  1. alright......HDB did the cement screening and now then we realized that important area, which is the walkway to the bedrooms, kena this.....when you step on the part, the whole laminate "sink in". I am afraid that eventually the laminate would break into pieces..... But who is at fault now? any idea? Should the laminate flooring installer inform the house owner about this problem before completing the job? Do you think HDB need to come and screen again? I am thinking of asking my contractor to settle it as it's quite a small portion. Or shall I leave it and live with it? PowerDekor wanna charge me extra to re-installing this part, but I guess they shall be responsible too right? OMG, it's going to handover soon, but now more and more tiny little problems arise....
  2. from what I remember, the engineering flooring is very different from normal laminate compressed wood. maybe will drop by again to double check.
  3. acidic, in this application, is a very subjective term. It doesn't mean acidic if you have H+ ions. You must have enough H+ to make it RELATIVELY acidic to your body. As I mentioned earlier, the meat or protein intake is probably more acidic than your water intake. Unless you drink coke everyday..... water PH is only 1 of the many factor that contribute "good water" or "health water". there are a few water you shall skip, 1st, RO water, 2nd, distilled water, 3rd, alkaline water or ionized water. these are mainly for machines or industrial use. I dunno why they want to make it for human consumption. NASA invented RO because they can't bring too much water to the space, and it's mainly for short term purpose.
  4. depending what what you want. I just confirmed my order for hubstation, the guy is passing me tomorrow MioTV and Hubstation are targeting at different market. MioTV is more towards the HD side. The speed will depend on your telephone line quality. I went to Taka and saw the demo, **** jialat i tell you. All the HD channels lag until siao......furthermore, you need to get a normal fixed line before you can subscribe to MioTV. If they can resolve the lagging issue, i think it's a good option for HD contents. Hubstation has free 1Mbps internet access. You can actually save quite a lot with this. The downside is, it cost $600 upfront. Unless you sign up 24 months SCV packages, (which only save you $300), you really have to consider if you want to fork up so much for it. I got it at a very good price so to me it's worth it coz there are 16 months free internet access now. SCV has much better programmes compared to MioTV, but starhub really lack of HD contents as of now. And for the rest who are planning to get LCD TV, please consider again, i know the price are very attractive, but all the current channels looks like sai to me......Plasma should be the way to go. However, if you dun mind the poor quality from LCD TV, just go for it bah. If not, get a CRT.
  5. i thought Supreme wasn't good, but now I was wrong....think a bit regretted using PowerDekor...but Supreme doesn't have the color want.....but i think, it's just luck. As for Kronotex, go for their higher range, not just AC4. I kinda love their engineering flooring, I would definitely consider using that in my next renovation
  6. i think I give up the idea already. furthermore we had paid more than enough and waiting for them to refund the extra $$$ we paid. nevertheless, I think they are trying their very best to make sure things are okay. It's lucky that we are not rushing to move in so soon. Imagine, A total of 6 months of renovation since CNY......like building a palace like that lol! I do not want to give them hard time, I think as long as you tell them nicely, and press them a bit to rectify the problems 1 by 1, they will make sure everything would be delivered as promised, besides the dateline sigh....
  7. perfectly fine provided you can seal up the air. U know....germs would grow....including bacteria.
  8. you're just a chem student, no wonder How could "rust" be "acidic"? I'm wondering lol! I maybe wrong, but please give us the formula I never said water filter no good, I said, if you want to buy, buy properly. open eyes big big hoh, those RO filters or ionized water can go drink longkang. Not suitable for most people or majority of consumers. Even if your drinking water is "acidic" relative to your body fluid, it will not be as "acidic" compared to your high protein intake, especially the meat. Water is only 1 of the factors that contribute your health, dun think by drinking health water alone would make you healthy. There are many other factors you need to take into consideration.
  9. now powerdekor and the ID will settle among themselves. I told them to inform me the outcome. no matter what, I won't be paying for it but it has to be fixed!
  10. when did I ever say I want to sue them? i am just asking about demanding compensation from them only.
  11. I saw Harvey Norman selling Bosch WAA-12165ME for $499, is it a good buy? including delivery somemore. somebody mentioned it would actually heat up the water min to 30 degree b4 washing, is that true? Thomson one very expensive right? how come some people mentioned discontinued model better dun buy? if they drop price clear stocks, isn't it the best time to get them?
