DAY 14 - What a hacktus huh cause is really a hiatus with my reno! but to cut the long story short, hey hey.. hacking are all done (it better) finally! entrance to kitchen hacked widened and touched up. also making way for the kitchen cabinets, flushing together with the bomb shelter another kitchen wall hacked and touched up to anticipate for open kitchen mbr door frame removed and moved front. partial wall for wiw room hacked to make way for sliding glass tiling works has also commenced slightly on common toilet but... while i am open to different tiling layout and did share the idea of creating a taller bathroom by laying the tiles vertically, i remember id and i reverted back to horizontally in order to have the lines meet nicely. cause if you notice, the length of the feature wall tiles are slightly longer than the white ones beside it. the tiler already skillfully catch the line nicely at eye level but needless to say, some alignment would be off for the rest. wife is worried that the floor tiles line would be even harder to catch together with the wall tiles' alignment. so wife insist that we halt the tiling works coming tues and asked if the the tiles are able to place the conventional horizontal way. I too share her concern but can't help feeling that hey, it may turn very nice doing the tiles this way! comments anyone? hai.. shall see how. if all is good then, am expecting the team to be going full swing with the tiling works for the rest of the week!

GREAT! this shop looks like exactly what my wife wants. hordes of dining chairs for her to choose now.. ha she's quite keen on one from red apple actually but after sharing with my wife how "famous" they are, my wife is hesitant. seems like problem solved with this shop! I like it!

thinking further, think not so bad cause afterall the quilt can rest it nicely to cover it huh. u mean buying the storage can daringly ask for 4 hydraulic instead of the normal 2? haha... my wife went looking for it too but alas, is no longer there le. how?! we cannot settle for those normal fold majong tables lei. hahaha hahah.. u got a point. but think wife dont see the point. whole point is to have a headboard to dress up together with the wallpaper. and i buy her point too. zelly, if you're asking me instead.. is 1.2k jus for headboard with storage (2 hydraulics) u have better lobang? ha sorry sorry, PMed you only today.

sometimes the budget burst not because of the big ticket items... cause that's already factored in. are those small ad hoc seemingly harmless buys that are cancer to the budget. ha.... the latest damages done to the pocket ceiling fan from Alpha bought @ A Lighting. thumbs up for Alex for recommending this design! see the stainless steel over there. yea, we needed that yet another purchase bought solely on aesthetic part only - C.S. Solingen-Galaxy-Knife Block Set from Meyer @ Great World see the whole single stainless steel piece on each knife? yea, we wanted that long ago! but we have our WMF knife block, so if anyone interested in buying my knife block, pm me ya! and no way are we ending our shopping without a trip inside iwannagohome. and there, we finally decide to buy our vacuum flask after a 40% discount is miserable at 750ml capacity but see the stainless steel there? yea, we wanna that. highly impulse buying when we see iwannagohome selling at $26 after seeing Lim's Art selling a similar one at over $40 at Holland V. our kitchen dinings are strictly procelain and this for sure will complement those we bought at Sia Huat. highly probable that it would be used to serve stir-fry ikan bilis with dark soya only for many meals to come cause we're too broke after spending on the house! ha! and then dinner at IMM and after 45 mins walking at Daiso to digest the dinner, we found ourselves making more purchases. wife didnt like it but i jus love it to use it to serve cola for friends. bought 6 at one go. and if add those earlier purchases made on sat at king koil.... coming wednesday better buy bigger. hahaha

erm... never see coffin no drop tears. i bought more stuff today! hahaha i can check it out for you cause afterall, they're into customisation too. lovely! tks for the heads up! will have to wait for my id to revert what blum system is he using based on the quotation. then i will check it out with Kiang Sing Hong. eh, my bathroom fittings are not completed yet. only managed to get my hansgrohe stuff and that is at 1k damage le i'm still short of 2 sinks and bowls, 2 equal bowls kitchen sink and a kitchen industrial tap/mixer

and very early indeed! was there better pillows on level 5? i stopped briefly on level 5 on friday itself to recce the sale to check out head boards and bed frames. but totally disappointed with the limited selections didnt know there's pillows as well. hmm... or did they only put the pillows on display on sat only? cause came saturday, wife and i attacked level 1 tent sale only. was close to buying 2 micro-gel pillows as well @ $40 per piece but did not in the end. we had 2 free deep sleep pillow from Simmons but we wanna make our bed setting more lux and hotel feel. so need 4 pillows in total. hmm.. $30 for tencel pillows seems like a steal. should i? hmm is this related to my joke? hahahaah

and from king koil, wife and i moved over to univonna at the other bend to settle our bedframe after good vibes from RT that univonna's workmanship is acceptable. in fact, we were that close to ordering our sofa from univonna at furniture mall previously. @ 670 sans storage, is still 100+ or 200+ cheaper than the one shortlisted previously at IFC, Englander and definitely much much cheaper than the likes of Massimmo. choice 1: high headboard and velvet material gives a better lux feeling we feel choice 2: high headboard, bigger squares but PU material. need to change legs to a shorter if we are to choose this however, storage space under the bed seems really a good solution for bulky items. but the price escalates to a hefty $1200 straightaway. and the design at the storage area is not to our liking either (the headboard design can be replaced with choice 1 or 2). does storage comes without the divider in the middle? the makers mentioned that it cant be done as single piece. anyone knows

WA... and suddenly reno is almost completed already? hahahaha... must been really a smooth sailing one for you. really happy for you! hahah.. eyes a bit auto cue now to air con pipings and trunkings cause seemingly tough to hide it at my new place. all are concrete beams above my doors can you imagine! so jus wanna ask, where is the aircon piping? the kitchen turned out alright indeed! pipings are already a thing in the past now! haha can i ask also, if the blum drawers and runners are under your ID package or you buy seperately? what's the damage? all in all, everything is all spanky clean and neat!

wanting to spread the love around too, hope this wet chilly sunday late morning posting catches some late birds trying to find out more bout king koil's warehouse sale. certainly a wide selection of items that can be bought from there, from mattresses, furnitures to linens but coming from a warehouse sale, you may want to discount the designs available or the therelackof. but items like additional pillows, duvet or tops is definitely quite a decent buy i feel. perhaps the most puzzling thing i saw at king koil yesterday was the so many people there not for mattress or linens but bras!? oh, if i may add, this just in. reading from giraffe's post, thread counts may be misleading ya. am a tad too late cause i bought mine. anywayz.. Q size duvet (Bought @ $139 $70) Q size set (1 duvet cover, 1 sheet, 2 pillow shams & 2 bolster cases bought @ $80) Pillow protector (set of 2 @ $15)
