  1. I have flushed wall but there are no skirting cos it's flushed then build wardrobe. So no skirting done before wardrobe was built.
  2. Yup, my main door also laminated. I cannot find any design that are special enough so my contractor recommended me to do laminated door since I can choose any laminate that I like and design, just like kitchen cabinet or wardrobe.
  3. I think laminate are water resistant except where they glued it to the frame. But if done properly should be ok cos kitchen cabinet also laminate mah. Mine also laminate and every month, the block cleaning will wet my front door but already 1.5 years, everything still as new. You didn't say who is your contractor. Taking so long is a bit ridiculous lah.
  4. Mitsubishi have 2 brands, Mitsubishi heavy industries or Mitsubishi electric. Which one you mean? As for heater, ask yourself are you going to use gas stove or electric stove. If gas stove then you can choose gas heater or electric heater. But if you want electric stove then better use gas heater. This is to avoid overloading your electrical and causes power trip.
  5. Until now still haven't move in? Poor you.... Even though Reno is small part of our lives, but when it affect our daily life, it felt like forever. I wonder whether laminated door would help? Since its whole piece of laminate, might withstand water/rain.
  6. so long still face the same problem? sometimes pay a bit more money to change everything and have the peace of mind is better.
  7. can get a small sewing machine loh.... i am thinking of getting one also since i need to make my own pillow cover. hahahahaha....
  8. there are a lot of things to keep in storeroom. my storeroom is almost full..... and there is only 1 person.
  9. if kitchen and toilets only, then should be below 20k or so lah. but need to do living and bedrooms, even 30k is a bit difficult. so depending on how much you want to do. less hacking, less $$$. why not just keep the store room cos i think the bedroom size for 4NG is reasonable.
  10. where got simple? got cabinets, marble backing, big mirror..... not simple at all. Like hotel class!
  11. its better for owner to do it lah, since they will be your neighbours. you will live there, not your contractor mah. got problem, next time you will face the problem. but there are some people that thinks unknown ppl knocking on the door means they are salesperson. so some don't answer door no matter what. don't worry lah, will be fine.
  12. It's a home because you made it so. It's warm and where the heart is.... Handmade from the heart is making your flat even more heartwarming.
  13. i didn't buy from beds.sg. but mine, the quality is ok lah, only $89 per stool so after 2 years, maybe can change? the temptation of working near places where you can buy so much stuff
  14. the height of my kitchen top is 860mm. so i uses bar stool as well, so far so good.... no problem at all. normal in sg, the kitchen top is 850mm.
  15. not all upgrading will upgrade electrical loading. like what getszki said, call the technical officer for your area. since its confusing where website says not upgraded and you see the box showing 40A.
  16. https://www.hdb.gov.sg/bn25/isos119p.nsf/Search?OpenForm You can check here
  17. really nice staircase and kitchen!! wonderful design
  18. if your induction is those more than 15amp, then yes, it will trip your whole house. that is why i choose not to use storage heater.... its either electric stove with aircon without storage heater, or else will be storage heater with aircon and gas stove. do you have hood? if yes, then even worse.....
  19. i looked at floor plan, i know its not hdb flat. like i said, just choose 1 then use that one to do measurement for you. that way, you only need to bring 1 contractor to do on site measurement. after that, the same measurement can be used for all other contractors. if you already decided, then you can sign the contract. that is provided you already make the changes you want, meet and discussed a few times... i would say at least meet all for 1 time, meet selected 3/4 for 2nd time then finally the one you choose for last time. then more less confirmed, 4th time to meet and sign and pay 10% cheque as deposit (usually its 10% lah). if you are like me, quite firm in what you want and will not keep adding, then i think 2-3% variation might happen cos you never know the exact condition till you hack everything (if you hack). but you cannot decide and quite easily persuaded, then you might want to keep at least 15% for variation. This does not incl electrical wiring!
  20. i think the bleucheeze is not having a HDB flat so there is no way he/she can buy the floor plan from HDB.
  21. Since your floorplan do not have measurements, what you can do is look through the tblog and shortlist a few that you are comfortable with, like what MrsLoo mentioned. Then get a contractor/ID to go with you to the place. Ask him to measure everything for you then quote. Using the measurement done by him, get apple to apple comparison from a few contractor/id more. Finally shortlist based on what you like, ie designs, pricing, "chemistry" etc.