  12. aiyo, small amount only, the claimable $$$ also can't cover the court fee. Just a verbal thingy lah, i dun want to press them too much also, at least must wait until they fix up everything then I see if I want to bring out this thing
  13. now ID and powerdekor guy are meeting at my new place, seems okay, think they will resolve among themselves. I dun care already, as long as everything back to sui sui, dun need me to pay, i'm fine.
  14. Hi all, My renovation is delayed for at least 2 months, and the worse thing was, some of the carpentry(including main door and features) and lightings accessories were damaged during installation/due to improper installation. Just wondering how do you guys calculate the compensation amount? The conservancy fee? Rubbish collection? and what else? Do you think we shall also clock in the time and effort wasted at our side(eg rental incurred while waiting for handover)? How do you measure them by $$$? Any suggestion?
  15. i'm just curious, for those washer, do they actually do some form of protection to cover the laminate skirting? Now 1 party claimed that the washer did not cover the skirting. Then the ID side said they never need to protect the skirting, other brands all no problem during the washing. So who is right and who is wrong?
  16. so what's their strength? modern? or victorian? or baokalioa one?
  17. bullet, you didn't get it right. It is the skirting that's warp, the flooring is fine.... laminate skirting and laminate flooring are of 2 different range of products and 2 different materials...although similar. They can be MDF, or HDF.
  18. After general cleaning and flooring washing, bad things happened. As we are using laminate skirting for whole house, we are facing this skirting warp problems..... almost all the corners of the skirting in the living/dining/foyer area (which have tiles flooring) warped. some part of the laminate itself also warp, it's quite obvious that the skirting actually kena water seep in liao..... now the problem is, I dunno if the washing guy (managed by my ID/designer) did any skirting protection before cleaning. According to them, they never encounter such thing. They claimed that PowerDekor has low grade laminate skirting..... On the other hand, PowerDekor (managed by my closet designer) claimed that the washing guy never protect the skirting before their washing work...... now I kena stuck in between. The total cost of these skirting is $290. I would say 25% of these are affected/warped. so i guess the cost of replacing these warped skirting is $72.50. If both parties can't resolve anything, do you think I can demand them to bare the cost 50/50? which is not so significant..... anybody encountered similar thing? do you think it's the skirting problem or the washing guy problem? I am thinking of changing the skirting to a better quality/brand one.....think PowerDekor's skirting really got some quality issue, although their AC3 laminate seems better than Supreme..... sianz ah......help help help!! Meeting my ID later 8am.....b4 rushing for work.
  19. cool! thanks a lot! those outdoor paint are waterproof right? maybe use outdoor paint to paint the door?
  20. it's "DANIELA PAINTED FLORAL MIRROR", just wondering how did they make the design, sticker? laser? super ex from the local agent, 2x more ex compared buying in UK.
  21. you sure or not? Mango & Zara master franchise is under Li & Fung Limited u know? I dun see the Li family in the board of directors, maybe from the Li's?
  22. frankly speaking, collecting payment upfront so long b4 delivery sound fishy. they must be in financial crisis and require large amount of cash to row....usually I only pay the balance like 2-3 days b4 the delivery or pay cash on the delivery day itself.
  23. you need to have all the dimension ready b4 you start looking lor.
  24. just to add on, you dun need to get HDB approval as you're "restoring back" the original look.
  25. no, they are not pirated, not the same as those "expensive pirated but genuine pirated" DVD in JB. The cost of producing these china DVD is lower compared to genuine . How to differentiate them? genuine pirated DVD are mostly filmed in the movie and as a results, it's d@mn blur, especially for new movies. However, by trying your luck, you could get some copied directly from master disc which is having the same quality as the originals, with all the features. China version approved original DVD however, is also very clear but with very limited features and they are strictly china/hk movies only. It's meant for china market as the average income is lower there, it's not even meant for macau and hongkong market if you see the fineprint So the rule is rather strict at the first place, ONLY SOLD IN MAINLAND CHINA. okay, my knowledge is only up to years ago when these china DVD are not available locally yet maybe there are some info is not 100% correct liao lah. It's illegal to export the China DVD out, but it's legal to import them to any other country, provided the importing country has no control about it. Export restriction is enforced by the China government and importing to SG is under immigration and MDA's control. The joke is MDA bohchap and didn't care about protecting the local distributors. That's what happened now. U know, they even got approved censored sticker from MDA u know? It's the same as playstation, and some other products. Certain things are only meant for certain countries. If i'm not wrong Sony used to sue a HK company til they bankrupt coz they export their HK set (or some games I can't remember) to european countries.
