  1. Wow.....I spend less than $100 replacing all the switches in the house....using Clipsal....not the Zencelo type hor..... exclude labour cost....
  2. I like the quote in bold. Every **** supplier tells me theirs is the best pricing.....
  3. its not a must, but you should consider having it close to the tv point. if you place near the main entrance, there is no problem if you use a wireless router for your devices. but what if they have cable tv riding on the fibre later on? i dont think you can get wireless connection with your tv rite? then again, i could be wrong in that there are wireless tv
  4. Since you are not in a rush, you may want to start after the peak season, which are typically end of year and CNY time. You might be able to get a better deal when its not so rush for the contractors. It will be quite tough to get below 30k for a 5 rm with your floor area. Do note that after reno start, there is possibility of additions along the way. Floor tiles, kitchen cabinets and toilets are the bulk of your cost. I'm not saying we should get dirt cheap, but at a price that we are comfortable with given the quality of the products/finishing. Mine is about $31k, and the only carpentry I have is kitchen cabinet and feature wall to cover the bomb shelter. oh yeah man.....i actually have to check my credit card limit in case it is busted. hahahahaha...... if you dont have anything, there's a fridge to add, aircon, washine machine, dryer (optional), water heater. then there's the furniture (if you dont have any). it varies, depending on how much rewiring needs to be done, how many switches you want to change, type of switches you want. my electrical works cost slightly less than 2k and this doesnt include the cost of lights. its not the 'lot of work' that i worry about. its the 'lot of money'.....hahahaha LV
  5. Annjoy, Your reno is moving quite fast.....thats gd LV
  6. Wah seh....both of my new toilet bowls are Johnson Suisse leh...whats the problem? Where did you buy it from? and which model ah? can take photo?
  7. Actually, we didnt hack any bedroom walls. So its a challenge to put in the wardrobe in the master bedroom. Coupled with a king size bed, we are still planning the exact placement of the wardrobe. Wont have to get through to the wardrobe to the toilet though You're in punggol too?
  8. actually, its not hack everything....nothing much to hack in the first place other than the floors and toilets. very little carpentry to remove
  9. hey chrysalis, we're using system 3 and system 1 for our 5-room. the system 3 is 9000 btu for each room. the system 1 which is for the living/dining room is 18000 btu. its 4 ticks.... we're using mitsubishi heavy industries..all inverter. bought it from GC. our system 3 is about 2.6k. we split into system 3 and system 1 becoz it wud mean there are 2 compressors, one for living/dining room and one for the 3 bedrooms. if the aircon is down for some reason in the bedrooms, we can sleep in the living room...hehehehe.....its a personal choice. mitsubishi electric starmex is popular....coz more publicity. but a no. of forummers have also opted for mitsubishi heavy industries. so its a personal choice. LV

  15. I am thinking of getting the Brandt oven, FE811XS1, but I heard its power rating is 16A. Is this true? Are there good ovens that has a power rating of 13A instead? Is it also true that in HDB flats, we cannot use appliances with more than 15A rating, except for aircon? Anyone know if its true? LV
  16. I think the brand is Roz...in-house brand for Hoe Kee I think....not sure how deep it is....still in its box. But we require something for pots and pans....ours is 2 bowls.....about 81 cm long i think....they also have Blanco......will measure its depth when we see it again at the house.
