  1. I picked up the WD14331 from Mega Discount Store (United Square) in Oct 09 for $799, with extra $20 for delivery. This one is without the Tromm logo. I had gone there recently to see built-in oven and the price on display for 14331 was $1099. But, I think, they are pretty open to bargaining and I have bought most of my appliances from them at lowest price (sometimes the Katong Mall outlet gives a slightly better price) after scouting around everywhere. So, it might be worth a try asking them to come down to their best price.
  2. After going thru renotalk, we used 138 Professional Movers while moving house in Oct and were quite happy with their service. The quote was reasonable and I even managed to bring it down by 50. We actually added one mattress and a rocking chair while moving, over what was decided at the time of quote, but they did not create any fuss. They came 15 mins early with 7 workers, who did a very fast and efficient job. Arranged the boxes and cabinets neatly in our new house. After a month, we called them for returning the boxes and they came immediately with the refund. Overall, a very good and hassle free experience.
  3. We bought a flat in Strathmore Avenue in May at 20K below value - 7 year old, high floor, very good condition and tasteful decor. Apart from furniture and appliances, spent less than 3k on minimal reno like painting and adding fans and lights and overlaying bathroom floor and the result is very nice. Guess we chose the right time to buy.
  4. Hi, I am a new member, but have been following this forum for quite a few months now as I was setting up my new house. Most of my home purchases were made after going thru this forum and LG 14331 is one of them (Miele was way out of my budget). After using my washer dryer for 3 months, I can say that this is the most vfm purchase I have made. The running costs are not very high and the quality of wash is extremely good. Of course, I am comparing it with my earlier top load machines and not any high end ones. I am amazed at the minimal amount of water and detergent needed. I had an initial problem with water overflow, which was due to the height of my hdb drain outlet. Though it was not a LG problem, they sent a technician. The service was extremely prompt and efficient. The technician clearly explained the type of extention required and drew the exact dimensions of the pipe fittings. I was able to solve my problem with $1.70 extention from local hardware store. The service itself would make me recommend the machine wholeheartedly.
  5. Hello Tiler Seng, Could you tell me how much you would be charging for overlaying floor tiles (with or without tile cost) in two toilets and the time taken?
  6. hi, I have been doing a lot of running around for stand alone ovens too as hubby was not too keen on built-in. Rowenta and De Longhi both seem to be good choices for reliability. Rowenta is made in France and De Longhi in Italy. Both are around sgd 500 for capacity around 40 ltrs. In the lower range models, techno seems to be the best. It has 50 ltrs capacity and can be picked up below 200 in a sale. It has both fan as well as rotisserie (rowenta and de longhi have either one). But, it is made in china so the quality may not match rowenta or de longhi.
