  1. Would nova furnishing (spore) be the same company as nova furniture in JB? thanks.
  2. I just went to JB rustica last week to check out their sofas. Glad i read this forum. Thanks for the sharing.
  3. I visited melaka recently. Jonker street has some shops selling very nice art. Pricing usually cheaper than in KL.
  4. I thought it would be good to avoid getting IKEA furniture made of compressed particle wood. Not sure if i got the term right but it is made of treated wood chips compressed under certain conditions to form a very strong wood like material. This material is often covered with wooden veneer to make it look 'good'. I bought a bedframe from IKEA with this kind of material. Part of the veneer started to peel at the edges after 3 months. Try to get furniture with real solid wood if you are buying from IKEA but remember to check on whether they are susceptible to pest attacks.
  5. Thanks Webbit and Hermes76. Just can't fathom why the architect chose to have bay windows for a toilet in the first place.
  6. Hi pawpal would be extremely grateful if you could PM me Uncle Chew's contact. Thanks.
  7. Dear Renotalk forumers I am looking to cover the planter boxes at the living room balcony and masterbedroom. Would appreciate any advice from forumers who had done the same. DIY or contractor? Materials that can withstand the weather? Prevailing HDB rules on the material to be used? Thanks in advance. Regards
  8. Dear Renotalk forumers My new DBSS home is going to have bay windows for the bathroom to the Masterbedroom. Was pondering how to go about keeping that privacy during bathing as my unit is at a low floor level. Possible options include window films (tint or blur), blinds, curtains. For films i heard that they can get very sticky after years of sunshine and heat. For blinds and curtains, not sure if splashing water from the shower head would do any damage in the long run. Any forumers here faced the same predicament before? If yes, would appreciate any thoughts or experience on this. Thanks. Regards
  9. Would be grateful if anyone could PM me Mr Alex's contact. Thanks a million!
  10. Dear Renotalk members I'm looking to buy furniture and home appliances for my new home. Was wondering whether there is a most economical approach to the purchase of these items as collectively, its total is easily a 4,5 digit figure. I surfed the websites of major stores like Courts, Harvey Norman, Best Denki but they don't seem to suggest that one would get any further discount no matter how much you spend. Their cards are more rewards-based and do not really offer any useful discount. An alternative is to wait for the recurring mega exhibitions at Suntec or Expo hoping that prices would be lower or with more freebies. Would appreciate any sharing from anyone who had gone through the process of preparing a new home and found a method which would save the most for your wallet. Thanks in advance.
