Such a tiring day for me. I will post more pics soon. Cleaned up the house with the help of a cleaner and had a few deliveries sent. Washing machine, washer, vacuum cleaner, clothes hanging system, redmart, bedframe and my tempur mattress with the pillows. Then went to change lock and shopped for taps for kitchen and common bathroom.Ended the day with curtain making. Almost dropped dead.

I am so addicted to Taobao. anna try daigou coz I read that they are cheaper than peeka. Which is the cheapest and most reliable agent?
-
Hmmmm..more like the stars and diamonds rating. BTW, what do the hearts signify?
-
Sharp seems to be better. At last that's what I heard. I'm planning to get a Sharp one myself.
-
Use peeka or 65daigou. Those 2 were recommended to me. And do try to buy from sellers with more stars and better rating.

The parquet varnish has dried and the "damaged" area is restored. This corner of the MBR below was whitish and pale initially. I think rain water must have gotten in. But after Friday's re-varnishing, it looks like the rest of the area now. Hoping that the parquet floor will last in this good condition for many years to come. We decided to keep to matt finishing.

Oh yes, it's the first time I'm using a front loading washer.

Went there today and just to let you guys now. Not much to view there as expected, pictures here: http://www.renotalk.com/forum/topic/60870-eastern-2bdr-home-built-on-love-woody-style/ They were helpful though and only accept cash or cheques that have to be cleared before delivery. We got 3 things there and paid a deposit. Hopefully, all goes well this coming Tuesday.

Then we went to the famous electrical shop in AMK and got 3 appliances that we didn't do research on! OMG... Very old school right? Went in at 7.30pm and came out with 3 appliances that we didn't plan for. We wanted LG at first and Rowenta vacuum cleaner. We went to HN and Best before heading down but the shop assistant told us made in Thailand better than made in China so we got ourselves this Hitachi fridge R-WB480 @ $1152. http://www.hitachi.ae/eng/products/consumer/products/refrigerators/rwb480.html Don't even know the price out there. Anyone knows? We got the Samsung washer at WF8692 $439 coz it was cheap and we wanted a basic one. We wanted LG initially but he said Samsung is better. So.. well, see our luck. The quite cool looking vacuum Cleaner is Hitachi too: CV-SH20V @ $245. Called Cyclone and will suck dust up into a ball. No need to change filter. Yeah! Recommended by him. Both of us don't have much feelings and thoughts on electrical appliances. Can last and save energy can already, so we went with recommendations and not much input. Haha,,, BTW, they only accept cash. Or cheques but the cheques have to clear before delivery.

We also did up the store shelving today and this is the uncompleted one. The base is all cherry wood grain MDF and frame is aluminium. Will try to remember to take a completed picture the next round to add to this post. We got this one from http://www.racksingapore.com/ SRL1512 (1500 + 1180) x 460 x 2000 $355 He finished fixing it in about half an hour. Chop chop! Liking our storage space. I'm very KS, I don't ant to run out of storag space. Eve though there's only 2 of us, I'm afraid we won't have enough space. Moreover, I work from home. A lot of barang barang.

Next up was re-varnishing of the parquet by Hau Hau parquet. I got the contacts from renotalk. My parquet was in a good condition except for a small area n MBR about 10cm by 10cm. I think it got wet. Will post the results after the varnish dries. They did up the job fast in about 1.5 hrs with 1 men each in the 2 rooms. Only 1 coat of matt oil varnish. Is 1 coat good enough?? It was really smelly. Toxic fume and they left the doors closed. Said we can only enter tomorrow morning.

For the MBR, I used Dulux's Misty and for the feature wall, it is Kennett Square. I'm happy with this freelance painter. Though it took 4 days coz he's a 1 man show.

This is the study room in Nippon's My Shadow, the colour I like most when choosing.
-
Painting completed today! Yeah. The rooms have brightened up, especially the living room and dining room.We used Nippon's Cotton White. Abit hard to see the colour but the picture below may be clearer.

What about Rowenta, is it good? Or Philiips?
-
Haha... yes. With good food somemore! I think the lights were going for 268 for a set of 3 with the plate to hang. For taobao, it should be about the same but I got this set and 1 more loose piece. Both need to pay for installation.

Went to Meridien Curtains today and got a quotation that I found reasonable. Went to Ion Lights next to my place and found the Benjamin Hubert Labware Lights I ordered at Taobao was selling close to half price when compared to the shop near Arab Street. Taobao still cheaper after postage and all but if I have found this shop first, I would have ordered direct from them and save the hassle. Not sure about their service but will feedback after trying. Started painting today and am looking forward to the completion. Looks like very convenient around my house area. Lights and curtain shops also have.

Post Reno Cleaning Service
pills replied to tessina's topic in RENOVATION IDEAS: Interior Design Themes, Space Planning
I emailed a few companies and thought to share the info for those I fond cheapest but not review on service coz didn't use them. NTUC Income provides weekday cleaning at only $100+ with 2 domestic cleaners some more. For smaller flats below 1000sqft. Homebreeze, GT Services and Greenland Cleaning also low $200. The rest was really ex at $250 and above and 1 even quoted me $450! -
Thanks! I dropped by Meridien Curtain today and their pricing seemed competitive. But mainly polyester or polyester mix for the budget I wanted as they said easier to take care. Likely to go with them and will feedback.
-
Any contacts to share? Super urgent needed now...
-
Are they good at recommendations across brands? Do they have a lot of products there for us to view as well? Or is it better for us to go find out what we want then place order with them?

How much does 1 hall and 2 bedrooms usually cost for day curtain and normal curtains for all 3? My window size can be seen here: http://www.renotalk.com/forum/topic/60870-eastern-2bdr-home-built-on-love-woody-style/
