  1. I have a Philips soundbar and I've tested a Yamaha one before, cannot compare.. Yamaha sound quality is miles ahead, but so is the price!! Go for Yamaha if your budget allows and if you are an audiophile.. But Yamaha does not have integrated DVD player so Philips wins if you are looking for overall package.. The new 8141 model should be launched soon, so don't get the 8140 for now.
  2. Ah ! I didnt get to why Murphy's law is true...That's because our reno was still lacking things like plumbing installation, internal doors, general cleaning, final lighting fixtures..and look what arrived ?? ONE mth early.....our dining table and chairs !! we wanted to reschedule it earlier, BUT the boss never confirmed anything. he just changed the date and didnt inform us. imagine if we were travelling or what...how they gonna send ? see my filthy floors and my cellophane wrapped chairs and table
  3. Chpt 14 : Murphy's Law Granite installation next. We confirmed with the nice aunty our black galaxy piece for the kitchen and emerald pearl for the toilets. discovered that the price for the granite is same price as the solid top quoted me by ID. After many rounds of amendments by the carpenter for the 2 toilets vanity..(delay by 1 wk plus) we finally resigned to fate and accepted the short thin and ugly cabinet. Finally the granite guy could do his work on the cabinets and the glass guy could do his bit. Granite guy also had some problems as the sizes were out and they had to amend size and dimension. End result is something like this for common bathroom little tulip common bath light dressing table mirror dark tinted glass panel for WIW
  4. For the mosaic-lovers, here's the completed look of our bathroom.. Laying out all the mixers and accessories.. Handshower & mixer installed.. Our fav part in the bathroom, the GROHE Rainshower..
  5. It's another exhausting day at our new place, waiting for several stuff to be delivered and installed.. The wifey is so tired she didn't even transfer the pictures from the camera to the PC.. Things we got delivered today, our living room TV, our Philip soundbar, our sofa, our fridge, some small coffee tables and our carpets. Things we got installed today, our LPG gas tanks for the island hob, our Gateman digital lock and finally our dinning light is up.. Will post some pictures once we transfer it out from the camera..
  6. Hi charemme, The glass panel is done up by the ID so we don't actually know the real cost becos his quote 100% sure got mark-up one.. Lemme go dig thru my ID quote and let you know the cost of the glass..
  7. The sink, tap, detergent bottle are all from Bellari. Their shop is at 117, Jalan Besar. They have a few versions and length of the sink, depending on whether you want to mount the tap on the sink itself or mount it on the kitchen top. We have checked on the price for Teka, Franke, SMEG for square edge professional sinks and so far Bellari is the most budget-friendly for us.. The whole sink + acessories came up to be around 700 or 800 plus if I remember correctly..
  8. Chpt 13: Finishing touches Last few items to be changed before our reno is done. re-laminated the reddish main door to a nice black with gold woodgrain design just push back our door and it holds! no need to put stopper... it holds based on this ball bearing that locks in place the pretty gold woodgrain design kitchen glass door and fixed glass panel put in place our industrial sink and black galaxy granite top
  9. Hopefully it wouldn't be too crowded!! But then again, we might have more amenities when there are more houses around.. Good and bad i guess.
  10. We got the SC 600mm track which cost us around $193.. Different series of track and different length has different prices, but generally it's around 190+ for 600mm, 220-240 for the 800mm tracks.. We didn't take note of prices for lengths longer than 800mm. All tracks will come with 3 adapters and we got our electrician to install it.. Installation is pretty easy actually if you are handy with a drill and screwdriver.. In fact, eubiq has promotion packages from time to time with free installation, you might want to give them a call to find out if there are any promotions now.
  11. You can check the price out it at Choo Chiang too. Which series of Clipsal? Different price for different range, also depends on the usage, 2-way switches cost quite a fair bit.. The Neo series like this? Or Zencelo? The Legrand Mallia and Mosaic series also very nice..
  12. You get can it at any HomeFix.. Standard length are 600mm, 800mm, 1000mm & 1200mm. The track is rated up to 40A, and it can support up to 16 adapters per meter. I ran a separate point to the DB and have a master 20A switch which is right next to the track. Haven't actually tested multiple devices on it yet, most likely I will use it for my KitchenAid mixer, rice-cooker & my Nespresso Aeroccino cos the track only comes with 3 free adapters. http://www.eubiq.com
  13. hihi, Congrats on ure new home ! We also have an industrial design for our kitchen. we initially cement screed....but then painted over it cuz the screed made my kitchen look darker. u can easily paint the screed to a color u like...Gd luck for the rest of your reno

  16. Here's a few candid shots taken at the place....at various stages of work-in-progress walkway of color aircon installation being done in studyroom master bathroom lighting and the last time i see those ferny prints (i hope!) kitchen eubiq track and stainless steel backing one of hubby's wants another of hubby's wants... for me functionality is core. like the oven and steam oven are my wants for the kitchen...can't wait to use them
  17. Strange, the gas pipe and liquid pipe should be separated with their own insulation, why did the aircon installer bundle the 2 together? The internal diameter of the insulation also totally wrong. And why is the power cord coming out from the drainage piping??!!
