  2. I had similar encountered at Singtel shop few yrs back when i wanted to sign up for broadband... The sales person even dared tell me to take leave and wait for them at home was so frustrated that i walked out of the shop immediately... then went to sign up with MaxOnline
  3. i saw a coffee table similar to yours at Red Apple 2 days back... Quite nice but i'm also hesitant to get anything from them after reading all the comments in RT...
  4. May I ask... how come cannot paint SS pipes? My company got a lot of painted SS piping.... In my home now... Small dia pipes are SS and big dia pipes are PVC. Actually for big dia pipe, whether PVC or not, still will be noisy when water run through
  5. Haha so qiao... no prob at all... we were free so it's okie to wait your boy is so cute and active hee hee My reno will start in mid June
  6. i also heard something similar from the contractors i met. but the difference is that all of them told me copper is cheaper! Reason being: SS pipe-to-pipe joints are done by a fitting and its threading is weaker than copper, so its easier to have water leakage. As such, for SS pipe, contractor will need to run a leakage test to ensure the installation is done properly, and this test incurs extra cost. Some contractors are willing to do it for free though. Some ID told me SS is only for aesthetic so if you wanna paint over the pipe, just use copper one and save $. however, for us in engineering field, SS is always good for water application due to corrosion resistance... so imho, i'll go for SS over copper~ my suspect is that these common home use SS doesn't have threading as properly done as those industrial grade one, hence the leakage problem. What i heard is that if initial installation is done properly, leakage problem should be minimal. So far my home SS piping has been used for 13 yrs and totally problem-free
  7. New member reporting! Haha just signed with Henry Saw a family signing with Henry when I went to his office on Sunday... england could that be you?
  8. Reuben, you're getting keys in June iirc, rite? mine should be in June too wah if you're changing job then you'll be super busy... Same here! At least after confirming ID, can zoom into proper planning and not wasting any more time on comparing quotes LOL~ Haha i think i'm equally gancheong... guess we're just excited to be new home owners and wanna settle things chop chop
  9. With the rate you're going, i guess you have no problem to settle before end of May... good luck~
  10. Oh they're at Beauty World. Website is here: http://www.labelleliving.com/
  11. So far for all the contractors/IDs i contacted, they told me beforehand that they won't quote for electrical work until they do site check. this is becos it's hard to decide the wiring, relocation of existing pointsetc at this point of time, and they don't want to anyhow quote. Maybe you wanna ask your ID if that's the case another way is to ask them the unit price for each type of work (e.g. how much to relocate one tv point etc).
  12. yo Simon, thanks for the contact. Met with Henry last weekend to discuss on the quote.... He's very friendly Now pending for owner to get back to us on site survey date... hope he won't be taken up by then~
  13. Thanks ngunadi sigh was hoping that we can apply on seller's behalf cos they would not help in applying...
  14. Hi, would like to ask... I'd like to start reno immediately after 2nd appointment, so am hoping to get all the permits done during the wait between 1st & 2nd appointment. All contractors i spoke to said we can get the seller to sign an indemnity form for this purpose. But how about the actual application of permit? who is supposed to apply? me, contractor, or seller? Thanks in advance~
  15. you can go to File --> Export --> 2D graphics
  16. Hi Hi... Anyone use them for reno before? Please share your feedback on this company~ Thanks in advance~
  17. Congrats on getting your new home just wondering, is your home those pre-fab one? cos the lines of the partitioning walls are all thick thick de... Which corner of MBR are you planning to do the WIW?
  18. If you like quieter environment, then i guess your 515m away from MRT would be a better choice.. those blocks right next to the MRT can be very noisy and have a lot of human traffic.
  19. It really differs from person to person. My fren feels that 15 mins walk (close to 1km) is near. My hubby feels that anything more than 5 mins is far I guess 600m would still be considered near. My walking time to a block ~600m from MRT is 7 mins...
  20. Haha restaurant feel... so cute imho your trolley matches the surrounding better in its original colour, maybe just stay as it is ba... brown is more resistant to dirt too hahaha Going for holiday? Have a safe and enjoyable trip~!
  21. Not planning to get ID cos we more or less knoq what we want Yea actually a lot of ID firms at IMM and Tradehub, but many have bad comments or v expensive for contractors, very little review on the west side ones... saw some contractors near the market le, but dunno if they good or not we also have tight deadline to meet... now starting to meet with different contractors, quite excited but some already turned down due to our request for shorter reno time frame... When's your expected completion date?
