  2. wow! congrats on your beautiful home! Your kitchen and dining area looks like its straight out from some atas homde decor magazine!!! love it... And your cosy corner with the bookselves is very very nice too!
  3. Dun reallly recall is which brand, but should be either Formica or TAK
  4. Alamak the above entry is actually by me....wifey forgot to log out....
  5. wall and floor tiles keep....gonna do a L-shaped kitchen, so gonna build the base at the current suspended cabinet area. Colour scheme which i proposed to wifey is black galaxy top and black glass backing. cabinets will be in yellow (think lamborgini yellow). but I realised that to do glossy laminates, waves and ridges are inevitable, unless you use 2mm thick laminates. but the yellow that we wanted is only available in 0.8mm and so waves will definitely be there. been trying to psycho wifey since yesterday to change to red and black kitchen as red is available in 2 mm. but she is very sold on the idea of the lambo yellow already...argh. she dun mind doing the yellow in matt. but i wanna glossy.
  6. @ashes02: Huh? why depressed? dun depressed. no choice I dun wanna next time kena wifey's nagging until i tear my hair out. @mrspiglet: thanks for the compliment I hope i can get a real condo, though. @pinkpetter: haha, trying to psycho the wifey that why not we forget reno and we can go buy all the furniture today and move in the very next day after keys collection. Reply: Silence. @ivy: Yeah, hope we dun mess it up with our own version of the kitchen. Its gonna be a yellow and black kitchen. *gasp* @preciousjam: yeah i agree. I think need some reno to make it ours or else like feel very weird. @familyof4: haha...i better give her her own kitchen and her giant sink or i wun have food anymore.
  7. Hi hi! I am very interested in this rain shower with waterfall function...maybe i should get one...any details or pictures? thanks a lot!
  8. Master Bedroom - Current toilet door (lourve design) to be replace with glass swing door; and full ht closet which the wifey dun like cos of the wood colour, so gonna stain to darker colour too. Master bathroom - Ugly pipes => to box or not to box??? Master bathroom - to change to black galaxy vanity top with suspending cabinet and mirror from wall to shower screen with light shining out above and below mirror
  9. Master bedroom - Hacking the closet and building WIW and partition feature wall with full ht sliding mirror door on the right and corresponding mirror on the left. Master bedroom window Master bedroom - Another view (from the closet area) Master Bedroom - Sliding door
  10. False ceiling in the living room - to keep Bomb Shelter behind partion - To box up with tic-tac door/feature wall
  11. Walkway leading to study room and bedroom 2 Bedroom 2 - Third room with small full ht cabinet =>to keep the cabinet and convert to future baby room with Winnie the Pooh Wallpaper on the right wall. Study room - no budget to change the built-in study furniture. They are in good condition but the wifey dun like the wood colour. So maybe will ask ID to stain the the doors to a darker colour. Anyone done this before? Is the effect good?
  12. Kitchen with tall cabinet - Tip top condition but gonna hack and change cos the kitchen is wifey's playground and although she dun wanna change so as to save some money, I KNOW she WANTS it. (also to prevent future nagging and lengthen my lifespan) End of the kitchen - Washing machine base to lengthen depth for our Panasonic 9kg washing machine and kitchen cabinet base to be build for our L-shaped kitchen.
  13. Hi all, Happy Holidays! The layout that we finalised, although we have not finalised an ID. duhz... Compared to the original floor plan: And some more pics of our place-to-be... Foyer area with partition to be hack down (cove light above) - To build full ht shoe cabinet with seatee Different tiles between foyer and living area - Ceramics at foyer and 800x800 homo tiles in living Kitchen sliding door and fridge area
  14. wah, why he only use on foyer and not all?...maybe you should clarify with uncle ah soon. Hmm, now i wonder if your case of having to clean the house after the acid washing is a norm or just your case? Cos i have been having the impression that after the so-called acid washing and general cleaning, the house shld be at least without all those glue and cement stains, maybe just dust or some sandy particles. I will try to ask my IDs...and update u all...
  15. wow...that's very heartening to hear....can u post up some pics of ur house? I am quite particular about workmanship and also quotations, hence trying to strike a balance between these 2 factors..and wat u just mentioned just made Homely Image highly desirable on my list.....thanks in advance
  16. Hi fondue, can i check with u that does Ah soon provide acid washing? And is acid washing supposed to clean up all the "silicon, cement, glue, paint, residue from adhesive tape, grout sealer over the whole house"? Or issit after the contractor's acid washing, we still have to clean up all the mess ourselves? Thanks
  17. Hi all! Reporting from Amsterdam..... First, I better lower down all your expectations first, cos actually our view is not that great, hehe, just passable. If our unit is at the other end of the block, then we can see all those things I mentioned plus fireworks during NDP, NYE and CNY. And that would be superb! But the current owner said that from our unit seems like cannot see the fireworks in town but only fireworks on Sentosa. Hopefully we can move in before NDP this year and check it out. A question for all which has been bugging me and Ling: Is fabric sofa very warm and hot when the aircon is not on? Who is using fabric now? any comments? Taking into account the selling price, I wun say this flat is a great buy but its a good buy for us cos we have live in this area for so long and we found this unit with a view and nice conditions. We managed to shave 15k off the valuation, which is quite good I think, but if we can shave another 15k (which was my original offer price), then I would say its a great find man. Too bad we kan cheong spyder cos there was supposedly another potential buyer viewing the flat the next day. So we chopped chopped sealed the deal. And thanks everyone for the positive comments and well-wishes on the upcoming reno process, we really hope we dun screw it up and make this move-in condition flat into an ugly one.
  18. Thanks for the info! Do they have those square mixers, square rain shower ...I think we gonna go square-square for all taps, mixers and door knobs in our place...hehe
  19. Right before I go overseas for a few days, here are some pics we took Living Room - We like that its longggg with the balcony at the end... Balcony with parquet raised platform - Forgot to take pics of the view outside...shucks...cannot see Henderson Waves from this pic...this corner has an "uglier" view, according to the current owner, hence he changed the tv point to the opposite wall as the other corner has view of the PSA and CBD... @pinkpetter: We viewed several units after seeing this unit and we just could not forget the view....so it was actually a sealed deal the moment we stepped on the raised platform...hehe
  20. Hi Carebear! We have the same layout as you in Kim Tian....How's your reno? Any end results photos that you share?
  21. Hi All! After 4 unsuccessful ballots for a new flat, I finally managed to convince my wifey to go for a resale flat and we found our dream unit at Kim Tian early January this year. We love that place cos it has an unblock view of Mount Faber right in front of our balcony on the 20+ floor, with Henderson Waves on the right and CBD view on the left. The 6 year-old unit is very well-maintained with full length windows at the balcony. Pretty excited to collect our keys on the 11th June! Our floorplan: But right now, both of us are suffering from pre-reno blues after talking to quite a number of IDs. It is either a case of too cheap a quote and we worry about the quality, or too high a quote and we scared we are overcharged. This unit is a 100% move-in condition but being our first home, we wanna do some reno which actually is very wasteful. Will post some pics in our next post Anyway, have been surfing this forum for the past few nights till the wee hours and now even more headache! Hehe. Pretty addictive looking at all the t-blogs too.
  22. Hi fondue, I have been tracking your t-blog for a while now and that's a very beautiful kitchen! May i know what is the material provided by uncle ah soon for the interior of your kitchen? White PVC? And also for your really huge and stunning WIW, what is the material for the interior? Looks orangey, issit the so-called Polyken? Pardon my blurness, cos me and wifey have been talking to a few IDs and they provide different materials for the interior.... Anyway my wifey is Ling02, I think she PM-ed you
