Transformer For Halogen Lights

Recommended Posts

Hi, hope someone can help me.

I'm using halogen lights for my dinning table. Recently, my lights weren't working (been using for about 1mth). Transformer was damaged, so I change to a new one - phillips yesterday. But I only on for 30mins and the lights weren't working. Took out the transformer and can smell burn, the coil area was hot.

Is transformer so fragile? Or what's wrong? 1 transformer isn't cheap ler.

HUH? :P

Did you bring the spoilt one to the shop to buy the new one?

you mean after changing the transformer, you turn on the lights and they were ok for 30mins, after that ;

1) smoke came out from the transformer? and you need to reset the MCB?

2) the lights were turned OFF by itself and nothing jumps in your MCB?

3) are you using a dimmer?
