Totally not skinny anymore omgah. Probably need layers of Spanx~ I think I'm just embarrassed to be huffing and puffing in front of others. I'm very self-conscious. Only person who has seen me workout is The Husband, and that took him more than a year for me to get to that comfort level. It took him 6 months to even see me eat in front of him! I'm just so weird Lol Marshy, you made me laugh with the strange people at the gym (PJs, seriously??) I also don't like the exhibitionistic types who walk around naked in the bathroom because they know they have a good body. Like naked and applying makeup! She was eventually given a warning before getting banned from the gym for her um daring behaviour. I motivate myself by buying nice workout gear Cute boyshorts and awesome sports bras from Moving Comfort, Under Armour, Champion and I love my Kayanos. Once I get motivated enough to put on the shoes, the rest will come. The problem with working out at home is that no one is there to correct your form, which is why I use the swivel TV to face a full length mirror Good music always helps too - I kickbox very happily to Run DMC haha! What I do like about my body is that it's strong and it can move furniture around That sense of empowerment is far greater than being starved, denying yourself of that last piece of tiramisu, eating like a rabbit, and being able to fit into that clingy dress. - Ely

I blocked out my windows with the wardrobe and still no 23ft!! Mmm fireflies - Bondi will be entranced - Ely

Heya Marshy, Yeah, that was quite a while back when we had a loonnng discussion about TCM. Still coughing very badly (from the asthma) so definitely will have to wait a bit before even attempting a workout. Man, my stamina is probably so crap that I might not even pull through a yoga session bleh. Loved it when I could plough through 1.5hrs of intense kick boxing and circuit training. Never worked out all my life - only started a year ago and the body is such an amazing machine, it simply adapts and recovers faster than I can imagine. Within a month, I was RUNNING - an awesome feel for someone so bogged down with asthma as could never run before. I'm too shy to join a gym. Prefer to work out at home to videos. Don't know why but I'd feel conscious if someone watches me work out or if I cannot keep up with the class. also, stationery machines are too boring for me - my interest wouldn't last 10mins on the Stairmaster or treadmill Luckily, I've shifted the photoshoot to Sep, so have time to get into shape! Or get some facials! - Ely

No need for doorbells when you have ever-alert, super-protective Maxey about! Without the pack of dogs now, he feels it's his sole responsibility to guard the place (and me) and is even sacrificing his afternoon naps for this! Yeah, all the delivery people are always so confused and have to look at neighbour's tarnished plate to determine ours. - Ely

Bondi is not a ragdoll, though I intended to get one actually while in Australia but was disappointed when I visited the breeder's place. Bondi is a British Shorthair. Do let me know what areas of recommendations are needed, I'll be more than happy to point you in the right direction Yes I know my T-blog is long-winded without enticing pics - just loquacious prose and constant laments It would take quite a bit of time and determination to go through my blog in its entirety. - Ely

Yes we are, because we can only dream of 23ft wardrobes. I have no more space for shoes - am sure The Husband is secretly gleeful about this. Even had to stack my shoes to fit the wardrobe~ I totally agree about the REAL online gurl gamers - have seen some scary ones - you're definitely not one of them. Also, I'm not "incredibly hawt" (that category belongs to Monica Belluci, Megan Fox and Angelina Jolie) - really more an average Singaporean gurl who's really good at disguising her geeky side. Ha! No false modesty here - am simply stating a fact. Have seen gorgeous Singaporean girls gracing our clubs and streets and felt so inadequate. Love your online buys - have eyed them myself but realised there is simply too much clutter already. Sigh. <3 Ely

I'll have Phase One pics, then add more later as the additions come in and installed. We haven't even pasted our unit number! Thanks Adi, I feel much better now after a trip to the doc's. Many have recommended TCM but haven't tried it yet. Even the plaster guy said that I looked really weak and should try TCM - wow, great boost to the confidence. Definitely not looking my best atm but this phase will pass, like all the others and should probably start working out soon too. Haven't had a decent workout in a month. Still waiting for the final art pieces and such, then the shelf partition with my books and knick-knacks, and hopefully, the common bedroom will be finally rid of the outstanding boxes. - Ely

Don't worry Adi, it'll all fall together with your impeccable taste. I simply use Word or Photoshop then convert to pdf (though that's not "free" but there's always ways to get it free - won't elaborate on that part ) It's great that your ID is on the same wavelength with you - mine didn't agree with my taste but I didn't care anyway, I simply explained what I wanted and he made it happen without the fancy 3Ds. - Ely

You're hardly a yellow-faced housewife! Any online gamer demands more respect from me than that - think of yourself as a modern-day soccer mom like on Desperate Housewives You should see me chasing after Maxey all day! Love the look you're going for - that apartment is gorgeous and yet so cozy and warm. It would be like perpetually living in a villa in Bali. Unfortunately, my home has segregated themes so it doesn't blend all that well - balcony is more resort, living and kitchen is modern, bedroom is vintage/glam-chic (complete with 1965 General Electric rotary phone~). You're an object of envy because of that 23ft wardrobe. D.a.m.n. - Ely

Welcome to RT! Love the overhead feature ceiling in the Master bedroom - definitely adds an elegant feel to the room. The 3Ds don't depict much colour, except for a few splashes but that could be your intended look? CutieCat is going all-out with the colourful theme. You should check out her t-blog. Very nice 3Ds - will be tuning in to your progress! Best of luck with your reno process! - Ely

