  1. as of today, there is no such thing as waterproof laminate flooring. there are technologies to cover individual laminates with wax layer, which makes it water resistant. for waterproof flooring, get vinyl tiles/planks
  2. sorry bro goobii for diverting your thread. just want to point out that TS wants to highlight the bad (from what i read, possibly criminal) attitute by this specific company rather than the product itself. Actually, this kind of door is also done by another company (which is my supplier for such doors). So far I only know of 2 companies, but no intention to switch supplier since I have a good working relationship with my current supplier. My 2 cents on the product. pros: small footprint strong mechanism stable door child safe lock (with upgrade options) no bottom track cons: have to know how to use it, not intuitive pricing is on the higher side compared to other quality doors strict on dimensions so any miscommunication will lead to losses to either parties terribly expensive if size of door required is more than standard size summary: i did not use it personally as i did not know about this product when i got my house done, but given a choice, i would. but i would recommend it to my clients where small footprint is needed and no bottom track is preferred. of course, the final choice is theirs since they are the ones using it.
  3. If you want the best, go for Ariafina It's not 100% though, fyi.
  4. Personally, what I did, was to redirect the water piping to run in from the top instead of the middle of the house. For specific details, PM me and I will advice you further.
  5. You guys might want to look at the latest alpha instant shower heater which comes with attached rain shower
  6. bro, you can check out Besglas or Sun Sun Glass. can see my tblog for my review on them. btw, about your shower areas that cannot do drop down and have to do kerb instead, did your ID charge you for the kerb?
  7. That's scary. So at speed 1 and 2, it does not wobble? The alpha V6 has a diagonal blade design so it may look like it is wobbling when rotating. What you should check on is the lamp in the middle. Is that wobbling? So far, I have 4 alpha V6, have seen 2 other alpha V6 in a client's home, no signs of wobbling. If yours is really wobbling, my guess is poor installation.
  8. Yep, and if they quote you higher, just tell them the guy from Holland says it's $290 I let me electrician handle the brackets and balancing. To me, as long as it works (no sound on top speed, lights can turn on), it's good
  9. Nope, I did not cut them. Just remember not to stand on your bed I wouldn't advise cutting them. Without cutting them, it does not wobble even at highest speed. If your electrician installs it properly, it does not require balancing. You need contact to get it at $290?
  10. decided not to post my quartz pics. the pics don't do justice to what it actually looks like, can't capture all the sparklies anyway, here's an update on my shower situation (pushed it out a bit, changed the rainshower from Hansgrohe to Grohe. it looks brighter , feels better , but costs more on another note, do check out the titanic flower (Amorphophallus titanum) that's about to bloom in Singapore Botanic Gardens!
  11. yep. there's also marble too. actually, granite can be cheaper than acrylic, depending on the brand of the acrylic.
  12. Met up with my quartz supplier to discuss on the details. Seems like I can simply overlay on top of my existing Ikea countertop As it is 2cm thick, It will make my countertop thicker by 2cm on all sides, height, length, depth. The look will be similar to this, but mine will have a 2inch backsplash.
  13. no need to apologize again really doesn't bother me. if need help, just let me know.
  14. Thanks It complements the stone tiles I use on the walls. PS. I will also be adding some stainless steel backsplash (excess material from a client) and overlaying my Ikea countertop with Quartz in my kitchen. Stay tune!
  15. it's ok, doesn't bother me at all
  16. Hi all, Just want to add that the obvious difference is that Burmese teak is 12" by 2" while Indonesian teak is 10" by 2". And the cost difference is only about SGD$0.70 psf, not 2x. Of course this may not be the rule of thumb, but that's the difference a supplier told me. Most likely the threadstarter was underquoted because 3 bedrooms at 2k can get you decent laminate flooring, not parquet.
  17. OMG I WANT THIS!!! Can feedback on this? is it useful? Lyn Yep, very useful. Many different compartments for paper towl, aluminium foil, clear clingwrap, small plastic bags, clear adhesive tape holder, small compartment for keys/magnets/other small things.
  18. Just checked with my wetworks subcon. The cement mortar used is between 15mm to 25mm covering a light-weight filler material. He has done this for other HDB flats, no issues. Don't think HDB is very sticky about this regulation, just saw a flat undergone HDB inspection, cement base was 60mm, still approved by the HDB inspector.
  19. On 2 September, 4.28pm, I informed your husband via SMS that I have arranged the painter to come at 2pm on saturday for the touching up of your piping and that I will transfer the remaining 5k less the outstanding balance (which was 2 days past due). On 2 September, 5pm, he responded agreeably. On 2 September, 7.19pm, I forwarded your husband via SMS the confirmation of transfer of the remaining money. On 4 September, 10.47am, he confirmed the receipt of all the outstanding balance and asked me to inform him should there be any shortchange of payment on his side. Anyway, thank you for giving me the chance. It was quite an experience working for you.
  20. I have returned your $15k (minus off the outstanding balance with prior consent from your husband) with confirmation of receipt from your husband. All communications regarding payment were made via SMS/phone calls to husband. If you wish me to respond to any other issues, please let me know.
