  1. is it this one? http://www.magicsponge.com.au/
  2. yep it is suppose to remove all marks. during my renovation, the (sigh) stupid contractor left some newspaper pinned on my solidtop. after a week or so, the paper got stuck (think it was wet) and when removed the ink was imprinted on the solid top. then there were also scratches here and there, so in the end force him to do a polishing at the end of the reno. from what i heard its like removing a super-thin layer of the solidtop, so not ideal to do too many time but maybe every year for the CNY. cost wise im not too sure, need to check with my wife, vaguely remembered it wasn't expensive one.
  3. couldn't find much online information on the internet, here's 2 for your reference http://www.wilsonart.com/design/statement/...sp?articleid=28 http://www.donstephens.net/Counter%20tops.htm yep postform not suitable in all cases, because the technology at the moment still cannot do sharp angle :s i bought my dining table set from xzqt , spend $2000+ for the whole set (one chair was $200), and i can say it was really worth it. the manager was super helpful and design quality-wise all very satisfying (i think my wife has a blog here, shall go dig up let you see). so overall for me a bit pain in wallet but my wife and i ranked our buying of the dining set, number 1 in our reno adventure. (lol the other furniture not all so happy tho).
  4. thanks for the information, just found their local distributor number, will check them out
  5. had a problems with the joint issue during my reno. Was kinda irritated because when our ID show us the rendering, he didn't mention about the joints so we thought it would be nice white all the way. But when it was finished , we can see a brown line at the joint because of the material below. sigh. did some research, you can go for postform laminate also, but similarly need to top up. Else is to change the color. I have a brown table did up, which blend well with joint line.
  6. nice concept so far! like the sleek modern look. well for me i would prefer Option B because of the black. and also because the cleaning for Option A would be really difficult and eventually I think for most people would abandon cleaning them .
  7. thanks for the information mrspiglet will go try it next time my wife cook at home. @ kueh : also i just remembered kueh, you can actually contact a solidtop company to come to your house to do polishing. although you might want to do it only when you start having a lot of scratches to be more worth it.
  8. wouldn't cif damage your solidtop? was told by my Id not to use cif on it, grr unless he gave me wrong information. been trying to find something i can use to clean the solidtop after a session of oily cooking.
  9. the price he quoted to me that time was $600+ for one solid drive, although it's already super powerful. 10% power can turn a dining table into a speaker. but its a bit ex. you have information one existing wireless speakers? currently all then information i found states that the quality will drop because of the connection:(
  10. you can check out Wink Play a local decal company. Been around for quite a while, and have quite a good collection of nice designs. Alternatively, you can look for a local printer who does decal or wallpaper printing (this way their material would suitable for house use). Cost-wise would be lower and you can do whatever design you want, although you would need to spend time and effort to coordinate. You can check out http://fullspectrumsg.com ( i print some stuff with them), does quite a lot nice work. Ask for the boss, David, a very nice and chatty uncle. Buying for online would be cheaper, but need to be more careful and ask some questions, - water proof or has an protective surface (especially for kitchen) - removal process, in case in the end when you removed pull out all your paint below.
  11. Oh you can check out online forums and websites like Lonely Planet or Trip Advisor and compile your own notes (since guide books might be outdated too). A lot of travelers share their experience, special finds etc on these sites.
  12. you can go check out Brandt induction cookers if you want something easy to maintain. it's a bit ex but supposedly you will save in the long run from the usage, not to mention its a just wipe and go. even glass gas hob have metal parts that will need scrubbing and maintaining. Just took out my hob today and found a quite a bit of metal flakes that came from the underside of the metal cap.
  13. mine is a Alpha Storage Heater bought from Asia Excel. been working very well and the after service from them is really good too (look for a guy called desmond, really helpful). although given the hot weather recently haven't been using it for a while :S
  14. My wife and I just booked tickets for Macau and Hong Kong for August (Tiger Airways having $0 tix then, think its $1 now). so this would kinda be our first official honeymoon (well we went to lijiang for our photoshoot but it was more "work" than play). what are the interesting things to do over there for this places? So far i'm shortlisting a few things: - Walkaround In Macau - The Peak - Disneyland Any good shopping places, thinking of looking for places that sells more designer clothings.
