  1. anyway, froggy. ur layout plan almost similar, except for the MB layout with the aircon window smack in the middle & the living room have more space towards the entrance rather than towards the window. i saw some ppl actually extend the kitchen towards the entrance, to make it bigger. designing ur MB will be tricky though. aircon piping also very, very crucial... really need to get it done correctly or major headaches in the future...
  2. nope, i didnt get it from there. went to blum @ ubi. from their website, dun think they sell Blum. but if they did, its an amateur mistake in not gettin it from them then... i bet tong lee must be cheaper if they sell them.
  3. well, I bought the Blum system myself for the drawers for the entire hse. Then realised da carpenter got special deal for Blum too, so he settle da aventos for me. I dun expect him to use Blum hinges for da entire hse too. Abt da calculation, da carpenters got some prob wif da aventos, so I had to do my own calculation & guide them.
  4. thx.. big headache in setting up the aventos. weight, height... all these have to consider. mine is not id/contractor... he's referred by my lil' bro, & he basically 1 of the boss (he's 1 of 3 partners of the firm). will pm u his name & firm (cuz ppl will assume im 1 of the firm ID or im in co-hoot with them if i post it in this forum).
  5. Lastly, My Dining Area: my floating dining table... magic ..... House so small, so have to really, really manage the space I have. anyway, smaller the home, easier to clean...
  6. Kitchen Again: my super small 60cm hob (but with 4 burners) lotsa free Mac cups!!!
  7. Kitchen: I choose da fridge, not my wife, k da cool design & butterflies capture my attention... love @ 1st sight for me. yet to paste sticker on my kitchen glass door... dangerous when closed, will knock into it.
  8. Bedroom Again: my red cushion settee still wrapped in newspaper.. no curtain, so dun wanna discolor the color from da sun... normal wardrobe... transformin into... my wifey lil' own dresser...
  9. Shoe Cabinet / Divider: Digital Fingerprint Lock:
  10. Ok... its been a while since i update this blog... below are the pics of my completed reno... total damage: $32K I will divide into Living, Bedroom, Kitchen, Toilet respectively... Here goes... Toilet (Common):
  11. Finally bought my 28444me @ HN @ PP. $1443 + $257(2+3yrs, roughly $86/yr for warranty seems gd investment) = $1700. The sale asst match Mega price, & I got some vouchers worth almost $50. & not forgetting $150 pub voucher too. & free delivery... When I go best denki, the girl said $1799 w/ 1 yr warranty. Obviously she dunno her stuff.
  12. bro Vic, pmed u but ur mailbox full. Onkyo 608 or 708? Is da $500 diff worth it or shld I juz get da 608? I'm in a fixed. Thx!
  13. bro jose... Long story. Dun wanna cry over spilled milk.
  14. well, not yet got my hands on it yet. $1099 for da sub. $300 more than velo cht-8q but i believe its a worthy upgrade. 608 or 708.... i dunno which one to get my hands on. $500 diff is pretty a lot. somebody juz sold off his svs sub pc12ultra for $1k @ xtremeplace. ard 1yr++. dats a good bargain, but i didnt consider as my wifey oredi think the pc12 is huge enuff... dun wanna to push her buttons.
  15. da culprit still free but gd news is dat my contractor is willing to compensate 100%. dats y im upgrading cuz sticking to da same stuff only remind me of dat incident. Almost $500 more for 708... worth the upgrade? only prob is KEC installed my previious hts last 2 weeks & i dunno whether if i get the avr & sub only, will they install for me again or not cause im still a noob in setting it up.
  16. bro vic... due to my unfortunate event, i would like to ask ur opinion for this setup: onkyo avr 608 + deftech 800 fronts & rears & deftech 1000 front + svs sub pc12-nsd + oppo-83 as u can see, im upgrading my sub & blu ray player... 708 yet to come out & even if it did, definitely more than 1k, so over budget. Does this setup look ok? thx bro
  17. bro, chill... u dun wan the same thing to happen like in the "previous" thread... its frustrating when ppl give bad advise (i dun say "stupid" advise cuz some ppl can be sensitive) but what to do... i give up oredi. plasma vs led vs lcd... y muz there be soooo many threads. juz go xtremeplace to find out cuz most videophiles & audiophiles went there. this forum is renotalk, & some advises r not accurate. i wouldn't want to go to extremeplace & ask: laminate floorin or parquet better? for those who want something simpler, go to cnetasia or cnet... they have lotsa stuff there to read. juz my 2 cents worth...
  18. i dunno how to ans dat... my 1st every avr, so got nothing to compare wif, hehe... so far, visitors to my home only have "wahhhh" & "woooo" when they see the movie & hear the sound... personally, it felt like i have a mini home-theater @ home... thx, bro
  19. this thread is gettin more hostile... dun wanna sound intrusive but its juz a case of simple misunderstanding... anyway, bro vic helped me alot in recommendin my hts setup. my opinion: he's da hts guru & if u have doubts in him, then its ok... everyone have their own mind to believe him or salesman or etc.... (im not siding wif him, ah... juz giving my views on his hts knowledge) if u really, really wanna know more, one word: xtremeplace.com... cheers
  20. I mount my 50" kuro on my feature wall... So far, no prob... FYI
  21. I dunno why u need to have a back panel for u tv. They can drill the holes n mount directly onto ur wall. I have a samsung tv mounted in my bedrm, n no prob mountin on da wall. Mayb cuz u wall not straight due to the groove, n the bracket they wanna use is too long. Rather then askin ur carpenter to create a back panel n makin the tv potruding out, I suggest u invest in a tv bracket that is short enuff to mount directly onto the wall or if die, die muz have back panel, get a low-profile tv bracket. "Sanus" have lotsa varieties of brackets. Get it from self-fix diy shop or if cheaper, try ur luck on eBay. I got mine @ $60 from eBay, whereas is cost $120 elsewhere. Gd luxx...
