  1. Thanks for the feedback guys. Like I said, the wife is gonna decide. And she goes for option 1. Although I prefer the second option with the dark colour below. However, she says that since the floor tiles are gray, it would be better ot have the bottom cabinet white for the contrast. Oh well, she will be spending more time in there than I am. Yesterday went to Asia Excel. For your information, they still have the Cusinio hood and hob, Franke sink and Franke Fermont mixer on promotion for SGD699. I actually wanted to take that, but since our kitchen is so tiny, we can't accomodate their hood and hob. So, today, we went to Royal Fanco and spent SGD2750 there. Everything settled. Breakdown coming next! This is getting reallllly expensive....
  2. Oh I got the pull down system from Tame at the recent fair at Expo. The four piece system that can pull down one bar at a time. Going to get it installed then can feedback on it. Yeah the guy had a bit of attitude, but I was taking it cool. Wife was around and she worked her magic on him. So managed to get a 20 bucks discount also. Muahahaha!
  3. .Looks like there is going to be some layout changes to the kitchen. It is a little bit smaller than what we expected. Anyway been looking around for toilet stuff, namely WC, kitchen sinks, basins, bla bla. So, walked around Balestier Road, at SSC, Luxury Baths, ***. At Luxury Bath, I have been tempted with an offer that they were giving. A one piece Magnum WC + a basin, from a choice of 4, for SGD308. Very tempting... Anybody has any idea how Magnum is like? Cos I have only seen brands like Baron, or Crizto... Then, for kitchen sink, saw one which is quite nice, by Snow. Its 880x480x180. One big sink and one smaller sink. So quite useful for us. Semi-matt. Going for SGD218. Tomorrow, more visiting at Asia Excel and Poh Joo. Need feedback guys!

    Asia Excel

Yeah, planning to go there too. Was at Balestier just now also but on the other end, so went to Luxury Bath, ***, this shop a few places away from Hafary. Maybe I should go over to Asia Excel, like, now!
  5. Off to work last week while the wife oversaw the renovation. I owed her a nice dinner...
  6. Wife will probably be deciding but.... which one nicer? or...
  7. Hi, your inbox is full! Wanted to PM you about your curtains contacts. Please PM me the contact. Thanks!
  8. Hehe not bad hor? Quite pleased with these two purchases. I'm glad that the guy from Everjoint recommended me to get the Hitachi instead of the Samsung. The Samsung is an older model, a Korean brand vs Japanese brand, is Silver nano antibacteria instead of Hitachi's Titanium Nano. And, the Samsung older model is more expensive than the Hitachi by 100 bucks. Overseas now, so the wife is gonna take deputize the overseeing. Tiling almost done. Carpenters doing measurements and false ceilings gonna be done up.
  9. Think it's at loyang. But over already Ended yesterday I think. Unless next weekend another round. Btw, discoburg, your nick very familiar. You're in hardwarezone and FJC?
  10. Why not keep the un-used tiles? If any of your tiles get chipped or damaged, you can use these tiles to replace the damaged ones. The tiles you see in the shop today may not be sold next year...
  11. Not the two companies you are asking, but for ClosetDesign and Alumix, they both use compressed wood with laminate finishing. But don't know what grades they are using. For my WIW, L shape, about 14 feet total length, Alumix quoted me about 1k less than ClosetDesign. Of course, with that difference, there must be some plus points for ClosetDesign. ClosetDesign pull-out mirror can be rotated 360 degrees, Alumix no. ClosetDesign has full pull-out drawers, Alumix no. And ClosetDesign has softclosing drawers, Alumix no.
  12. Yikes! Sorry bro, just saw your post. It was the Home Design and Decor exhibition at expo. Just next to the very crowded Robinson sale. If you can wait, you could wait for the next home fair in expo. Usually, the same vendors will be there.
  13. Ah, finally bought my fridge and washing machine! For the fridge, I was actually planning to get the Samsung RT58EAMT, which was retailing at SGD999 at Gaincity. So, the wife and I went over to Everjoint to find out how much they were selling it. However, I was informed that this model is an outdated one and that it has problems of sweating. So, I was recommended the Hitachi RZ541AMS. Apparently, this is a new model which is of better technology than the Samsung. And, they were selling it at SGD799. Then, for the washing machine, my eyes were already set for the Samsung WF8702. In Gaincity, they were selling it for SGD829. Then, at Everjoint, they were selling it at SGD739. So, it is true: Everjoint is cheap! And their salesperson is very knowledgable and helpful. Really learnt a lot of things from him. Anyway, we did not buy in Everjoint! We went to Gaincity and asked them for their best prices. In the end, they managed to match what Everjoint gave, and, they also threw in a free chordless steam iron to go with the Hitachi fridge. So, we went ahead with Gaincity. Will be arriving in August. Tomorrow, renovation will continue. Time to monitor the workers again!
  14. Hi sohck, just want to find out your Mitsubishi aircond, is it the Starmexx one or Heavy Industries one? And do you happen to know the compressor and FCU models? If not, maybe the BTUs for the FCUs? Thanks hor!
  15. They are having a promotion at expo now too. Last day Sunday.
  16. WOW! Very nice place! White is gives it a really neat and sophisticated look! Great job!
  17. YIKES! My wedding dinner is going to be on the 15th of August. Then, I managed to get matrimonial leave until the 19th of August. So, 19th August is last date! Going to be exciting! Good luck to you too!
  18. Just put in a deposit with the distributor at expo. Btw, another option would be Mattress Giant that does parallel import of Simmons mattresses over from the US. They are also at the expo.
  19. Btw, anyone knows when is the ghost month starting? My scheduled completion of my reno looks to be right middle of August...
  20. She has been asking me for ages for the dimensions of the washing machine and fridge. Haha! Just told her that I would be looking at the range of 600x600 for the WM, and maximum 900mm for the fridge. That should be a safe... Actually it's only the WM that needs the kerb because it is in the yard. It is sort of end of the yard so the width doesn't really matter. It is more of the depth. And dimensions of washing machines don't really differ by that much. As for fridge, no kerb because it is in the kitchen. Won't be doing heavy duty washing (read, flooding). Only will be having a table top counter next to it. So, width of 900mm should do.
  21. My ID also brought me to choose tiles before any drawings. She said we choose the tiles, from the colours, we can work on wall paint/cabinet colours. Gonna choose the wall paints and cabinet colours this weekend. So, the drawings had better be ready by then!
  22. Haha, yeah I hope the Simmons will turn out fine. Gonna be a long term investment. For washing machine, deciding between the Electrolux Time Manager and Samsung. Yeah front loading. Load about 7.5kg or so. So far, have seen Samsung models 8700 and 8702... both seem ok. Thinking of going to recce other brands, but then, again... headache. Hahah!
  23. Oh chey, so no difference getting from expo...
  24. Thanks. I almost fainted deciding on Simmons. Washing machine next....
