jaxel 0 Report post Posted January 7, 2013 Dear all, recently went to gc to look at aircon. was looking at toshiba system 3,but salesman said only the compresser is made in jap, the entire condenser is still made in thailand. plus the condenser spec is actually 20btu, but there is smth inside tat boost it to 23btu.he proceed to recommend hitachi(2800,sys 3), say tat gc believe in hitachi so much until they wan to tak all e stocks and becum e only one selling it. say hitachi is all fully made in malaysia, hence supposedly better qc than thailand. hitachi condenser is 24 btu and of all the aircons is most powerful n cold(i tested it, it is really damm cold even fr a distance, but i nt sure wat temp n fan speed he set la) he then push to get extended warrently(5yrs- 359), say he seen many times aircon spoil due to motherboard spoil, sensor spoil etc etc. hence get extended warranty unlimited labour, parts n transport.... if nt jus need aircon electronic parts spoil 1 time nia, will cost at least 600 for parts only. there is not much review i can get fr e net on hitachi aircons. may i ask tat if anyone uses hitachi aircon? if so how is it? reliable? and if extended warrenty is really needed for aircons in general? or shld i jus get bak toshiba? sorry for the long post... and thanks in advace for all comments/advise given!
