  1. Nice! I like your light grey walls and the kitchen tiles. They have the kind of lasting look, won't go out of fashion type! Hehe How come your ceiling and the wall kenna the holes? You must get your contractor to patch it up nicely. Can be done one but you might have to supervise a bit to get them to do it to your satisfaction.
  2. Aiyoh...that JoJo simply has zero service etiquette...surely if you are the salesperson for the sink, you would initiate the question about the hole rather than wait for instructions... just shows that she has no initiative and isn't interested in customer service. Anyway, don't get pek chek...you did the right thing. Your house reno is coming along well...I see all the tiling mostly done. Hope all else will be very smooth sailing for you. All the best k?
  3. Hi, I personally think you should not pay your ID in full until you are satisfied with everything. I did not pay my ID the last payment until after all the reno works are done and the major rectifications sorted (and that was after I have moved in for 1 1/2 weeks). You can discuss this with him/her and work out a compromise of sorts.
  4. Wow...congrats! Move in liao! Must show us the professionally taken pics with all your furniture!
  5. Thanks for your compliments BunBun After a few days with curtains and blinds...I sometimes wonder what made us buy them in the first place...haha... - My living rm curtains...hmm... hardly closed them since we got them cos there's no glare from the sun when we are watching tv - My study room blinds... we opened them and have not rolled them down since... - My WIW blinds...I guess I need this because we don't want to be indecently exposed whilst changing - My bedroom blind...ok, it looks nice sitting there - My bedroom curtains... most useful of all cos it really gives me the darkness I need to get a good night's rest. Oh well... haha! Not really... it's just that the flat black ones look nicer that's all! Just being frivolous! Going for my further studies... trying to be a student again! haha It's like that my dear... somehow we are at the 'mercy' of these people... just last sat, my plumber said he will turn up between 3-6pm...we waited the whole afternoon, sacrificing a day out so that our pipe can be fixed. In the end, it was a NO SHOW! I was so angry cos we waited until 7pm...stomachs hungry and all we gave up waiting. When my ID called him again that night, he said he forgot! OMG!!! You will face more of such 'problems' when you wait for furniture delivery etc... just be patient and bring something to your place to read or have something to do to kill time. Hope your reno is coming along ok? Why are there all these bo liao people going around stealing others' wireless doorbells and batteries and such? Sighz... This morning when I brought my dog down for his walk, I met a neighbour also walking his dog. He told me to be careful...a fellow neighbour teethered his dog outside his home on the morning of his daughter's wedding cos there was just too many people in the house. By the end of the tea ceremony, the dog was gone, stolen! Imagine that!! Horrible...
  6. The long-awaited curtains are here!! Thanks to the forumers who recommended me MGL. They did a good job and am pleased with the outcomes. Pics for you all to enjoy! First, pictures of my living rm curtains under different lighting conditions and different opening/closing positions. Close up shot of the above curtains plus free cushion cover (which I got 2...hehe) 2nd, here are my study room blinds in full view plus a close up to view the striped design. Third, our MBR. We made a blind to cover the small window. Notice it has a flat black base which I prefer over the round one in my WIW. We also did full length curtains for the main windows. They're of the same design as the living rm but in a different colour to match the walls. And lastly, the blinds in our WIW. It's similar in colour to the one in the MBR only a bit more greyish and less shimmery; this one is also made in Taiwan compared to the former which is made in Germany. The German one Andrew from MGL throw in at same price as Taiwan-made blind...hehe Ok, so my reno is finally done... any more updates will be minor additions to furniture and stuff...now I can really sit back, relax and enjoy my home for one month before I go overseas for a year...
  7. Welcome and congrats! Looking forward to the transformation!
  8. Yeah...it does looks slightly misaligned...just get your plumber to do some readjustments, shouldn't be too big a problem I think... Haha...your shower so cute... are those extra jets of water for hydro-massage or something?
  9. Yeah lor... but the doorbell sound options very 'obiang' one...no normal 'ding dong' which I prefer...luckily there's one which is still acceptable... Stolen? The electrician installed the doorbell button onto the wall, didn't try to see if it could be easily dislodged...hmm... think I'll go check it out now that u mentioned. The other part with the speaker is loose and currently sitting atop my tv console...dunno where to put it cos no way to hang it. Thanks for offering me your plaster... very kind of you...no worries, I can easily get it myself from the nearby hardware store.
  10. I learnt something new about the sand thingy...just out of curiosity, how does your dad tell the difference between sea sand and non-sea sand? And why does the former cause the tiles to pop? Bubble, I also bought my sofa from Red Apple and they also called me to ask if they can deliver the sofa earlier...my reno not done at that time so I told them they had to wait. Anyway, a few days before ctual delivery they called me to confirm. My sofa did come on the day as promised but it was very very late... it was supposed to come between 2-5pm, the sofa was eventually delivered only at 8pm! Luckily the model, colour and condition was good... otherwise I would have gone bersek for being made to wait so long for it. I think you better call them the day before to double check and also call them on the day itself.... their logistics dept is seriously a bit screwed up...sad.
  11. Your house has turned out very nicely! The colour scheme is so consistent throughout and very soothing...it's very Zen-like! Hehe Yeah, I've heard of Courts' 'wonderful' service before...my parents bought a table from them for my grandparents...the thing came with scratches all over... similar story to your friend's...looks like they never learn. Sigh... How come you're returning your dining set leh?
  12. Hi Angel, given your space constraints, I can suggest the following: 1. Construct 2 rows of wardrobes 2. Ensure that your wardrobe design is very efficient and maximises the space used to put the things you need. 3. Buy a storage bed to increase storage space (can be used to put bulky items like bedsheets, pillows, luggage etc) 4. Construct more storage in your toilet for toiletries and towels etc. That way you free up more space in the wardrobe for your clothes and bags 5. Vacuum wrap clothes and bedlinen to save space For a more extreme solution which I saw in a magazine... Raise your entire room's floor height by constructing a platform. This platform can be used as a floor storage. For the most extreme and painful solution... Buy less clothes, shop less.
  13. Your lighting plans sound good. Can't wait to see your completed pics. Hehe
  14. Sure When are you shifting? Thank ahockz! I think she was referring to the iron hanger which was $8...but anyways, I shall go there and check out their ironing boards... am still looking for my perfect ironing board... New update...and more electrician woes... Recently, had to change my doorbell... all this while we didn't actually realise out doorbell was spoilt until a week ago as we mostly keep our main door open if we were expecting visitors... Anyway, electrician found out that the internal wiring for the doorbell had gone haywire liao... why didn't he check in the first place??? So there was no way he could repair the problem without having to relay the wiring which means hacking my walls!! So the alternative is to settle for a wireless doorbell... which of course the electrician quickly offered me FOC... if not I sure wallop him! Now I am left with a part of the ceiling that is not painted properly (where the old doorbell speaker was placed) and a hole in the wall on the outside where my door is as the new doorbell button is smaller sized than the previous one... I think some putty will help to seal up the gap... have to make my way to the hardware store soon... sighz...lousiest electrician ever!
  15. Wow...it's all coming along very well... guess you must be so excited and can't wait to move in! I still love your kitchen the most...hehe...but I must say the wardrobe does look very sleek... why did your mom say that your place looks like a shopping centre? so cute...
