  1. I guess only me & my second son who is now taking a semester break. Elder son is working & the youngest one is camera shy.
  2. Very funny, two days ago I received a pm from Straits Time reporter X who saw this reno blog & asking the same request as the reporter M who approached me last month for my contribution to 'My Space' weekly column. I initially thought they were from the same team, because when that lady reporter M approached me earlier, it was scheduled for March publication. However, due to space constraint, the column stopped for couple of weeks, and our slot is postponed to April. So, when the other reporter X contacted me 2 days ago, I thought they have resume the weekly column. Today, when I received 2 separate PM from them, I then realized it was a duplication & explained it to the reporter X. I have confirmed to Reporter M to send the photographer for the shot on next Friday afternoon. Will let you know the publication date of my contribution to ST's column.
  3. I am not sure about electricity consumption, but it is convenient as there is a water tap to connect water to the dispenser. The cold water is really ice cold type.
  4. Singapore Flyer Does anyone know that they did a feng shui recently? Can you spot the difference between current entrance and the old one? Notice the round about in front of the new entrance? The new bus-coach bay before the exit....
  5. Besides not cooking at home, I don't even boil hot water at home. I bought this water dispenser which comes with hot / cold water, and only troublesome is to change its 4- filters once a year.
  6. Hi, friends78 Congratulations! You can finally move in to your long waited new place which is beautifully done up. Can't wait for your super brother to upload the pictures
  7. My advice to him is the same as yours - better gain a few years of working experience before he further his study. Green horn, knows nuts about working life, least to say organisational management skill. PHD....like my youngest son used to tease him - study until Permanent Head Damage, 'no use one'! He did tell me he more or less has interest in research work....hmmm.....he said his final project now focus on energy research on how those photovoltaic / solar energy / wind turbine / fossil, or dont know wat, can be designed & used in shipbuilding. I surrender myself to all my children! Just hope that at least 1 of the 3 darlings can make a decent living & support me when I retire in the next few years.
  8. Bro Kobelala Next Sunday while at my place, you might ask Marshy's permission to visit her place since we are only kilometers away. Her place has nice scenary, and I like the glass sliding doors. Sis Marshy Hope your husband won't faint
  9. He is eyeing on taking Marine Business Management. Looking for company sponsors. He said he is not interested to take engineering masters, No Point. Else he will just take doctorate in Engineering. Wild ambition indeed. Anyway, his mummy is a 'graduate' of 'University of Society' and holds a 'Master in Home Management'. Knows nothing about what you guys and my son are talking here.....
  10. Thanks, Marshy! That is exactly what my son told me - Poly recruits uni grad with no working experience too!! I think his plan is to give lecture and at same time, have evening time for his part time Master.
  11. Marshy Looks like both yours and May's 4-room unit are very spacious as compared to those new BTO flats of area <90m2. Newer flats in AMK is even smaller...4-room is only 85m2!!!
  12. Arhhhh....wife not around this weekend = STRESS-LESS , and you can freely choose the sanitary wares without Big Big headache ~~~ just joking
  13. He is already "One Head Two Big" ~~~ wonder this weekend will he be choosing tiles again seeing the comments.
  14. The shower mixer which comes with the Rain Shower: ...and the powerful mixer tap...all comes with hot & cold water
  15. BaZi Profile - The Warrior Warriors are agressive & have non-giving up attitude, like to bring chaotic back to order. They like to fight for the powerless. Like to see everything as danger when negative and becomes a burden to them. They are slower to take action because they like to evaluate everything, very cautious people, also reliable, responsible and dutiful. Warrior does not trust people easily; first doubt you before they trust you, until you are proven trustworthy. Can be quite impulsive though...anything can ignite Me vs You kind of argument. However, once they are committed, they stick to 101% commitment! Path of least resistance to success: Warriors do best in organising resources, see things work through, like executing strategy & implement it in the long run. Hence, warrior should be the CEO, MD or GM of company, offering your service to run the company, as you can re-energise the company.
  16. The brand for the Rain Shower is ONIMI ITALIA, and I paid $400 for it. Retail price stated in the catalogue is over $600+. My ID brought me to Asia Excel at Balestier Road where the sales lady Roslyn gives good discount to his customer.
  17. You write like a Professor lor.... Too many ambitions become a lost child lor....there is always a better choice as he thinks. That famous shipyard is known for generous VB payout.....both giant shipyards paid good bonus. But he has to work long hours, and half day on Saturday as Production Engineer. That's why I hasten him to sign with that firm who offered him as Architect, the design core team members. I told him engineers position already flooded the street everywhere! Not easy to get vacancies for naval architect which is what he is good at (he is a mathematician, won many accolates and prizes during his secondary school days, locally and overseas.)
  18. The toilet bowl, brand Lucia, an Italian brand. So far, seems alright as NO poos left behind after flushing, unlike the old toilet bowl supplied by HDB contractor where poo stain on the side wall. Most forumers took the picture of toilet bowl with seat lifted up...but I prefer to put down the lid. So far no flies come near to this light in the toilet - may be because of the wooden slabs which emit a kind of scent which can deter them from entering? The 2 doors for the toilet...taken inside the toilet
  19. Sister May_dream1 Ya lor.....always look forward to the future, as tomorrow is always a good start to fresh day with new hopes.
  20. Finally got time to upload the balance photographs of the Rain Shower & Shower Mixer: The Rain Shower in Common bathroom --- was supposed to be installed in my MBR toilet, but cannot mount due to beams obstruction!! Whenever I see this, very 'gek sim' lor... ...so, this is my 'tiny' rain shower lor...
  21. Yes, the Merlion is supposed to be the guardian of Singapore River, as in the olden days, the river was choppy and posed risks for the traders. So, it was told that the senior Lee seek someone to craft the Merlion to protect the river mouth. It was shifted from its old location because of the bridge constructed over there. Then, it was moved to its current site but still obstructed by another bridge. My sifu had suggested to someone the Merlion should be position farther away near the MBS. Red is Fire...looks like the lion is going to be cook for meal for tourists.
  22. We asked our FSM and he explained (his opinion) that most probably the 'eyes' opening is to let the sunlight, yang energy into the top of the building. I didn't take the readings of the building, forgotten all about it as our focus was the Chinese temple. So, unable to fathom the sharp metal studs on the facade of building. The long 'throat', in my opinion, probably is to devoid the direct confrontation with the facing of opposite Chinese temple. It is 'mouth-to-mouth' facing each others' entrance. As for that poor thing Merlion, don't know why the Singapore Tourist Board housed it in that one-room hotel, which is $3000 per night stay from evening 6pm to next morning. In the daytime till evening, tourist can pay a fee to climb up the hotel and get close to the Merlion. Do you think it is worth it to attract tourist at the expense of the famous iconic Merlion?
  23. This excludes the 2 over years wasted in the Court systems....fighting & contesting, and mud smudging at each other Now, you know why I gave up everything in return for my 3 darlings.
