  1. Hah.. congrats on getting ur keys and finalising the door/theme color.. we went x'mas deco shopping today.. got ourselves some artificial flower rings (dunno issit the correct way to call it.. ) to put on the white rm doors.. tot it looked quite gd.. will post the pics when we complete..
  2. Esther.. No lah, the workers painted de.. not sure which brand they used but is those normal hi-gloss white paint for wood surface.. As it is a service our ID agreed to include in foc... so we dun have any requirements so long got color can liao.. Yup... works almost finishing up le... dunno why this week so slow.. stop work for few days... supposedly can finish this week de... wanted to post up more pics of the kitchen after done up.. but will post wat I have now.. Quite satisfied with the tap.. cheap cheap and good good.. Some DIY project over the weekend... for "blurring up" the corridor window.. Grilles Delivery.... Service very fast.. all done in less than 1.5 hours... Now we have grilles le...... actually dun like to put grilles .. but we stay low floor... so no choice.. Lastly, our outstanding wooorks.... hope will be done up soooon...
  3. Agreed... inital reno stage, we tot contractor never close window properly...then rainwater seep in... then later, we traced our water mark problem in the kitchen to be quite a leakage problem from the kitchen toilet... HDB did some sealing up for us... so far our unit no issue le... but we noticed there is still a major leaking/dripping of the same pipping at the void deck... haha... so HDB only sealed up the units who complained but never really rectify the problem..
  4. so any 3D to show le??? brand new house le,almost everything change le.haha
  5. then how? with chair that with wheel, the wood sure will get lots of make one.
  6. Hi Risis...when the wall is down, chips and scratches are inevitable, your ID or contractor would take precaution to cover the flooring but for us, scratches still happened... Our ID, Roy, still not bad lah, help us to change the damaged parquet pieces and did the varnishing for all 3 rooms foc ... ... for extention of bdrms, will need to buy additional parquet or other flooring materials depending on the location of hacking work... when we did hacking at the kitchen entrance, we bought extra living rm and kitchen tiles from HDB... even though HDB say is same as original but then... our living rm floor tiles color like duller/ darker than the existing one... bo pian.. abit obvious under the light but can live with it lah... haha When is your reno starting? ... gd luck ~~
  7. Ermm... think better call for a locksmith bah.. DIY fixing lockset can be quite tricky...
  8. Ours 110sqm ... u getting same layout? err... for our layout, others still ok.. only the kitchen is very small loh... when buying fridge, washer, sink, hob, hoob etc have to watch the size...
  9. Hi GraCieGaL: Thanks for the compliments.. Haiyo.. must thank haroldism for warning about the ikea floor mat... if not waste money is one thing.. spoil the parquet is big thing.. Esther: Looking fwd for the 2D dwgs.. ya.. It's still better that not in hurry move in .. got more time to plan... and for nua ppl like us, we can slowly clean up and move our barang barang... junxian: Should be mid dec... depending on our moving house progress... the missus got 1 lorry of clothings and barang barang to move... our wiw confirm not enough for her... haai... payretep: Luckily our electrician can give us the 4-gang switches... if not, dunno how.. our switches very untidy.. The white doors will go along very well with your new dining table and chairs. Your dining table very nice leh... like the wood table top and chair finishing.. gd choice Hi piggiedearz: Nice to see another neighbour from same estate.. hehe.. Have you move in? 677B is the block that day got one girl want to jump building de right?...
  10. Ya lor... we almost bought it too.... henng..
  11. pinkitsch... u seem to be posting new topics on these reno queries in the wrong section of the forum...
  12. then wat kind of matt so we buy to protect the parquet? any idea anyone?
  13. Hi Esther : ya... so far fast is fast... now we are bracing ourselves for another round of defects-checking-rectifying-rechecking-rerectifying... haha... goes on and on. Alot of paint stains on the skirting, bombshelter cover, tiling.. stick masking-tape until want to vomit.. and some minor workmanship problem etc too.. then ID arranged for ah-ney cleaning 2 times le.. but everytime, another sub-con comes in to do work... dirty again.. I think we are quite a cleanliness freak or should say "pai mia (bad-life)".. everytime see dirty, would go into "auto mode" to bring out the broom to sweep or wipe... Care to share your 3D drawings?... do post up on ur blog.. our layout quite challenging, very interesting to see the ideas different ID can think of... Hi mmycheng : Ya lor.. i will label them soon... if not keep "playing" like dat, the bulb will also die very soon and waste unnecessary electricity.. ..cut cost cut cost....btw, congrats on completing your reno works... very stylish and modern!...we are rooting for more of your "encore photos"
  14. hah.. Initially we wanted to try gold gates with white main door de... but later realised could be too over.. so, conversative abit still better lah...
