  2. Hi my dear sorry for the late reply. been busy with my 大扫除. If u wanna DIY, i can suggest u go n find a big fabric with the rose pattern that u like and cut it into 4 pieces, then stretch them on a canvas. its fast n easy n u dun even have to paint! n they should cost less than $50!!
  3. Thanks sweeties! I used to fail my art when i was in primary sch too! maybe i was too 'artistic' for my teachers then! As for the decal look-a-likes, i must admit im very anal when it comes to details. i tend to make sure its done right or else dun do! look out for more DIYs from me! or share some of urs as well!
  4. Hihi rdnest Thanks! I saw ur house pics Simple & nice! i tot red rose with black bg might be too dark so here's my small suggestion u can try doing a simple rose outline(which i took from ur wallpaper) either on one big canvas or a series of small canvases. hope it helps! or u can always engage my 'PRO' svcs! hehe
  5. yeah and i can still feel the 'love' in doing up all these projects. both the hand n head were done during my ceramics class. here's a brief shot. the head really started out horrible! I recently decided to paint it gold as it was natural before that.

  8. Dear All I was very into the Buddha Theme when I was doing up my living room. As I was studying Fine Arts in NAFA then, I had to come up with a theme for my painting. & I did it on Buddha of cos! I could pass it up as my project and hang it in my living room wall later! Its like killing two birds with one stone And so: Here is the process of how I did a Buddha Painting for my Living Room. *sorry for the small pics cos i wasnt allowed to upload so many pics at one go* I scoured the net for a Buddha image and a verse that I LOVE! - did some photoshop on the wall the painting is to be hanged - added grids to align with the canvas and - drew an outline to be copied onto the canvas. - started with yellow acrylic paint - then added different shades of yellow - outlined the face and painted silver on the side but didn't like it - so I changed to dark brown - then I mixed a calm turquoise colour for the rest of the canvas. *U may have noticed the reflective Buddha ear but I will tell u later* - flipped the canvas over and started dripping white acrylic paint to resemble the burning of the incense. - silver was dripped as well. - tried to be creative by trying to make the english alphabets appear chinese! Lastly, I meticulously pasted gold leaves which my love bought from Thailand for me. All 500pieces!! **Yup, they were pasted on the Buddha ear as well ** See if u can read the sentences without referring to the "english" version! My Living Room *Yup, I did the Ceramic Buddha head and Buddha hand as well*
  9. Dear Ahwee: I will put up my living room pics in a new topic soon and u will know why i kept my balcony white! Many people cant stand my house, saying its too colorful! Dear Apple! I found wat u wanted at far east flora at Thomson! Its inside the hamper section and costs $35 I had to take the pic secretly just for u!
  10. Apple: I got the cage in Malaysia Aitam (if i spelt correctly) quite some time back. Im sure some shops in spore do sell it but should be ex. Maybe u can try going to Arab street or Geylang? They might have wooden versions. Ami: Ya off topic but Thanks for the compliments! haha wait for more posts from me!
  11. Hi All! Here's what I did to my balcony. Framed photoshoped images, curtains & a caged money plant! Tot I can show u all how to dress up a small area with budgeted $$. All the red frames were bought from Ikea. I edited the images and printed them with my trusty HP photo printer. Curtains were bought from Giant. Bronze cage was bought from Malaysia and I took an hour repotting the plant becos of the ledge in the cage. Before After After Caged Money plant This caged money plant was a recent DIY project. I couldnt find any use for the cage and my previous money plant was dying. So when i bought a new pot, everything just clicked!
  12. Thanks people! haha.. romantic meh? i still think not enough lei! becos this old 4roomer in yishun has very uneven wall lines and my bf doesnt want to spend much on reno, i had to resort to some form of disguise for that ugly wall! Btw, i still have many DIY projects to show. Am i supposed to start a new topic or continue here?
  13. OMG!!! Thanks thanks thanks so much!! i have been killing my brain cells over this for the past 2 days! finally i can upload more pics! thanks sweetheart!
  14. Hi All Im a newbie here. Was very glued to the topics all of u were writing so I decided to register and write about my home projects! Although they were done few years ago, I still would like to share the pictures with u. I wrote a "poem" for my MBR and decided to stencil it the cheap way. Wanted to buy acrylic letterings but they were way too ex. So i printed the wordings using Edwardian font and cut them out painstakingly!! Took me almost 2hrs just to cut! and 2hrs just to align and paint! Before After Can anyone teach me how to insert the images? i cant seem to do it. Thanks! *** Thanks Ahwee for teaching me!***
