  1. Hi Rim as you mentioned, it's all dependent on staffing arrangement and their schedule, so my advice is to book them first as soon as you can. Just need to give a tentative date of installation, at least this way you are free to make changes to the date (of course with sufficient notice given) rather than to be at their mercy. I think many other things is ok to wait, but since aircon trunking etc needs to be positioned before other scope of reno can roll, then the best bet is to confirm it sooner.
  2. thanks for compliments, banned. yup, def open for orders - that's partly why I am staying up later and later of late - becoming panda-eyed already. btw, you moved in? nowadays no more updates for yr house anymore? I thought one pic a day?
  3. thanks for yr compliments. the children will go "ouch' "ouch" as they the different parts of the figures. ha ha btw flame, yr chiffon - did you invert the tin when cooling? and no greasing the base and sides right?
  4. Hi oogachaga (cute nick you have!) You use the dish washer every day? Just curious how heavily it zaps electricity? similar to a dryer, you think?
  5. very interesting to read about updates after move in bc this is when any issues or should (not) do etc things surface. Thanks for continuing to post!
  6. Hi can ask what is the inside (of cabinet) like? Is it a panel with a hole for the water pipe? also, does the vanity top "touch" the glass shower screen? Or is there a gap in between?
  7. thanks for the pix, Reglxt door frame looks the same as mine. hmm ... next reno project when we revamp the toilets!
  8. ya, me too. Even though I turn out the hood, the top cabinets at the sides of the hood is quite oily. Maybe it's the glossy laminate that make it so obvious.
  9. I almost got this hob also! But in the end, salesman and hubby managed to persuade me to take the brandt instead. Do you wash the cover often?
  10. hey fv2 congrats! finally it's yr turn - luckily you already got ID, bc I think busy period for them is coming up
  11. hi sfk Yr total area is 95sqm? Looks so spacious - doesn't look like 95 at all! Just curious - are bw included in the floor area? I think bay windows are nice too and I love yr marble flooring! welcome to RT!
  12. hey kerio congrats on moving in! I think yr house is nicely done, despite the prob u had with yr ID earlier! and it's good that they did try to rectify and get things right! Liked yr tv feature wall most - very unique - must be quite costly to do that design right? and wow, $500 is alot to spend on a single marketing trip! Yr house must be all fully equipped to cook a big feast now! congrats again!
  13. hi Schutz welcome welcome. Not sure if anyone has answered, but u can get the string curtain from spotlight, or more cheaply from arab street. If you are engaging a curtain specialist to do yr house curtains, they can certainly do that too. I had a small set of string curtains which the curtain man gave me FOC
  14. blush blush .. it's interest lah .. ya lor, you are so fortunate. Plus yr huge wardrobe to keep all yr 有的没的. haha
  15. 15may, that's royal icing. Just use about 125g sifted icing sugar whisk with 1 egg white. The consistency should be quite stiff so that it can stick. If too watery (eg if egg is too big) just add more icing sugar, and vice versa. If you are not comfortable with raw egg white, can also use meringue powder
  16. may this is an issue with new houses. My previous house, which was built more than 20 yrs ago does not have this issue. All cabinets are full cabinets - no pipes running across - so this is somethng we have to get used to
  17. like the second kitchen more - look like my kitchen
  18. love yr kitchen - envy the amount of work space you have!
  19. hmm .. next time i do reno i will know lor
  20. dunno, just thinking if there is a way to do toilet floor minus the grout problem, so the flooring must be something "one piece"
  21. go get the ikea white bathroom stool. the best I have come across so far - I think it's going at $4.90 one of these days in Dec during its daily special. Dunno if coincide with $4 meatball day?
  22. ok will pm u in a while, but what do u mean by "the area with tracks installation"? Actually I suspect this is the case in many houses, just that outsiders will not know if they are not open. For our case, we are initially deeply shocked when we opened the cabinets, though the beams are nothing new. It's been there since day 1, just that as amateurs, we did not "realise" that the beams do eat up half the top cabinet space. In our planning, we had initially opted for a slim line hood so as to maximise storage space, but with the extended kitchen and falsely believing that we have "so many" cabinets, we changed our mind last minute and bought a chimney hood for the aesthetics. So we were a bit "disgusted" when reality hit. kinda regretted the buy and a bit disappointed that Edmund did not highlight the space eaten up by the beams. But then again, if you don't box up, it won't really look nice also, so not much of a choice either? well, actually, there are 2 more areas that need his help. We have notified him way back during handover time, but since he asked sincerely for some time since he is quite busy then with (I guess) yours and a few others work, and since those 2 areas are not life threatening, we have told him it's ok - no need to rush but to let us know when he is able to arrange. Already past quite long now, thought maybe I should give him a friendly sms again. But since he is still with yr reno, maybe you can just sound him out - paiseh to push again bc not urgent
  23. more .. That's all for now ... going back to the kitchen ... Enjoy!
  24. another project at home ... I love the smell of gingerbread .. it just lingers on through the night, wake up with stomach growling and this? now which one shall I savour first? busy busy for my girls too .. though this was last yr's batch
