  5. depending on the kinda tiles you are looking at prices range from 60-70c all the way to double digits in dollars, from ceramic to homogeneous to natural stones the popular range these days are homo... the bulk of it are from china... prices can vary from $1 to $3-4, depending on the quality, color and brand for fairly good quality, there are a wide variety if brands and colors for those in the $2.50-$3.30 range... warpage for kitchen and toilet tiles are minimal due to the dimensions... common ones are 300x300 and the biggest ones are about 450x450mm You dun have to worry much about warpage in this case so look at your budget... go do some survey at the tile suppliers for the price and range you can select for your budget then select the tile model for your ID to buy for you... that way, you will know if you are overcharged
  6. the difference between the 2007 and its predessor is not much difference when it comes to daily usage... so one is not likely to need the newer features just yet. Unless the licencing is cheaper, there is no rush for getting 2007

  8. lifespan of a laptop is really dependant on your usage... but if you are looking at one for the long term use, DON'T look at HP or Compaqs... they are useless after 3-4 yrs of usage. Mine served me for 4 years and totally died on me... cos the battery and dunno what is spoilt... and replacing them cost me almost half the price I paid for the laptop... so upgraded to a desktop ever since. My wife's Toshiba, 7 years on, and still running good... slow but steadily working on all my documents and presentation slides.

  17. One of the trick to get your budget is to get a quotation for the whole house if you read my blog on strategies... EA comes with a certain price expectation tag... it is sort of an industry practice. looking at your requirements, you are not customizing the whole house furniture... so what I would do is to include things like cabinets, build-in wardrobes and additional kitchen cabinets to your list when seeking a quotation... this is to beat the "package" mentality most contractors have. DO a survey of the prices of current PFR or per unit cost on everything quoted , then give the contractor your budget like $30-35k for everything mentioned above. Remember to get them to itemize the costing... if not for every item, then at least a break down for each room. When you get the quote, you got to do a little homework... breakdown everything to its unit cost... then remove the additional items you have no need for... this will bring you closer to the budget you truly want. !! Hope it is useful
