Capentry not so fast....... it is usually the last week .......... meaning end April. He told me this week, finish all tiling.......... then electrical come in and re-wire... and do all the points. Also, Jason must come down and do the capentry drawings by Sat so they can fabricate..........

My wife met up with Uncle Soon today......... he is SUPER busy...... he said people keep calling him to quote.... wa.. I think a lot from this forum contacting him.......... :) His famous word "Lai........ you se mo".......... means "Come, any other problems?"............ then he disappear within 10 mins...... he moves on fast!!!! The 'defective' tile is taken down....... tiling up again tomorrow. The kitchen white tiles are almost done.......... my wife likes the bright and airy feel.......... what a difference from the old brown and dark kitchen.

hONESTLY Lobangking, without sounding mean.......... you didn't read Xinyi thread.......... she/he is not asking for a contractor............ she/he is asking for some kitchen ideas......... Why are you so keen to sell your contractor here? :)

Ivy, you may not want to buy these items yet without going thru the house with Ah Soon. Cos he will advise you what size of toilet and basin to buy. We dare to buy ONLY after Ah Soon said ok with some measurements............ cos floor plan may not be accurate and some funny toilet pipes here and there (usual stupid HDB thing).

Robin is the wallpaper guy....... I think he was going on a holiday after he meet us so he leaves the stack of wallpapers at my house for 1 week............ but worse, EVERYDAY, we sit around it and see if it goes well with our laminates! :) But I think can ask for 3 days to hold the wallpapers............ Ivy, my kitchen all white so I am going for WHITE countertop........... uncle Ah soon has not shown my wife the samples. We are still waiting........... PATIENTLY!

Ya... the grey full height cabinet is what I will be doing..... I also understand that lobang issue....... but mine is a small one so I figure I will just put a appliance there.......... like a coffee maker.......... OR you can put open shelves there to put small items... not sure if you get what I mean.

Ivy, if you are doing with wall paper, Ah Soon will ask someone to bring stack and books of wallpaper to choose from. Then you will be gooey- eyed.... cos we were.......... so many other brands too.... not necessary Goodrich....... We were so lost for weeks........... can't decide........... :)

You may want to try IKEA software.... where you can play around with the sizes of the cabinets. All you need is to key in the actual measurements of the kitchen. A few tips: - I see lots of items on the countertop....... it makes sense to store them away. For example, sauces.... (most of our Chinese cooking got lots of these)........ do a small (like 30-40cm) pull out drawers near the cooking area. In this way, you can access it easily when you cook. Yet they are stored away neatly. - Near the fridge and door area, why not do FULL height cabinets to house your oven, microwave..... small appliances so they are not on the counter top yet easily accessible. Neater that way. I see your oven has become a storage for plates... etc....hee..hee... use that space below the stove for pots and pans plus some usually used plates.... - Hanging wall cabinets - extend them upwards...... can store more things. Hope this helps! The way my wife designs the kitchen......... is she "observe' herself consiously for 1 week to see her work flow... what items are always used... what items are sometimes used..... what counter space needed to cut things/prep food.

Both your toilets are very very beautiful done and designed.... I must say I LOVE the colours.. the basin are round or curvy, it really balanced out the linear designs.... I shall look at round or curvy basins now. :) And your wallpaper at your MBR.... is it from Goodrich.... very classy and elegant! Great taste

We convert 1200sqft into metre sq... it is about 111 metres sq. About the size of a 5room flat.......... then $9500 is way way TOO HIGH........... really gold plated wiring is it? Our re-wiring, plus swtich points... re-route.... about $2k+

Pinkpetter, the chair got zipper but cannot removable..... weird... but we are ok if cannot wash.... like we said "dispoable' chair.......... if dirty and really cannot use, just throw away or re-upholster.

I've met with Jason twice and he advised me to wait till after the tiling is completed before the final drawing. So you don't need to finalise it with him so soon.

okie.. today saw papers and there is "new" furniture store "Montage Gallery"......... wow we are pretty impressed with their deals....... so we went. Tsk.. tsk... actually "Castilla" in disguise............ chey But we still went in ........... and stroke of blessings from above........ we saw a pretty decent looking glass dining table. Price? $499......... not bad............ then the 'uncle' salesman tell us "Get the chair... only $9.90"........... are you serious? Our eyes went bigger............$9.90 can buy.... even if sit 1 year, and break... I am ok... count it as disposable chair la.... hahaha.... Here are the pics: The 'disposable" 9.90 chair. Dont play play... washable suede.... Uncle say o-li-gin-al.....$200+ So we finally chose this dining set......... but only managed to buy 4 chairs cos the rest are broken or some scratches. Not a bad deal........ right?

Agreed with yapyap. I've some Ikea furniture that I've been using for 12 years and still works and looks good. The key is know the quality of material you are buying, and don't overload or stress them too much.