  15. junxian/ pinkpetter: We have 3 no. of 4-gang switches... seen in the picture is 2 of them at the main entrance and another 1 at the other end, near to the bdrm corridor.. abit ruan , hope you all can understand the following : 1 x foyer 1 x foyer downlights 2 x kitchen 1 x dining light 1 x dining downlights 1 x living downlights (2-way switch) 1 x cove light (2-way switch) 1 x living downlights (2-way switch) 1 x cove light (2-way switch) 1 x bdrm corridor light cum tv wall downlights (tick-tack switch) 1 x ceiling fan switch Like almost all corners are covered.. there shall be no dark corners in our house... haha pinkpetter : ya... the spicy salsa looked nicer after the 2nd coat... I think 3rd coat liao (?) due to some patching up earlier.. rdnest : The grilles deal really not bad and got to know from him that quite a no. of folks in our neighbourhood have approached him... so i guess, that's why he can maintain such gd prices here...the power of sharing info... The reno was pretty fast.. almost 90% done..but later on, we will slow down le... the remaining delivery schedule quite loose to give us more time to do cleaning up in between.. target moving-in in mid dec.. btw, You gave us some inspiration to play with decals... shall see if we have budget later on... mwerkz : Interesting design with the strips... initially when our ID prompt us for the color... we also no idea so we took the lift all the way up and see level by level, find ideas.. then we concluded on white... up til now, i think no one can win my neighbour who has bright yellow gates.. so unconventional... thereafter, i began to notice there are folks who has bright yellow flowery grilles too.. lol..
  16. payretep : We thought the white doors would give a more expensive look... anyway, much better than the original brown we have now... I think white doors goes very well for country theme too.. could do some stenciling etc to give a personalised touch to it... Open house.. not sure leh... but if you r keen to pop by, just drop us a pm to see if we can work the schedule Pinkpetter: yeah.. a fresh coat of paint for the doors gives a nice finishing touch...good luck on choosing ur colors... mwerkz: what is patter door huh? Quite curious what colors u r using... Updates for today.... The dining lights is up.... lights off and lights on Nice effects on the wall and floor.. wiw ceiling light is finally up... but still seems alittle dim... cant seem to take bright enough pictures of the wiw shelving... maybe is just my hp camera lousy bah... hahah Light switches for the living rm... i think i need to do labelling le... keep pressing wrong switch.. Doors doors doors... bdrm doors, toilet doors and main doors + gates.. Kitchen solid surface is up le, sink also installed... stove halfway done... and still expecting some glass panels to be up... will post more later... Back to tv time...
  17. Wow... pinkpetter you wake up so early de ah... most of us are still in lala land... Ya.. lights can really highlight the whole space up... but alittle worried coz the light cover is black opaque plastic... hopefully not too dim.. Counting down to knock off time.... 2 hours & 25 mins....
  18. Yup... the missus's bday also near to x'mas so we tot of having a triple celebration... housewarming, bday and best of all, x'mas!... Coz we are moving the old tanks from old house...then the fishies also need to move house in a few batches at a time to "test water"... if not, they nt happy with the new environment.. then say goodbye.. anyway, it's sure good to have a full tank of fishies to watch during housewarming... Time for some updates over the weekend... 1. Met up with Wellmax's Eric (*thanks rdnest for the contact), gd deal... we confirmed our window grilles.. to be installed next week... 2. Some appliances has arrived... too bad.. the kitchen still not ready for them... lol... 3. Painting of the main gate and doors.... 4. Patching up the paint work etc... Spicy salsa for the tv wall looked great on the 2nd coat.. Dining lights and wiw ceiling light to be fixed up tmr.. cannot wait to knock off tmr...
  19. Thanks for the compliments.. we were quite happy with the end result of the wiw door too… esp the surface texture and frosted glass panel which acts as a “handle” to push the door… they were totally our ID’s idea… hmm.. come to think of it, we took a big risk.. we do not have decent 3D drawings for us to visualize and pinpoint… therefore, we worked based on a lot of trust ( & monitoring)… so far, glad our ID doesn’t have “memory failure” and delivers what he had promised… The fridge and washer will be here tomorrow, thereafter will arrange the furniture to come in bit by bit... We are targeting somewhere in mid dec… before X’mas… so i guess we are slightly ahead of schedule now.... then the more tedious part will be setting up the fishtank..… have to make sure the fishies like their new house before we can move in…
  20. Wow.. have seen some of ur ID's works on his blog... beautiful, love his use of very bold colors and he totally worked it out...bravo Looking forward to his ideas for your new place...

Coffee table selection at Harvey norman's warehouse.. That's all for now.. gd nite
  24. Yeah... we got gd deals..
  25. mwerkz, We dun need the brackets as there is ledge liao... Allbest offers one of the lowest prices in the market, we have 1 friend who is also in this business but they asked us to go to them coz they unable to go as low as theirs... anyway, we also took a risk as there were quite a no. of negative comments about Allbest in the forum.. We were quoted $3,550.00 for the sys 4 inverter.. the rest is the pipping upgrade.. No major hiccups.. only once during the first appt to fix up the pipping.. the technicians tried to smoke their way thru.. told us cannot run our piping this way or another.. must follow their way etc.. hai.., i understand where they r goin at... they want to do the easiest and fastest way out mah.. but we have to suffer leh.. the rooms will look so ugly and we have to see everyday de... luckily, we got do our homework and remain firm.. they no choice..also have to surrender.. the 2nd time they come up to fix up the fan coil unit and compressor was a breeze.. fast and they help to patch up some bits of the wall broken off earlier too.. Will post it up tonite... haha.. seriously lagging in the pics update..carpentry works almost 80% done.. we got the WIW wall light from Lightmakers @ 318, Jalan Besar, $135... very solid pc of lighting.. duno what is the material.. plastic? acrylic?... Actually after installed liao, we found the light more suitable as bedside wall light... not as a intended mirror light.. but pretty and captivating with the rainbow colors..make u want to keep looking at it...
