all your walls are plastered right? so no matter where u hack will also damage the plastered wall. u can ask your contractor to help you patch back before you start your painting. i assume painting has not started.

today supposed to be air con installation by gain city. appt was 930 and they only came at 12pm and still installation cannot be done today. postponed till tomorrow. so pissed off. they did not call me to inform me that they will be later. i called them 3 times and no one followed up till the 3rd call. really disappointed and just sent them a complain email. hope tomorrow will be less drama.

i always hear people say cannot install 2 instant heater but i can't find the rule in the hdb reno guideline. only for those with 30amp main switch, instant heater cannot exceed 3kW. mine is 40amp main switch and there's no limit on the current. do u know where to find the rule?

if really overhaul whole house, 20k is not enough.

ok lah.. i already have 2 down lights over my dining area. about 1m from the light to the kitchen wall. should be able to illuminate that area. more lights = more $$. maybe your ID can deliver faster.

there are special type of sinks that can only be undermount. undermount sinks the tap will be mounted to your counter top. but i think most sinks out there should also be able to be undermount. maybe u decide what you want then go ask more from the shop.

yah... cos the original living room ceiling with the false ceiling is only about 1-2 inches lower than the kitchen ceiling. So the false ceiling over the kitchen ceiling is only to flush the ceiling to make it look even. height is about 2.4m so should be ok. agree is extra money spent but i dun want to regret not doing lor. well, now everyone will say year end rushing for CNY. 2 weeks is a conservative estimate, hopefully they can rush it out for me.

my main worry is carpentry now, only took measurements today. if 2 weeks to make the cabinets, then i only have the last week of Jan to install it. Very tight for me also. The rest of the job should be ok. Keeping my fingers crossed and try to push my contractor as much as i can. So far, he has been quite ok. Hope your's will be on time also. Yah in the end did false ceiling from wall to wall. The kitchen ceiling which now joined the living ceiling, I just did a false ceiling to make it level with the living room false ceiling. That area now is too shallow to put any lights, aesthetic purpose only.

i did not get the gate from my contractor, i got it from my window guy. price is $400 upwards depending on design. i am using solid classic for my bedroom doors.

Day 34. Tiling all done. False ceiling all done. living room door steps new rubbish chute mbr, wiw and storeroom kitchen Electrical partially done. Meeting carpenter tomorrow. Aircon, painting and plumbing next week. Hopefully our doors will come too followed by our new gate and window grilles. Lastly the room laminate flooring and wardrobe. 3 more weeks to the end of the month and HO date. Hope everything can go on smoothly.

they dun do installation but they will provide a contact for the installation work. pricing abt the same as what u mentioned. maybe u can check with them. cos in the end i did not get my lights from them.

maybe can consider to lay the trunking behind the wall and then drill a hole out to the point. the inside will have more cables tho.

everything looking nice. check with you, for your door lock, did u remove the existing locking mechanism in the door and replace it with the digital lock? meaning only the handle + the digital lock? cos me contemplating whether to keep the existing lock in the main door when adding the digital lock. thanks

typical contractor/ID price. if u engage directly, will be slightly cheaper. how much cheaper will depend on how many points you are doing.

i also can live without aircon but my wife cannot. if install during reno, easier to find ways to 'hide' the trunking lor.
