Help Needed. Looking For Old Tiles For Leaking Toilet Ceiling Repair.

Recommended Posts

My lower floor neighbour's toilet is leaking. HDB contractor has arranged repair next week which involves removing the floor tiles and lowest row of wall tiles to apply non-shrink grout and installation of waterproofing membrane before screeding and retiling.

I was told the practice is to use the same floor tiles supplied by HDB for the wall unless I get my own tiles. I prefer to use wall tiles of similar texture and color to the existing ones. I bought the wall tiles from Soon Bee Huat in 2003

SBH WT TABARCA BLANCO. ROCERSA CERAMIC. Made in Spain. 20x25cm

I have visited Soon Bee Huat@Toh Guan. This tile is no longer available. Mr Ricky Lu from Soon Bee Huat is helpful and tried to find matching tiles for me. Unfortunately, we can't find a match but I would recommend Soon Bee Huat if you are looking for tiles.

I have also checked with Lian Seng Hin at Balestier which offers only 20cmx20cm plain white tile, Hup Kiong which redirect me to White Horse at Balestier Point which offer no solution.

Please let me know if you have any recommendation where to look for similar tiles (20cm width). I would also suggest anyone renovating their bathroom/toilet/kitchen to keep one row of wall tiles as spares in case you get into a situation like me. Thank you.

Hi Marie, I cannot find the wall tile and have to use the same floor tile for the lowest row of wall tiles. Now hoping to replace all the wall tiles because a number of them have developed hairline cracks.