I'll deliberately post at 11:58pm Sunday ! Art not here yet so am reluctant to take pics but will because I know my boring T-Blog lacks pics! All my decals are up, thanks to my ID who so heart-wrenchingly took the pains to affix all my decals while I was cleaning the house today. Even brought his irresistibly-cute daughter over to play with the pets. The decals should be ready by the weekend, and that's when the pics will be taken. Much <3 to Dad & Mom today, who bought me a steamboat and all the ingredients so we could have our first home-cooked meal. It was to appease my fears of the howling dog and wailing toddler as the elders believe a home-cooked meal signifies and bonds the house-owners to the home. So immensely touched. My parents really dote on me and I'm so lucky I'm so loved. Dad even went to some geomancer to get some stuff because my above-mentioned superstitions, with very strict instructions (timing, facing, placement etc). He even came prepared with a compass! Very, very touched by his concern, but ugh it doesn't suit my decor at all! Will try to disguise them best I can. I think peace of mind trumps decor though. Haven't had time to make the trip to Ikea and Daiso but will try to this weekend. Also need to assemble all the lamps I bought online. - Ely

Extreme Makeover @ Pandan Gardens
Ely1 replied to mae29's topic in Reno t-Blog Chat - HDB Resale Renovation & Interior Design
Oh we know it's just jest, May But I'll really like to suggest internet dating or speed dating - sounds cliche but a lot of meaningful relationships start from the Net where looks are secondary. In fact, I much prefer that because you don't form pre-conceived judgments based on a person's looks first. You connect first on an intellectual and emotional level, then when you finally decide to meet - the person only seems to look better than you'd imagined because he is so many wonderful things. Don't worry May - things will fall into place at the right time and you'll meet the right person, rich or not, one day - Ely -

Well, you described it so well I assumed you already know the routine. You'd need to lure them into the bedroom first though, not sure how you're going to do the Lux ad at Zouk's VIP corner (where most with the rich daddies are), though I hear they've now migrated to the casinos Anyway, you rejected all the ones I recommended! So fussy! - Ely -
Love your look book! Can't wait to see how it progresses! I, too, sourced all my inspirations online till I compiled a 27 page book!! Sometimes you'd be surprised how the eventual product turns out as you get too carried away with purchases ! The Scandi look is beautiful and classic, and getting very popular here. Even though my intended look leans more towards luxe and modern, I can appreciate all the different charms and it took me a while to decide which one I would love the most for 10 years. Good luck with your reno and your picking of the ID! Hope it goes smoothly without a hitch! - Ely

Hey Kobelala, let me know if you find a nice replica of the pony Yes it stems from the animal loving part - I have almost everything animal! A giraffe, puffer fish, owls, zebra, cow, peacock, birdcage, elephant, sheepskin, snakeskin, goose feathers, etc ! A zoo! Now thinking of moose head mmm. Haha! (Um, fake, of course...) Think I'll like a white one which will go well with the common bedroom. Btw, we have the same tiles, except mine are laid differently - staggered to look more like wood (save $$ on chengal! keke)! I use them in my balcony and they're lovely! Easy to mop and clean too. Whereas my wet kitchen tiles always feel like they're dusty... It's like an odd feel on the feet. - Ely

I'm going to leave it as I think they'd would only make it worse. Besides, I really cannot take the dust and debris and plaster and chemicals anymore. Still disappointed with the painting but am more daunted by the mess. Seems a shame really, to have put in so much money and effort into the reno, and to have the blotched painting spoil the whole look. Had a professional plaster guy come in, who did the plastering over 3 days. The painting guys came in the next day and perhaps the plaster wasn't completely dry yet as you said (however, the painting of the last day of plastering is acceptable). Then Dragon Lady episode, and the painters sanded and scraped off the bubbles and re-plastered the marred areas, waited 3 days then redid the whole thing. DAY 100 Today is major clean day - after my coffee/computer ritual, as ALL my boxes are now unpacked. Hurrah! Finally got through the last of the them yesterday. DIY and networking (head hurts just thinking about it) starts tomorrow - one decal is up (thanks to my ID) so waiting for him to do my other decals haha! My really nice ID offered to do all my decals and some of the DIY I was planning to do myself. Hommage will deliver the rectified bar table tomorrow, and hopefully, today, my brand new Mit compressor gets fixed. Balmy nights don't sit well with me My fans are not fancy (not sure why I was so nonchalant about picking the fans) but their acrylic blades work really well. After a while, the fans do grow on you and I find it suits the home well. May have pics this weekend if time permits. - Ely

Love your GSS buys - can't wait to see how it all goes together - you do have impeccable (and expensive!) taste! The couch is gorgeous - love the arm rests. Very cool indeed. - Ely

Hmm, don't know, probably an Aussie habit I picked up Like RB said, wet cloth + dry cloth. It does the job. Paper can leave those annoying paper residue, Chux is just simpler and disposable after quite many uses since it's hardier than paper towels. - Ely

Aww, gorgeous gorgeous Jon! Such a sweetheart! - Ely

Yeah, they said my storeroom was too small for them to do? After I called them 4 times... Got May's contact and they fixed it up within 20mins for $190. Don't feel bad, they just felt that my job was too small for them to make the trip down - Ely

I find that most washcloths and sponges leave streaks on granite. It's a tedious process but wipe with wet microfiber cloth (can use a little glass cleaner or all-surface cleaners) then dry with disposable Chux. Not sure what it's called here, but in Australia we call them Chux Hope this helps! - Ely

That is more of my fault than theirs. We only had the worst walls plastered in the beginning, because I had no idea that the painting wouldn't rectify the bad walls. I thought that it would cover most of it. After the final paint job, I found it unacceptable and coughed up extra for the plaster, and by then, all the switches and everything else was already installed. They used masking tape I think, but I don't know why the caking up is so bad, maybe I'll just try to scrape it off... - Ely
