  1. some plants growing up healthy and strong at my yard...lol... poor plants...gonna remove them this Thurs.... I am laying chengnai over it so need to remove them...if not I will definately keep them lol...uncle was mentioning that my plot of land must be full of nutrients....wasted as I am laying chengnai...
  2. Lol...met up with Uncle last week to choose the colour of the thimber.... Took some pictures of it under different lightings..... Wow...uncle real busy lei...was supposed to meet him at 5.30pm and ended up...we only managed to meet at 10.30pm... i wonder if he has enough time to rest and have a proper meal or not...
  3. Thanks, Angel! Yup, that's my concerns too.. about the workflow and benting my knees to check the baking. Most imptly, the heat from the oven. Was at a fren hse doing some baking and realised that it's pretty hot when the oven is baking....so putting it under the cooker might not be such a nice idea cos I might not be able to cook at the same time when I am baking. So the best way now is to have it at counter level, dry kitchen, which is almost impossible...need think REAL hard...
  4. I luv wallpapers too... was actually thinking of using wallpaper instead of thimber for my feature wall...cos feature wall very exp...but in the end we are still sticking to thimber cos hor, wallpaper might not last for me cos my unit is pretty close to the swimming pools...my designer mentioned that our wallpaper might not be as durable cos of the moisture and chemicals from the pool... have two furkids at home too...also concern that if they scratch it...then cham liao...
  5. i like decals too but HTB dun like... =( hey smallboy, hope things will turn out fine for you... let me know if i can help in any way...
  6. Yeah cos its a new unit....but then the usability is not there....no compartments...i see ur kitchen...i drool lei.. and also ur wardrobes...so i wanna hack and redo!! wahahahaa....
  7. ermm... i think they really have too much jobs until they somehow cannot handle liao....my fren just met Alan and mentioned that he kept forgetting things and forget about appointments too...
  8. Evisu: Hehe... Will share the reno progress & pics later. Currently plans are so detailed and looks alien to me. Haha! Only Ah Soon nfd HTB undertand what he is drawing.... Pinklady: Its on ground level...ya loo...curtain's a must but will cost us a bomb as due to the ceiling heights and many many windows... Ivy: But hor, one of our guest room is facing the children playground and the other facing a multi-storey carpark....so hor...we are pretty surrounded by noises!! =(
  9. yeah, i like the sunken bathtub too... we're hacking most wardrobes and cabinets as most are the old school type...no compartments...
  10. wow!! I wan something like this too!!! drool drool... oya...smallboy..are u the one whois looking lobang on curtain?? I rem. reading it somewhere but can't rem whois the one.. isit you? =)
  11. Yup..its in wdl... Yes, we do not need to do the basic stuffs cos all in but we will be doing some stuffs to enhance the unit: Living room: 1) Feature wall 2) TV console for living room Dry kitchen: 3) Wrap the island 4) Hacking away the dry kitchen cabinet and re-build 5) Changing allthe "skin" of the island cabinet to match the rebuild cabinet Wet Kitchen: 6) Hack and rebuild the cabinet above the stove 7) Change the "skin" of the remaining cabinets All rooms: 8) Hack and rebuild all cabinets (the existing one are the old-school ones with no compartment) 9) Sand down flooring colors / doors and repaint to darker colour Toilet: 10) Hacking the main toilet and combine with maid toilet PES: 11) Chengai flooring the list goes on..... =)
  12. Oh...its a norm...that'z how HDB do things... lol....have to see their "mood" one... YES...escalate to the supervisor and make lotsa and lotsa of noise....if not most of them will just sit on it...
  13. "Public" toilet : Master bedroom and toilet: (next to the toilet bowl is the sunken bathtub) my house is real "cosy" (lol, a better term for small).... but its also a blessing so we do not need to spend much on BIG items...everything need to be small...lol.. went shopping around for oven, fridge, sofa, tvs....real tiring lei!! Oya, i am thinking hor....since we all need to get these applicances...do you guys think we can get these stuffs cheaper if we combine and make a bulk purchase from one store?? There's a PC show coming in June...anyone planning to go there for TV? Kez...m geared... =)
  14. Okie..some pixs to share....before renovation: Living room: Dry Kitchen: Wet kitchen: PES and its view (lol...look at the plants..):
  15. lol..i duno how to cook as yet...so it might happen.. =P
  16. I cant put the child-safe gate there cos there's a sliding glass panel that seperate the dry and wet kitchen. M worried that if i installl the oven below the cooker..i might regret later...AND also worried that if I install it in the dry kitchen, I might be suffocated by the "smoky smell" Lol...vote? Which is a better option? =)
  17. huh? the smell is kinda of bad enuf right? another place to install it is at the wet kitchen, below the stove. But my concern is that we need to squat down to get the stuffs and is kinda of easy access to children? They might touch the oven accidentally when the oven is in use? Smallboy: Thanks for allowing me to dropby. I do not have any pics now for uploading. Maybe I will popby this weekend to take some "Before" pixs before uncle starts work in 2 weeks time...
  18. but the wet kitchen is very very small...i dun even haf space for my built-in oven...need to install it at the dry kitchen...duno will be smokey or not hor when using the oven for grilling....
  19. Hihi, PES is like a balcony...but its located outside...cos mine is floor level. =) Yeah...superstar contractor... Ah Soon! =)
  20. Lol...finally! Here's my floorplan... Btw, thanks all for giving me all the valuable advices and allow me to view your houses....really appreciated it! =)
  21. My parents were oso still renovating the house when I shifted in to my existing house... same situation, we shifted everything in as our rooms are ready..we were pending for kitchen works. Even when we closed our bedroom doors and place wet towel on the floor seam..the dust can still make their way into our rooms!! those white powder and living inside the house then is really a torture... With the workers walking in and out also make the house very dirty and hor..walau the noise..unbearable lei.... So hor....i will advice you to not shift in IF its possible....if not, at least dun bring your stuffs in.....leave it somewhere or with someone.... cleaning will kill u. Just my two cents worth
  22. i think uncle super busy...i have yet to see my quotation too..which is suppose to be last fri... =(
  23. lol.. so comical.. erm..he mentioned to me someone who jus installed their wardrobe but nv tell me is who lei... whahaa..let me tease him on Friday...can we pay instalment? $100 a month....waahaha...
  24. lol...i just chatted with Uncle Soon on this matter too! Told him that we need to know the cost asap so that we can work on the dollars...need to pay him ma before he starts work and we are targeting to start on 28th April... He laff and told me that no worries la...can pay him anytime...even after he installs all the wardrobes liao oso not an issue....whahahaa... he told me that he very scare when ppl chase him to collect cheque....
