Thanks redder. Had removed the caterpillar. realised there were 3 and their ferocious appetite is too much for my plants to handle. ^_^

Thanks for the compliment Momiji.. ^_^

Oh, I mentioned visitors didn't I... There used to be this yellow butterfly which comes on a daily basic and stops over at my Melampodium. Now i know why, Caterpillar... Decided not to remove it (hopefully my plant will survive it) for the sake of my kid whom mentioned that he had never seen the process of a caterpillar turning into a butterfly. So for the sake of science for my kid, I have decided to adopt the caterpillar. Still i will remove it should the plant reach the verge of dying in the process.

While tending my garden this morning, I notice we have visitors.. So glad that bees are coming to my flowers. This will help with the pollination of my edible crops which I might start on my next major phase of my gardening.
-
My onions which I have planted last week also shown accelerate growth.. can't wait to harvest Spring Onion for our daily cooking.

Here is an update of my Little Urban Garden. Had the perfect morning sun this morning with flower blooming like there is no tomorrow. Even the older pot of the Angelonia are starting to bloom again after I have shifted their pots for a better sun coverage.

^_^ tx Vanessa. Nope those are not Lavender, though its often mistaken for it. They are Angelonia.. though not as fragrant as the Lavender but they are a beauty to look at. I made those metal cages from wires mesh bought from the hardware shop. After that photo, I had made another 3 more and will be doing a few more tomorrow as I have plans to fill the entire span of my fence with Aster..

^_^ almost.. I am taking a step at a time to make sure the type of plant i choose are suitable for the amount of sunlight and of cos my abuse.

Hi Blackpeace, We sort of regret choosing our contractor as he sort screwed up a bit. So u sure u want their contacts?
-
Hi redder, tx for the compliment. Yup, i do check out daiso every now and then for some interesting stuff for both the household n gardening. Staining issues? hmm.. so far so good for us. as long as you wipe it up immediately after staining should do the job. we have 2 cats who cough out furballs every now and then on the floor which we only cleans up in the morning.. no staining on that as well. as for wines.. hmm.. touch wood, have tried that yet, as we all know how evil wine is on surfaces but still wipe it immediately should be ok. ya, we don't like grout lines as well, especially when the contractor does a bad job. woody floors throughout the house make it feels more homely ^_^

finally on the stage of beautifying the access area. ultimate aim, a flourishing garden. But sadly, in the midst of achieving this target, I hope I don't killed too many pot of plants. Had made some metal cage to hold the smaller pots of moss. I think eventually i will make enough to hang on the entire stretch of the fence and get more of these moss to complete the look.

Thanks for the compliment ^_^ still a long way to go and lots to do to beautify it.

We had also brought the vertical wall bicycle hanging hook, which I have already pre-drilled the holes onto the wall, and will mount them once painting is done. What will follow from here onwards, will be a series of small steps to grow my garden around my personal "backyard"
-
So the 3rd and final group of people who will be coming in, will be the painters. but before they begin, I have decided to fix up the ikea shoe racks onto the wall first, which will be remove later when the painting begins.. We are almost there.

Once the cement flooring is dried, the actual tiling begins. And voila, complete.
-
The tiling ppl was the next group of ppl whom we have arranged to come in for phase 2 of getting our access area done. we decided to engage another group, instead of getting our original contractor who did our house because we want to make it look nicer NOT worst, like what they have already done. we sought advice from tiling guys before deciding who should start work first. Tiling or Wrought Iron. And the tiling guys told us, the wrought iron should go up first, so they can wrap concrete around the fence support for an even sturdier structure. This group of tiler were pretty pro. Had specifically told them that water levelling is super important to us, as when it rains here, it pretty frightening hence we done wish to have any water accumulation within our access area. He ensure us that, he will not disappoint us. And since we already had the fence up, they specially lay some footings for us to step on before they complete the tiling works the next day.
-
the guys doing the installation were pretty good. they took effort to make sure that the entire fence is straight and upright And within a hour or two, the job is done.
-
2 Weeks ago, the wrought iron ppl told us that finally our customised fence is done! yeah... So they sent 2 people down for the installation.. Here is one of the section of the Fence... we decided to do a low fence instead of what the most will do (cage up) is because, we have no intention of looking out of the house within a cage. Furthermore, since we are not making an extension of our "storeroom", there is no need to cage up the entire area. We were more looking at creating our very own "backyard" which I could integrate the entire "garden" concept into our house. Instead of a straight boring looking wrought iron rod, I have included some details to it. Here is the gate, though slightly different from my design to them, but still its good enough.

Hi Vanessa, I will have to try getting them from my in-laws... cos they bought it from me.

I got my kitchen pendant lights from ikea. I think its a good deal, easy to change light bulb as well.
