  1. ahaha. u r looking too hard! dun worry la. cos u know where is de joinin edge, so u can see. for others, dey most likely wun even notice
  2. ya, i tink cna use velcro, no need drill. cos the string curtains are basically quite light =)
  3. my ID today was tokin abt vo. seems like nothing added leh. only de extra 2 things i ask him to do. like plastering up the hole in my mbr wall to align with the other wall, n box up de aircon trunking along the walkway. nothing else in my VO liao. even the fridge n washing machine base which de masonry guys accidentally do, i dun wan. i ask him hack off de fridge base n either extend de washing machine base / hack off. he oso not charging me. cos not my prob.
  4. hehe. went curtain shopping today. after all the sourcing ard, finally signed curtains (living + mbr) from mgl curtains at lavender street. cost a total of 900bucks for this 2 curtains (only night curtains somemore) selected a few materials, not sure which to select yet, but they are all in de 19.80/meter range. so, can juz sign on the spot. dey'll be coming over my place nxt sat to measure n finalise on the materials, since nxt wk, there shuld be more or less some painting done at my new place after curtain shopping, went over to raffles place to purchase my knife set after seeing it in someone's blog! in the box: assembled:
  5. haha. i oso decided to close one eye n go with silver color. cos 1k more is really damaging to the pockets
  6. wow. de solid surface really nicely done. hardly see. or rather cannot see anything
  7. hehe. i forget to ask for his advise nah. it's not late yet red: 2 + 1(hubby) + 0.5(me!) white: 2 + 0.5(me) black: 0 yeah!! so red is leading now!!
  8. went to meet my ID today to basically look at the reno progress n nego any stuffs that there might be. saw the skirting in dining n whole home all completed: more here: at the same time, the workers were doing plastering in the mbr bathroom: (see the mess on the tiles in de mbr bathroom ) n the new stainless steel pipes done by the plubmer. it seems plumbing works have all completed too: my electrician working hard here: how messy my living wiring is: my ugly yellow rubbish chute: yeah! finally have the chance to go into the common bathroom: closeup of the tiles in the common bathroom: my completed mosaic n design tiles: last but not least! trouble!! the masonry workers were so hardworking to add in an extra base for washer n fridge. but prob is, i dun wan it!! n de size does not fit de fridge. washer one oso too small!! ask to extend/hack off washer base depending on which is easier for them. n oso request tat fridge base have to go no matter wat. so need to rectify again the irritating fridge base
  9. erms... let me check with my 2 frens who oso did with renozone as to how's deir VO like. cos so far i know from them, dey accidentally spoilt their old door frame n he did it for them FOC. maybe it's becos a diff of ID? i'm not too sure. so i can't say anything. btw, wat u mean by drove such a hard bargain?
  10. so currently dere's a vote of: red: 1 + 1(hubby) + 0.5(me!) white: 2 + 0.5(me) black: 0 let me seek my ID's advise.
  11. haha. but the ID oredi choose to tile up de wall. n if i laminate over, wun it be like wasting his guy's effort to tile up the wall? i think the black looks great as a contrast. dun think i wanna pretend to make the wall look like part of the cabinet. hehe. must slowly read. not tat hard to understand but the whole kitchen oredi very black. so thinking if using black again, like no contrast yup. was thinkin of either using red or white. white will make de place look bigger. but red will give the place more contrast. hubby is voting for red. n i'm sort of half/half red/white
  12. haha. n must hope hubby dun c this post oso
  13. i guess most ID suggest using smaller tiles, esp for areas where waterproofing is required. cos the bigger the tile, the harder it is to waterproof, or rather harder to ensure that it will not leak in future.
  14. thanx for the contact! hehe. ur hm is coming along nicely too
  15. erms.. i do keep savings apart from hubby. but we oso have a common acct. he knows my pay, n i knows his pay. every mth we set aside an amt pre discussed based on our pay n put it in our common acct. watever excess fr our own spending money goes into our personal acct. he does not keep from me de amt in his personal acct n neither do i. but of cos i wun purposely go check how much is in his acct n he wun check how much is in my personal acct. since it's personal, watever he does in tat acct i wun interfere. n neither will he interfere in mine
  16. y do u need to buy sand on ur own?
  17. great! now i know where to buy. but must buy secretly. cos hubby will scold if he knows i spend so much on knife -_-"
  18. after seeing how the kitchen looks out with the tiles. had some questions in my mind. like wat color for the full height cabinet nxt to the island. cos somehow after we take over the house, realise the wall nxt to de island is not-hackable. original 3d with full wall hackable: based on full tiling done in kitchen wall: suggestion needed as to wat color full height cabinet should be in: ideas? suggestions? thanx!
  19. wow. nice tiles here! wish i had seen it earlier
  20. hehe. yesh!! i can't control myself n somehow i went to my new home again after work total disaster, cos there was practically no lights in de house. all tat i c in my house are done with taking pics n seeing from de pics actually one of the main reason y i went down, is to ensure dat the plaster guys remove the sliding doors above my mbr windows instead of juz plastering over it the removed sliding doors abv mbr windows: my mbr bathroom: (yeah!! mosaic tiles are finally up!) my mbr flooring oso done: glimpse of my common bathroom (kitchen floor is wet n no lights all ard, i dare not venture into de kitchen): (notice my yellow rubbish chute at the corner? y use yellow?? yucks! i wan red! ) overview of my finally completed kitchen: (happy!! nicely tiled too ) missing skirting in my dining area: n somemore missing here : hopefully everything gets rectified soon. plastering oso not yet complete, i cant really see in de dark. but i know they need to get it all done by monday! cos my aircon guys are coming
