  1. Hi happybride Welcome to Compassvale Green! Hi evangelion !! Welcome to Compassvale Green!
  2. I would say it's an own time own target lor. So far, been doing it since mid-2002 to date. Of course, being a homemaker (by my choice, btw) also has it's ups and downs lah. And it also depends on your own expectation. The downside, - u get lesser money for more work to be done - sometimes can feel as if you're on standby 24/7, working more than 16 hours a day. - When I get ill & visit doctor, doctor asked me if need MC or not, I will ask back if can submit MC to my hubby or not. And not guaranteed that I will get off from housework. - alot of people think that I'm free most of the time. Actually, homemakers also need proper schedule to keep their sanity. The upside, - can go to the banks any time during biz hours - no need to wait for weekends to go to the zoo, bookstores, sentosa, IKEA or shopping malls - noon time enjoy see other people rushing back to office, while u enjoy your kopi or tea for a longer time - drive during off-peak hours - use public transport during off-peak and mad hours, no need to squeeze with the crowds - and many many more !!
  3. Me at Blk 299B (the unpopular block that the EAs suddenly sold like hotcakes). Today is Day 1 of hacking works for one of my other neighbour downstairs. And many more to go. Anyway, since the reno timings and days are abided so far, I'm ok with it. After all, it's inevitable that people will do hacking works mah. Aiyah...at least u can take leave or choose to go to work. I'm a homemaker lah. The next closest thing that I can do is to "escape" to my parent's place only when it's unbearable.
  4. Hi avatar Yup, curtains coming in later today. So many things to do....aiyohh...faint.
  5. This glass cistern reminds me of the glass sink at a shop in Plaza S'pura. Very swee looking sink-cum-fish tank. The price also very swee.....S$3000+ after discount.
  6. OMG Wah, seepage is very bad when it already affected your neighbour downstairs. Would like to suggest to you: - Take lots of photos as evidence of the damages that u can see and found. - Cracks, damages & rusts outside your unit ---- fwd photos and complain to Town Council. - Cracks, damages & rust inside your unit ---- fwd photos and complain to HDB. For the cracked tiles, it seems that highly likely the tiles should be hacked and relayed as there's seepage involved, and you haven't start any reno yet. And find out if your block has undergone the Repair & Repainting (R&R) works done by Town Council or not. Make your $10 coupon paid previously worth it
  7. Wah....spam queen is here! How are you amigo?
  8. Hi bluberi !! Sorry I missed your housewarming last month. :paisey: Yup, it's a gd feeling isn't it, finally having a place of our own. Btw, the exercise corner do exist lah...it's behind my block and it's facing the TPE. And I think I saw what looked like a BBQ pit at one corner, also facing the TPE. Was driving out of the carpark last night when I thought I saw it. I think I better double-check, in broad daylight..ha ha. Oh, now I know..hee hee! I booked my unit in Nov 2005, got keys in Feb 2006.

  13. The Hannah bag's features: - 6 internal pockets including 1 with zip closure for valuables. - 2 external pockets on the front with buckle detail. - 1 external pocket on the back with zip closure. - Dummy/key clip. - Stylish change mat. - Removal shoulder/pram strap. - Ultra soft touch Italian leather. For the price of AU$450. For that kind of price, beats any high-end designer boutique handbags that doesn't have the capacity & features of Hannah bag. At least when kids grown up, can still use the bag for both work and leisure lor - w/o sacrificing style & sophistication in parenthood, doesn't look like those baby bags that we commonly see here - the pink or blue with little cartoons type

  16. My hubby can't complain abt having a shoe cabinet because.... ............................... because ................................................. ........................................................he has alot more footwear and clothes than me. My footwear (sandals, mules, slippers, Crocs) occupy one shelf, while our son's footwear occupy another shelf. The rest of the whole shoe cabinet, is fully stuffed with hubby's footwear. And he's the one that forked out $$ for the shoe cabinet.
  17. Jaren, is your unit the one in front of the lift? You mean the cleaners never clear the common chute area at all? If like that, can complaint to TC first and ask why never clear the rubbish as it can pose major fire hazard.

Got Hari Raya mood food Or maybe chicken burittos
  19. The question is....why stop an enjoyable relationship when mothers & babies concerned, often enjoy breastfeeding alot? Breastmilk when the baby is at 1 month old, will naturally differ when the infant is 10 months old, what more when the child is at 30 months old. The breastmilk's composition of hundreds of nutrients will vary itself according to the baby's needs - on a hot day, when the baby's sick, when the child is not eating, etc. Even after six months, it still contains protein, fat, and other nutritionally important and appropriate elements which babies and children need. Breastmilk still contains immunologic factors that help protect the baby. In fact, some immune factors in breastmilk that protect the baby against infection are present in greater amounts in the second year of life than in the first. This is, of course as it should be, since children older than a year are generally exposed to more infection. The child who breastfeeds until he weans himself (usually from 2 to 4 years), is generally more independent, and, perhaps, more importantly, more secure in his independence. He has received comfort and security from the breast, until he is ready to make the step himself to stop. And when he makes that step himself, he knows he has achieved something, he knows he has moved ahead. It is a milestone in his life. (source: Dr Jack Newman) As for semi-solid food diet, usually your baby's PD should advise when is the appropriate time to start according to your baby's or child's overall condition and health. Starting solid or semi-solid foods doesn't mean that the baby has to totally stop bf, it's just that the breastfeeding intake will naturally decrease when there's increase in frequency & intake of solid foods. Cheers!
  20. As of 1987, it was required to set aside the Minimum Sum at age 55. (Source: CPF Board) And that was 20 years ago, so whoever turned 55 in 1987 would be 75 in 2007, hence affected under the Minimum Sum Scheme already. Homeowners who have purchased property using their CPF savings, it's auto-pledged only when he/she is unable to set aside the required cash component of the Minimum Sum at age 55. For those who are able to set aside the full minimum sum at age 55, then the property is not auto-pledged. For homeowners who purchase property using hard cash, of course CPF has no charge on the property regardless of whether affected since 1987 or not. In this case, for this such person upon turning 55, there's no pledging of property involved. For deceased cases, we have to also ensure whether or not the deceased has ever set aside the Minimum Sum jointly with a spouse (this is one of the most commonly overlooked factor). And it is also known that whether or not the deceased made a valid CPF nomination, that any properties bought with CPF savings are not covered under CPF Nomination, but instead will form part of the deceased's estate. Should the deceased did not make any CPF nominations or when existing Nominations are revoked (null & void) due to a marriage after a valid CPF Nomination done, only after CPFB is satisfied that there were indeed no nominations made and/or revoked then the whole case will be closed accordingly & subsequently transferred to the Public Trustee for distribution according to the written law. Then on, Letter of Administration or Grant of Probate will have to be submitted to PT accordingly. Cheers!
