My Living Room Wall Lights MBR toilet Light

I do want to say that my electrician is a friend and he has done many houses before. He said, without me telling him about how "good" the tiler is supposedto be, that the tiling workmanship is one of the best he has seen in 4 to 5 yrs. It's done by 2 malaysian men. Well, kudos to Johnny for having this contact! The plumber is his so called personal friend but his workmanship seems a bit.... odd. Will question him why he put a T-joint pipe when he could have run the pipe in one line. Tmr, the painters will come to touch up. In my humble opinion, I think the painter workmanship sucks. I have a feature wall in different colour in every room. And where each wall meets each other, the paint is not even straight! Haiz. I hope this will be rectified tmr and rectified well. I am also very concerned about the holes that the air con men made. They drilled some holes too big and left it there just like that. Who is supposed to patch up the hole now? Johnny? Would he? The air con men, while they did try to take precaution, but the laminate flooring seems to have scratches now cos of them. The laminate guy did not put any protective layer on the floor as well so who's at fault this way? Who is responsibile? The bloody patchy ceiling that the cove lights is shinning onto is giving me a heartache. Really dunno what to do with that one. Anyway, check out the dumping ground of the indian neighbours above me.

Air Con finally up! Decided to buy LG System 3 Non inverter @ $1800+ from Carrefour. Got rebate + Carrefour vouchers somemore! Just one quick question though, they made some holes in the walls here and there. Is my ID supposed to help me patch up?

ai sey! mai siao siao! today i called this company called pinpin to ask them abt plastering the ceiling for me and they say they cannot do if there is a false ceiling there!! have to take out the false ceiling then only can do. dunno is he lazy or what. just my luck

Hmmmm am i going crazy? how come the switches so cheap one? $160 for whole house? Does it include the base of the switch? I have like 25 switches... 6 are 2 gang... Then there is this air con + heater insulator switch which cost about $200+ cos need 1 for 3 air cons and 2 for each heater.... and the main switch box... scv points.... counting all of tat, i have 47 points in my house. ???

No not yet... This Thursday then move in I quite upset... My living room ceiling we did cove lighting... and when I on the cove lighting, I realise the ceiling is superrrrrrrrrr horrid looking... Needs plastering... Asked Johnny how much it'll cost and he said $500. What should I do? What can I do? $500 seems a bit pricey... a lot of the other walls need plastering too... and it looked fine before until I had wall paint on it. Sianz. Spend so much money buying a lot of misc stuff for the house man! Brackets for the light, mirror for the common room toilet, water stoppers for the sinks.. MAN! LOL Btw, is it CRAZY to spend $750 on a house worth of switches? How much is those normal switch selling? Those very oridinary 1 gang kind...?

Hi Ossify, Sorry I think cannot buy leh... cos is not my friend... Is my friend's friend and I was asking my friend can a not... but he say cannot... cos too troublesome... cos you have to go to seletar there to get the stock yourself + the stock there is not 100% (i.e.: you have to wipe it clean cos of dust) and then the owner has to be there when you are there to collect and the owner isn't ard there all the time. Too much coordination I guess. Sorry! Hope you get yours at a great price! Annjoy

Hi Everyone! Thank you for the responses. And sorry for being MIA! Renovation is often frustrating but I trying to appreciate every minute of it. I believe I will look back fondly and enjoy the whole range of feelings from renovation - joy, anticipation, fun, disappointment, frustration and many more. As I see my house coming to life every day, I feel more and more hopeful and look forward to the next day. From a down and out house, my house is now getting new paint and new floors - everything to make it from a pre-loved home to a home that I am going to call MINE with pride. Johnny told me finally that I can move in on the 18th of Jan - without the carpentry. That's great! Exactly what I needed. By the end of last week, the floor tiles were completed, the electrical rewiring was done and the false ceiling went up. Last Sat, I met Johnny to discuss a whole myriad of little details. - I choose the whole house's colours. I cross my fingers and HOPE it will turn out well. - Decided to change the iron wrought main gate. Johnny told me twice before that it costs $280 but when I asked him again, he said it's $480. Maybe I hear wrong. - Chose my bedroom doors too! - Re the pelmut, since he is giving me free for the living room, I said ok to it. - Had a real problem firming on the laminates for the wardrobe and cabinet. So decided to go for a redraw. - It was of course, impossible to firm on the internal structure of the cabinet and wardrobe on the spot as well, so I will have a think about it and do it during the course of this week and revert to Johnny this weekend. - Was very worried my downlights were too big and cannot fit in the false ceiling but Johnny assured us it could - so thank god! - Am very pleased with the false ceiling as well! Didn't seem too low at all. Cool. My house is now being painted and here are some photos to share. - Living Room Feature Wall. First Coat only. - Master Bedroom Feature Wall. First Coat only. - Common Room 1. This is the room I decided to go a little wild with hence the colour. Hope it turns out well. - Common Room 2. Wanted to keep to the modern resort theme - hence this safe colour. Tonight, I choose laminate colours for my 3 bedrooms. I am just going to have to buy my air con and settle the issue with the water heater asap! Water Heater - City Gas Water Heater or Instant Water Heater? Depends on when the City Gas people can come down! They have to let me know where I can put the heater. Hopefully it won't be at a horrible place. Otherwise, I have to go get 2 X Instant Water Heaters.

IMHO, don't put mirror facing any entrances/doors/windows!

Later I can take photo to show! Tiling is 80% done. Electrician is over there now looking over the electrical points. Johnny is finally back from his trip. I got SO MANY questions to ask him!
