Cheers
